Elderscrolls movie?

Post by Voodoogod »

I think it would be a cool idea is some big film company like Fox or Paramount made And Elder Scrolls movie.Either going through all the games in one movie or making a movie for each game.

Nah that would just kill it. The hero could only be one race so theyd have to choose out of the ten races and theyll probably choose a human race to make it easy. Then the do the main quest and thats it. Its would be ok. I mean id go see it but its just a bad idea. They would leave out most provences, and the main charater would have some kind of problem in his life, it would just kill one of the greatest games of all time.

Ah but in the DVD release you could choose which "skin" you want the hero to wear for the film.......

You seriously think that a film company would shoot a film ten times to choose which skin a charater could were. You relize actors work for.......money right. Not like this movie would be getting academy awards, oscars or even reconision form anyone exept the video game world. This film will most likly not make a lot of money anyway.

Of course that's not what I meant. We do live in a digital age now! I meant a skin that would be digitally generated over top of the actor. Keep up!

(not to mention that I wasn't being entirely serious)

The good news is that the script and extras would be cheap.

Don't get me wrong. I love Oblivion. But nothing about the "plot" would excite me about it being turned into a movie. As fantasy goes, it's pretty generic. Just look at the Dungeons and Dragons movie. There are at least a couple fantasy novels out there (unfortunately not many more) that would make for a much more exciting movie that don't follow the watered-down Tolkien clone model.

Nope, that's a bad idea. I can't imagine this not being made into a crappy movie. A very crappy, very bad movie.

OTOH I'm really looking forward to some good machinimas made on Oblivion engine. This game has a great potential for machinima movies.
