I love children, and im down for the long run when it comes to preteen and teenage portions of my children's life. I want one boy, but im fine with a boy and a girl as well. I just want to ween them off technology as I see now amongst the current youth, and for sure get them into martial arts.

I do want kids. At this point I don't care whether boys or girls, though I think I'd like 1 or 2. Every time I see my niece, I just light up inside, so I have to imagine that feeling multiplied by infinity if it were my own child, and that's a good thought.

No. I'm only 18 at this point, but I have absolutely no desire to have children, and I have absolutely no desire to get married.

I'd very much rather live away from humans and be surrounded by the animals I've come to regard as my closest and most trustworthy friends. I never have been a very social person. Whenever people are concerned, I'm always short-tempered and harsh. To get married and have children is just not suited for me.

I have never been really good with "grown up" people, but with kids... Since I was a kid myself I already knew I wanted to be a mother. When my little sister was born, I was sure that was born to the job.

Kids are wonderful, they are innocent, sweet, and if you are a good parent, with strong values, it's a 90% of chance that those kids will grow up to be good people.

If I had the money, (here in Brazil you have to pay for everything; you can't have a good education unless you pay.) I would love to have five or so. But nothing is perfect, so when the time comes, my boyfriend and I know that we will have at least two. But well, I am turning 19 next month, but I want to wait at least 8 years to make that dream come true.

I generally hate kids because they're loud, annoying and not well behaved but when I meet a kid that actually behaves/polite I love them because that is how I want raise my kid. It surprises me how parents let kids get away with anything these days and it's rare to see an actual responsible parent and I respect them when I do.

When I'm 30 I will start to think about having children because hopefully by then I will be financially stable with a good home and can support them.

Basically this.

I generally hate kids, but sometimes I meet some that are just precious. There's no other word for it.

But I don't think I'll want kids for at least another 15 years.

I am , contrary to most folks , looking forward to the point in time when , were i to theoretically have children, they become teenagers

i am a very immature and childish person , and i dont plan on changing, so i may get along with them, but then again , probably wont ..
but what fun is life with no challenge ?

Yes, in time, I'd like a boy and a girl, but I'd love 'em despite the gender.

I don't see myself having kids for a long time though, I'm only 22; I don't need to tie myself down just yet with fatherly duties.

I doubt I'll 'intentionally' have kids for about 10 years or so, although it's hard to say because I don't know how much I will change by then. That and Dean with kids... sounds a bit weird, and a bit scary to me. Getting married is a terrifying enough thought, don't you think?

2/3 of my sisters have kids now, and I just don't know how they cope with the crying, the feeding, the mess, and all the restrictions placed upon them. They are only in their 20's... and I'm now an Uncle.

I want to have kids one day. Not in the immediate future, I'm only 16. But once I have a good income and a nice house for sure. Even If I don't find 'the one' I'm willing to take other routes.

Can any one with kids say what you enjoy most about it?

I don't get how people can hate kids. Sure a lot of them are really hard to deal with, but that doesn't mean it's not worth it to have kids.

@Mattflan - The only good thing about kids is that you can use them to sweep chimneys. Oh, apparently that is illegal now.

@Frosty - Children are awful, it is easy to loathe them. Puppies are much nicer and superior on every way.

My niece peed in the middle of a hotel parking lot during a fire drill, the hotel management was not pleased.

The first few years with my little one were pretty much awful, but once they are able to talk and reason and use the toilet on their own, you can actually enjoy your time with them, rather than feeling like their constant slave.

I like having my daughter because she's a good person and has a lot of interesting observations and insights about the world, and forces me to think about what I do with my life. I feel like we both help each other grow, in different ways. If she were a total brat, I'd probably regret being a parent.

People keep telling me it'll all change when she becomes a teenager, but I don't buy it.

Nope, I got no delusions about kids, it's one of the main reasons why I don't want any right now. I don't have the patience at this point in time for the duties of a father, and the problems of a kid.
