I kind of want this game and I kind of don't. I loved Borderlands for its stunning presentation, genuinely well written dialogue, gun pr0n and great gameplay, but at the same time it's such a flipdamn grindfest with nothing remotely interesting happening and a story that would do the world a bigger favour if it didn't exist that I seriously doubt I could put up with another one of it. Rocket launching shotguns start to get really old when you're using them to shoot Jason Vorhees for the 500th bloody time.

Re: Borderlands.
So my friend managed to find a way to open the golden gun crate in Sanctuary as many times as he wanted, without any keys. Now we all have really good gear.

Way to cheat the game, Sav. And suck all the fun out of it.
Trust me. It didn't suck any of the fun out of it. In fact, the weapons aren't too OP, and at our current levels are starting to not do as good.
Edit: If you go to Extras in the main menu, then shift code, then follow the instructions, you get a golden key for the crate.

Re: Borderlands.
In my experience, the Sanctuary chest was OK for a couple of hours, but eight levels later and I found a way better sniper rifle than the one I got from there. So it's more of an early game boost than a reliable place for loot, no matter how many times you go in there. I have a second key now, which I'm saving for the end of Playthrough 2, unless I hear it isn't worth doing that.

Re: Borderlands.
If you're looking for a good money/playing time ratio, Borderlands. I haven't played Dishonored yet but I can tell you now it's the more adult, mature game. You could pick any game on the market and it would be more mature than Borderlands 2.

Re: Borderlands.
I have considered buying Borderlands 2 but I'm a tightwad with money. I haven't even bought a game since Skyrim and that was a year ago LOL! Wow, time flies by, seriously I just realized I haven't bought a single video game in over a year, how can I call myself a gamer? I have just come to the realization that I am no longer a true gamer anymore like I used to be in high school and that blew my mind.
I do own Borderlands 1 though and I liked playing as Roland the soldier guy but I've never played it online so I never really got to experience the real Borderlands experience as I just soloed all the Arenas and what-not, it was a fun game and very enjoyable, I beat it on normal but a lot of the quests were repetitive but the dialogue was pretty funny although a bit too goofy at times such as with the NPC called Scooter commenting on his mothers "girl parts" throughout act 2.
The Zombie Island of Dr Ned was pretty fun too, I got pretty drunk one time and I actually killed zombies and collected brains for like 6 hours straight without getting out of my chair a single time which is pretty crazy. I'm pretty patient but I figured I would have used the restroom or ate something you know lol?
I'd give it like a 6/10 which is pretty good for me seeing as I find a lot of video games unmotivated and bland and more like a chore than fun which is why MMO's crush my soul and I can't stand them. Borderlands quest system was like an MMO but the gameplay was fun so I forgive it.

Re: Borderlands.
I'd say no, because 2 is pretty much just an (vastly) upgraded Borderlands 1, but if it's cheap, you might want to consider it.

Necropost (I asked a Mod, so it's cool).
Is Borderlands 2 on the Xbox 360 worth the $10 it costs right now?

Yes 100%. And despite what people say you don't need to play it with friends. I went through the whole vanilla game solo and enjoyed every last minute of looting.

Re: Borderlands.
I just recently started playing the second one. Starting to have fun with it. (I picked it up near Christmas, just now getting into it.)

Re: Borderlands.
I recently started playing number 2 again with my friends: a 3 Gunzerker run. It's so much fun! Oh, and I highly recommend all the DLCs.
