The Coming Dark

Zhailo made her way to the medic, hoping to check on Josh.

Vic took out one of the MRE's and sat down at the tables. "I hate this [&@%!].." He muttered to himself as he began to took into his meal. He had been eating MRE's for the last two weeks now and although the taste had been bad when he had first eaten it it had only become blander and less tasty as the weeks went by.

Zhailo made it to the medbay.

"So, uh, you, uh, took the news well," Meera said a little nervously.

She knocked on the Medic's office. She had a piece of 8 by 11 standard printer paper that she had attempted to draw a picture of Josh on it. She pointed to the picture looking for Josh.

"Friend of yours?" The Medic asked as he opened the door.
"Uh-huh," Was the reply.

Tylvenot smiled, "You expected me not to? What's done, is done." He took a deep breath, "How was I supposed to respond; hurt, anger, melting off your face? I think you've been through enough. But, do you think the others will take it so easily?"

"I was expecting anger and disgust," Meera admitted, "And I don't really want to think about how the others will react."

"Did you tell the Medic that you lost alot of blood?" Zhailo asked Josh, placing a hand to his head wanting to make sure he didn't develop a fever. Because the Medic couldn't understand Zhailo, like most of the other humans, Zhailo showed the medic her arm, which she proceeded to cut and to heal in front of the Medic's eyes. After she was done healing herself she then pointed to josh before mimic with her hands the wounds he had suffered. "Is Brad still around maybe he could translate?" She asked.

"Lost a lot of blood," Josh said as he lay down.
"Could you both leave?" The Medic said, "This is a delicate procedure."

Zhailo nodded and left. She decided to head to the kitchen for now.

Tylvenot looked at Meera, "Well, there has been something I've wanted to do. Something I wanted to say for awhile, now." Tylvenot stood up.

"Go on then," Meera replied.

Brad walked out of the medical station and followed Zhailo.

Zhailo soon reached the kitchen and one of the first places she checked was the freezer to see if there were fish in it, hoping that it wasn't cleaned out by soldiers tired of MRE's. Zhailo needed the protein and succeeded in finding some fish left over frozen. She took it out and began to dethaw it with hot water. She was angry and frustrated that the humans refused to eat real food or even stock it. "Not even in seasoning. Why must these human leaders stock up on false food in metal bags? I desire a forest and/or garden to obtain real food like fruits, vegetables, seasoning, meats."

"Never slap me, again." Tylvenot struck Meera across the face. "There, nothing hidden." Tylvenot smiled a little. "Let's go now, I do not want to talk about this, anymore." Tylvenot began to walk toward the others.

Meera worked her jaw as she followed.

"On behalf of all humans I apologize," Brad said to Zhailo, a half smile on his face.

Vic glanced up as both Zhailo and Brad entered the kitchen before quickly looking back down at his meal again. He was in no mood for an earful of either of them.

Zhailo looked up at Brad, up until that pint she was unware he had followed her. "Where is Kheslo? And thank you for helping with my friend Josh."

"I haven't seen her," he said. "Probably getting knocked unconscious by a teammate made me miss seeing her."

Vic looked up, the Kid had asked for it. He was not going to say sorry. "If you want to say something to me Kid, say it." He growled.

Brad looked at Vic. "I already did, and you broke my jaw instead of dealing with the fact that you're an arrogant, self-righteous dick who can't hold a conversation with someone for more than two seconds without storming away or punching them!"

Vic balled up a fist "Don't think I wont do the same thing again Kid." He growled, louder this time before glancing at the look he was getting off Zhailo. "You know what Kid, you're not even worth it, run back to your girlfriend." He took a deep breath before continuing with his meal.

Tylvenot continued to walk, smiling, "Do you here that, Meera? They are arguing. Vic just doesn't know when to stop." Tylvenot walked around, still eating, "Zhailo should sort him out."
