Ages of dunmer.

Post by JimDaniels »

I know there is a post refering to this but I cannot locate it and I want to see what others views are on this.
How old do Dunmer live to? I know that Dram from Redguard was 252 years old in the game and he looked fairly fresh still.
Again, I do apologise for making another thread for this, but like I said, i just cannot find the original.

As far as I know, it's 120-130.

It's not unknown for a Dunmer to live to 200 though. In fact, some Dunmer can live for centuries, even millenia, with the help of magic! Divayth Fyr is a good example of this, he's reportedly 4000 years old.

I agree that magic can and does elongate life. I assume that Dram was "assisted" in his life by Sithis and probably by magics he used himself maybe? It's just something that I've had playing in my mind for a couple of days now. I know altmer live long magically enhanced lifes also, so I just was wondering of Dunmer did also.

Dunmer can live over a thousand years. Divayth Fyr is actually over four thousand years old.

However, they tend to be killed by disease, war and other things before they reach that age.

So, when, do you think, a Dunmer is considered "old"?

Ah right, I didn't know that. Do you have a link to the book that this was written in?

I've heard that 100 years is considered "getting old". But after hearing what Mars has said, I'm probably wrong.

The huge plot hole, here, is that the Dunmer have been revamped since Redguard. An Interview with a Dunmer said that a 150 year old Dunmer is old, however. Elves in general have been shown to live much longer, even in Morrowind. It is safe to say that the average Dunmer may live to even 400, and still be in their prime. Many npcs in Skyrim have been shown to be well over 200 years old, and they are still young.

So, we are all in agreement, The probability of a Dumer who lived in Vvardenfell in 3E 427 could be alive and well in Windhelm in 4E 201 is high? (disregarding violent death/disease etc)

Isn't there already a thread about the ages of the Elder Scrolls races?
