Revak dropped down to examine the tracks. "Whatever did this, is something we don't want to fight." He stood up, saying,"We should be cautious, whatever did this could still be around."

Leniel took his eyes to the rest of the area, limbs in the dirt, "Damn," he looked to where the large foot prints went. "Ravak, we should not leave that..thing, whatever it is, to do this to others. Caution is not always the best option. I believe that with our combined might, we can overtake it."

"That could jeprodize our mission, Leniel." he said staring at the elf,"At least, if we were all together, anyway.." Revak began formulating a plan, and one could see that he was thinking.

The tracks led into the woods were several trees had been pushed over in the creature's wake. Bones and scraps followed the path of the monster as well.

"This beast will threaten any that it goes near, we should probably do something, but what do you all want to do?" Nalfein asked the party.

Revak jabbed his finger towards himself. "Let me go, alone. I'll see what I can find and the rest of you stay here. If I need something I'll whistle for you.Sound like a plan?"

"Got it," said Revak as he slipped into the underbrush, thinking, "What have I gotten myself into, again? You'd think I'd learn."

After a few minutes of tracking Revak came upon a large-mouthed cave, sleeping on the cave floor war a large creature covered in moss green hair and was very strong from the look of its arms. The beast had a foul reek, even reaching him from yards away. Forest Troll..... Revak could recognize the beast from legends and stories. Resistant to magic of the mind and very strong these foul beasts killed any in their path and were known for their unintelligence.

"Yeah," Revak thought,"We're not taking that down easily. At least, not without a plan." He looked around for something he could use.

There were scorch marks on some of the patches of fur and recognition flooded through Revak. Trolls were weak to fire, beyond that knowledge there was little that could be of use.

"Just need to make a fire," he thought,"Better go back to the others."He began to slink away, keeping his hands on his daggers.

The monster did not stir as Revak made his way back to the others. But the burning on the back of Revak's neck told him to be wary. He made it back to the others safely and undetected however.

"What is the creature?" Nalfein asked thinking it was an ogre or giant of some kind.

Revak, relieved that he had made it back, began to explain,"It looks like a forest troll. It seems that the merchants didn't go down without a bit of a fight, judging by his burns. But, still, we need to be careful if we're going to fight it." He looked around at his companions,"Start making a fire, it's the only weapon we've got that'll be effective against him. And, we need a plan. I'm working on one, but I'd like to hear what the rest of you want to do." He watched the others expectantly.

"From what I know of forest trolls, they are vulnerable at their joints. If you can cut their hamstrings then you can take them down easier. But I also know that my mind games will not work on the creature, but my teleporting spells will allow me to distract the creature if need be. But please tell us about you plan Revak." Nalfein said. He had never seen a forest troll and only read about them. He was scared, but savored the chance to face one at the same time.

Leniel looked around, "I've seen a frost troll, once. It was ripping apart a deer. We best keep our distance. I can make throwing weapons to throw at it."

Revak smirked at Lenielf saying,"Who's being cautious now? Alright, so here are my plans. The first one is, we could set the forest on fire. Or we could make a fire here, and draw the troll towards it, that way we'd have access to our best weapon. Or, finally, one of us could cause a distraction, while the rest of us sneak up behind the troll and take him by suprise. It's your choice." he said giving a mock bow to his companions.

"A forest fire sounds like a terrible idea and would kill more people than the troll.... But the other two have some merit, the second plan seems good but who will lead the troll here? And Leniel if anything, I should distract it as they are resistant to my magic." Nalfein said wondering why Leniel was not explaining more.

Leniel moved, "While you may want to distract it, you can't hurt it. I can slow it down with shadow magic," He made a little knife and threw it in the ground. As it vanished he continued to talk, "You teleport the fire near it, I'll move it into the fire, you guys kill it. That way the fire will be controlled."

"Sounds good to me. Now we just need to get the brute's attention.... and start that fire..." Nareniel just set fire to the cart as all valuables had been moved off of it any way.

The fire was soon roaring and ready to burn the beast. The heat of the flames was almost too much for the group standing there.

Revak said,"Be careful, guys. I don't want to lose more friends in my life. Believe me, the first time was bad enough." Revak failed to hide a hint of a tear, as he readied his daggers.

"I suppose I will go poke the monster with a stick or something....." Nalfein said. He started towards the foot prints and the fallen trees. "Get ready while I am pestering him." He said as he left.

In a few minutes he found the cave and the beast the same way that Revak had. The monster was both hideous and horrifying, Nalfein took a moment to catch his breath. Now or never! He sent a small stone flying at the giants head, it landed with a small *crack* and the beast did nothing at first. For a moment he heard the hot breath of the monster and then it roared and sprang into action. The fifteen foot tall beast charged at him, and had Nalfein not been teleporting to gain some distance on the beast he would have been caught. "[&@%!]!" He roared as he ran from the monster.

"HE IS RIGHT BEHIND ME GET READY!" He yelled as he teleported and reappeared beside Revak. The beast was not yet visible but they could hear the beast's heavy strides.
