Do you want kids?

I really can't understand why people see only the hard part about being a parent. For starters, if you are willing to be a good parent, forget about being selfish. Children can be tough, but they are not demons, like many of you are saying. They are kids; you sure remember the time from when you were a kid, right? kids are noisy, clumsy, and they need you a lot. But there is the beauty of it; they need you to be there for them, to teach them how to be a good person. Being a parent is probably one of the best things in the world, in my opinion. Just the love you will feel for that child is an amazing reward.

I never had kids, but I have a little sister, and when my mom is not home, I am her mother. My mom never asked me to be like that to her, but to me it's natural. We are nine years apart; the least I can do is to be there for her, just like a mom would be.

Anyways, I can't understand you people. Kids are lovely, not demonic things.

No kids. At least I say this now. Maybe one day when Im a successful actor but now I need to focus on my career. Having a kid at this time in my life would ruin everything for me. And I love the bachelor lifestyle. Which is why I'm not silly, cuz I wrap my willy!

Though goats sure are purdy creatures IMO (kid is a term for baby goats and/or their meat)

I wouldn't mind those kinds of kids, either!

I spent a summer on a friend's ranch raising the baby goats, and I have to say, they are the cutest things in the world zomigod. I had the cutest little kid-friend named Franklin, and he used to follow me everywhere. So. Damn. Adorable.

I just love little things. Gaaaah.

Yes I want kids, for reasons probably more spiritual in nature than most others, but yes. I will just feel sorry for my kids since I will look for a way to make a joke with all of their names. I'm not that great with kids though, my humor and personality doesn't exactly line up with children. (My humor consists of too many puns and thinkers, plus I'm more of the kind of guy that doesn't say much.) I will say one thing though, seeing as my name is Zachary, derived from Zacharias, my first son's name is going to be John, no debates. (Extra points if my wife's name is Elizabeth.) I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to be having kids for a while though, after all, I'm only 18.

Old topic but I don't think I commented on this one and I'm bored so whatever.

I don't want kids because of purely logical reasons, you gain nothing material from them unless they become rich and give you more than you spent on them later in life which is possible but unlikely. I also don't want the added stress of having to feed/clothe them, take them to school, pick them up, have to give them gifts, plan birthday parties, etc... none ofthose things really sound fun to me, I would rather avoid having children and save myself the hassle.

Yeah I'm greedy, in fact almost everyone in the US is, in a Capitalist country everyone worships the dollar which is why I can't understand people having so many kids. I mean sure, it's nice to have a prodigy you can mold into your perfect creation but will that really matter in the long term, your genes will eventually dissipate into 0.01% of the genetic code of future generations if your tree doesn't die off.

I mean yeah, if my parent's didn't have me I wouldn't have been alive to type this but if i were never born then it wouldn't even matter anyways. I guess this kind of mentality happens after reality crushes your soul and leaves you a hollow husk of a man huh lol?

^ That's just about the most depressing thing I've ever read in my life. No offense to you, but oh my God, I'm suddenly really sad.

On that note, I kind of thought about it lately. While I still want kids, the question of the matter is how many I want and what kind of kid I'd like to raise. xD

I think I'd like one kid. Preferably a girl, because I think I'd be a better father to a girl (don't ask why, I just think I would be) but I'd be ecstatic with either gender. I'd name a girl Naomi and a boy Jake in honor of my grandpa, who always wanted to name me Jake (and still calls me that to this day). Being a father is honestly something I look forward, but I also don't want to jump right into it like an idiot. I want to be prepared for it.

I would raise my kids to be tolerant, first and foremost. In a culture of people who hate things that they don't understand (intolerances against gay marriage, women's rights, slut shaming, other religions, et cetera), I would not want my child to be a tool or a sheep to one of these generations. When my child would tell me her favorite color is purple, I wouldn't tell her 'No, your favorite color is blue, because that's what daddy's favorite is'. When she would ask me what happens when people die, I would tell her 'Well, some people think that we go to heaven. And some people think that we get born again as someone else. What do you think happens when we die?'

I was raised to be tolerant to many different ideas by my dad, while my mom generally pushed me to be catholic (which resulted in me not wanting to be catholic). So once again, I would support whatever kind of ideas that my child has about life; so long as they aren't along the lines of bigotry. There's a fine line, I suppose.

I just want my child to see the good in the world above all else. The world is a happy place if you make it out to be, I believe. I want to impart that.

what irritates me most when i see Parents speaking to children, is how they make up stuff and say things in a certain way so they dont scare the little children or anything.

my parents didnt do it with me, so im not going to do it with whatever children i get if i end up getting them
im not against smacking children when they do things wrong, and im all for telling them the truth of the world

This is pretty far from my mind right now but currently I really don't like the idea of having kids. I suck at dealing with kids it's just not my strong suit. So for now I'm going to say no, I don't like the idea and quite frankly I think I'd suck at being a dad.
