Best way to use the Ebony Blade for non-mages
I know that if you are a mage you can just use Dead Thrall to get 10 kills for the price of 1. However, if you are not a mage, what are your options? I know that Vampire's Servant can be used once a day and the same goes for the Ritual Stone. So that is 3 kills for the price of 1. Are there any other similar powers? Also, how long does it take for a body to disappear after being killed? In other words, if I use up my reanimation powers for the day and come back tomorrow, will the body still be there and still valid for Ebony Blade feeding?

If you have no intention to join the Dark Brotherhood, killing all of them in their hideout counts as killing a friend. So the blade is empowered and you earn 3,000 gold. I have no idea why a group of assassins are considered your friends though...

Actually, the character that I plan to use the Ebony Blade is a DB member.

I got the Ebony Blade before the Dark Brotherhood and it got 10 kills easily enough. for some reason people like a particular vampire counted as a friend and when I poisoned (through pickpocket) a soldier making his rounds from town to town I got a kill just because I had the sword equipped when he died.

Well if you are looking for people that will not effect your game much shen killed, Andurs, Whiteruns priest of Arkay is involved in two extremely minor quests. One, retrieving his amulet from the catacombs below him, and the other having an amulet delivered to him from Riften. Complete either of these and then kill him. Because when do you ever go into the Whiterun Hall of the Dead anyway.

I wish I could do that, but personally I can't kill non-hostile NPCs unless I have to. They're an endangered species in these games.Mr.Argonian wrote:Well if you are looking for people that will not effect your game much shen killed, Andurs, Whiteruns priest of Arkay is involved in two extremely minor quests. It could be that you're marked as a member of the Dark Brotherhood faction when you meet Astrid... Or maybe Mephala's just pleased that you're killing her enemies.Mr.Argonian wrote:I have no idea why a group of assassins are considered your friends though...
Thanks for posting this. My new character's a Morag Tong refugee from Morrowind. I was going to have her destroy the Dark brotherhood then recover the Ebony Blade but I'll do it the other way round now.

Yeah I discovered it on my Morag Tong character as well. The blade is actually incredibly powerfull on assassins. It gains power from the one handed perks which assassins will be choosing, it raises two handed skill which means more levels which means more perks, and the absorb health makes it possible to fight toe to toe when you are discovered and have lost your sneak.
