About How Much Time Do You Play Per Sitting?
I'm asking to see how long you guys/gals play Skyrim in a single sitting. I usually try to squeek in an 60mins+, but I've realized how little can be accomplished in 60minutes.

It all depends on when I got the time, and when I got the next thing on my agenda..

I work like 60 hours a week and I am married. I can sort of relate. Thankfully, my wife understands that I love playing video games. Let's say under ideal conditions, how much time would you set aside?Mehra Milo wrote:It all depends on when I got the time, and when I got the next thing on my agenda..

Re: About How Much Time Do You Play Per Sitting?
It really depends on my computer.
After a while, mine computer tends to crap out on me. The fps randomly drops to less than half upon changing cells, and that's the point where I usually shut the game off. 10 fps is a little difficult to deal with, especially when you're used to the 30-60 range.
In other words, an average session could last anywhere from 15 minutes to 3 hours. One hour is usually the most likely, though. I only play two or more when I'm caught up in something and trying really hard to get it done.

Depends on my free time, I suppose. Usually an hour or two at a time. It depends on how busy I am with school.
Re: About How Much Time Do You Play Per Sitting?
I agree playing for less than an hour seems to accomplish very little, especially if you're walking from location to location. Now I usually play in three hour blocks once or twice a week.

Re: About How Much Time Do You Play Per Sitting?
My favorite time to play is early in the mornings when I have the largest block of time. Got my coffee, my water...and I play for like 1-3 hours depending on the day.

Re: About How Much Time Do You Play Per Sitting?
Depends; I usually have to devote a a couple of days (so 14 hours or so total) for starting a new character so I can get it really to the right point. After that I find it easier to stick to an hour or two in the morning, and maybe another hour or two at night. I'm self-employed and work from home (programmer) so the temptation to just play all day every day is pretty hard to resist, but if I don't force some work in between sessions my electricity will stop and then it'll be hard to get anything done
To clarify, that probably means around 2 hours total a day, since if I only spend an hour in the morning I'll usually fire it up later on for another hour or-so, but if I get a longer session in the morning (e.g - if I'm doing a longer dungeon and just decide to finish it) then I'll (usually) manage to avoid playing later on. I've put 120+ plus on the poll since the total time getting the game warmed up etc. probably takes me over the two hour mark, and I do have a tendency to go a little bit over rather than under! A big help has been managing to avoid quests and only doing one or two guilds per play-through; whichever guilds are most appropriate to my character, as well as only picking up items that I need to avoid spending the full two hours trying to sell stuff to tidy up my inventory. I've also been avoiding things like smithing unless they're crucial to a character, e.g - a warrior, in which case I'll try not to do any during the week otherwise I don't get anything done and feel like I wasted my game-time for the day. In Skyrim the ability to accumulate huge numbers of quests that aren't really suited to your character can be a huge pain so I've trained myself to avoid it as much as is humanly possible.

First week: Until mental exhaustion set in, now about 90 minutes or until two quests are completed whichever comes first.

Re: About How Much Time Do You Play Per Sitting?
1-2 hours a few days a week.
On the weekend I might have a 4 our session, max.
Less than an hour and I can't get anything done. Anything after two hours and I get less productive and burn out. Not as bad with that on the weekends when I'm rested. Can't hog the tv/console for more than 2 hours anyway without cutting into my kids turns, lol.

I can't say because there is a lot of times where I won't do nothing with Skyrim.

Try to fit in 2 hours per sitting, live in constant fear of my 360 overheating and the soldering cracking. Maybe once or twice a day, my mom is obsessed with viva pinata....

Re: About How Much Time Do You Play Per Sitting?
I'll usually play an hour or two per sitting - I always make sure I have a definite hour of free time before turning on my Xbox. I'll normally get on a few times per week, depending on my schedule (what with school, hockey, violin, and piano, it can get busy). But I'm predicting a decline in my Skyrim time once I get Halo 4 and Assassin's Creed 3...
Start the groove.

Re: About How Much Time Do You Play Per Sitting?
I always find it funny how I can literally play an hour and a half of Skyrim at once, then look back, and realize I did virtually nothing.
Maybe two misc. quests and a dungeon. Where DOES that darn time go?

Re: About How Much Time Do You Play Per Sitting?
This sounds very similar to a problem I am getting, good (sorta) to hear I'm not the only one getting that. I find it will happen no matter what but especially if there is a snowstorm outside. I usually quicksave and quit to desktop then re-load Skyrim, even though its only been a matter of seconds the game runs fine again.Mauin wrote:It really depends on my computer.

As for how long I play its kinda hard to tell, I will often leave the game paused or idle while I take a phone call or make some food and steam counts that time towards my hours played. I once left it on for 5 plus hours while I went to work, made me laugh when I cam home and realised it was still paused. I would have to say my average session would be over 90 minutes.
I'm on my way to Windhelm to join up with the Stormcloaks, Ulfric has the right of it!

Re: About How Much Time Do You Play Per Sitting?
I would minimum like to play for one and a half hour. Normally i don't play Skyrim unless i know i have at least that time.. Because it takes some time for me to get into the game.snapple wrote:I work like 60 hours a week and I am married. I can sort of relate. But i play Morrowind on my Mac that i got from work and are often playing that for half an hour in the lunch break or if we are having serverproblems with or systems (which is more often the you would think, when knowing we are the biggest telecom operator in my country).

It depends, but usually over 2 hours a session (although you wouldn't know it from my accomplishments in that time e.g. walking from Riverwood to Solitude complete with getting sidetracked yay!)

I used to play for hours at a time, but now with so many new games (mainly Assassins Creed 3 and Halo 4) what time I have for gaming is devoted to those. I'm going to be playing a lot more of Skyrim right before and after Dragonborn releases though!

I rarely play new games. This past calendar year I sort of have been, but I'm done spending money on games that I won't put many hours into. I've put nearly 400 into Skyrim. I've spent $85 on it. I played Star Wars: The Old Republic a bit (don't know how many hours) and spent well over $85. I have no desire to play it anymore. I bought Diablo 3 and was really disappointed (I spent rough 150hours on it). I've never been bored in Skryim and there are still hundreds of things I've never done in the game. I'm just going to stick to this for a bit.

Usually an hour and a half, but this can go on for much longer depending on much of a jerk my brothers are.

I usually play the time necessary to complete a quest or an ingame goal. Some quests are short, some longer but all in all it usually comes down to an hour or so.

Most of mine are 4-5 hours a sitting, but I have, in the past, done 10+ hour play sessions. My eyes felt like they were bleeding when I finished.
