Yes! Someone actually agrees with me on something! I think that the voice acting for nearly all of the daedra (azura excluded) gets way too cheesy. It's like, "Okay, Molag. I get it, you're evil. Will you stop with the overly-exaggerated evil laugh now?"Evil-i wrote:Clavicus Vile? I thought the voice acting was awful. Actually, something I've noticed in Skyrim, is that more than a few of the Daedric voices just don't come across as authentic or appropriate. It's kinda like watching a Shaw brothers Hong Kong fu flick with its typical poor and bizarre english voice dubbing.

Re: Favourite NPC
Molag Bal reminds me of the voice of Satan in al old MST3K movie the name of which escapes me right now.
Anyhow, I thought he was perfect, and if I was Bethesda, I'd hire him to do the Bethesda phone lines automated menus in that character.
Also, your username makes me think of weapon mods from MGS4, and a bosmer frantically changing out the scope on his bow for a silencer...

It's okay to disagree with me, you're entitled to your opinion. No matter how wrong you are.

Re: Favourite NPC
Though you never see more than her statue my favorite is Meridia, her voice is the least cheesy of the Daedric Gods.

Am I the only one who actually likes Jenassa? She's my favorite vanilla follower since I always play sneaky characters. And I love her comments about the world. I also really like Nazeem. He's a cool dude, and I wish I knew more about his backstory.

At the risk of getting murdered, Heimskr. He alone has been appointed by the Ninth to spread his holy wooooooord!
I can't not like any character that ludicrously over the top.

Brynjolf by far. Then Cicero. It would've been the Gray Fox but disappointingly he wasn't involved in this game.

I think you're confusing the convincing voice acting with exaggeration.
Re: Favourite NPC
Legate Rikke, Legate Fasendil, and Ria are my favorites by far. Legate Rikke is patriotic in a sense, and her dialogue is fairly stunning. Legate Fasendil, like I've said before, has caught on to the role which the Thalmor play during the Civil War. And Ria for being one of the nicer members of the Companions.

Re: Favourite NPC
I like Brunwulf Free-Winter for being a Nord that will stand up for the Dunmer in the grey quarter, and I also quite like Shahvee, also in Windhelm, for her positive outlook.
I also quite like Sybille Stentor as a character, though she's a bit rude, she's also been very successful at hiding the fact that she's a vampire.
I like Paarthunax, but his speech is very off-putting after the first time, with how long it takes for him to actually say anything

Is that such a bad thing though, I wish he spoke more. The debate on what time to end the world could have been longer, it was quite interesting...

Re: Favourite NPC
I didn't mind the voice of Molag Bal personally, and I was really impressed by the sequence in the house containing his shrine the first time I saw it, I thought the voice fit pretty well. Azura was fine, but I do agree that a lot of the others were very uninspiring; it's like because they're Daedra they can't just talk normally, and Clavicus Vile has to have the most annoying voice ever, alongside Barbas. It means the Daedra are a bit difficult to like; Sheogorath is about what you would expect after Shivering Isles, but his quest was really boring and he wasn't as amusing or mad as in the Shivering Isles (or even his daedric quest in Oblivion). Hircine was another disappointing one, for a lord of the hunt he sounded a bit pathetic, though I enjoyed the related quest.Mod-Loving Wood Elf wrote:Yes! Seriously though, he and Cicero are in a never ending dual to be my favorite NPC. I apparently have a soft spot for nutters.
Also, I think Belethor is hilarious. I don't know why, but I like the characters nobody likes... it's a bit disconcerting..

Bah-dun tsssch...
I like Meridia for the voice-acting, and for actually being a Daedra whose character I can sort of understand.
Of general people, I'm gonna say Muiri.
She seems so scared and wussy, but really, she's one hell of a screwed up viewpoint. I mean, her reasoning is completely fallable. And while she has been wronged a bit, she really is quite the vengeful person with a distorted reasoning and a distorted sense of ethics.
All this, and still managing to sound and look like a deer in headlights constantly.

I'd have to say Ulfric Stormcloak.
