"I have family in Lothering and Denerim." Andias said to no one in particular. He looked at the newcomers with curiosity, but otherwise remained quiet. His mind wandered back to Loghain, and the battle at Ostagar. He frowned, remembering his fallen comrades.

Sertin's fist clenched. She nodded simply, and turned away, ink dripped from a finger, in the light, almost looking like old blood.

Hali, ragged from both the battle and the imprisonment after, stumbled along behind the others. Her face was almost as dirty as her short, messily cut hair. The faded and filthy Dragon, green-on-white on her tunic was all too apparent. Gwaren's emblem, and Loghain's emblem.

"This makes no sense!" Hali protested, as she followed the others. Her usually cheerful, happy go lucky face was twisted by shock. "Why would the Teryn do this?!? There must be... Must be a reason!"

They're good kids. They have to be married first.
After Hali walked a tall, ragged man, eyes covered by a blue cloth. He walked with careful, yet sure steps, emitting scarcely-audible clicks with his tongue every few paces.

"Yeah, I don't understand why Loghain would do such a thing." Andias said, responding to Hali.

Spoiler:
Gideon, I was referring to the 'one night' part rather than the 'stand' part. Cuz I'm mean.
"It must have been... He must be acting in Ferelden's best interest. There's no other explanation!" Hali continued, her voice desperate. No-one wants to believe that their childhood hero is a traitor, and Hali was dead-set on believing otherwise.

"The Anderfels are basically under Warden rule, but Andraste be a liar if they're not too far away to be of any assistance." Hali said to Airmed quietly, raking distractedly at her short hair.

"Are you so surprised? It is the way of the shemlen, to get the edge they need and take what they want." Nareniel said bluntly in reply to the tactics of loghain.

"I meant in Ferelden. And Hali is right; they are too far away. Which is why it is imperative that we find our other two wardens before it is too late." Arathir said, crossing his arms. "We'll need to at least conceal ourselves; Loghain is hunting wardens after all. I'm the only one that can really be immediately identified..." he said, referencing his two differently colored eyes which would be a dead giveaway if someone were to try to identify him.

"...I'll just need an eyepatch. The rest of us might not be known to Loghain's men, but caution should be used regardless. And we should avoid direct contact with to Teryn himself. No doubt he at least remembers what we look like."

"Are we all going to have to shave our hair and grow beards?" said Airmed. She looked at her fellow elf. "So I take it you dislike humans. That's a shame."

"I'm a Warden first, but I'm still a daughter of Gwaren." Hali said, pressing a fist to the dragon on her chest. "We should have minimal trouble."

She didn't voice the disdain forming in her heart at the Dalish Elf's words. Loghain had been the greatest hero of the rebellion against the accursed Orlesians, and the idea that he had betrayed Ferelden for his own profit was a bald insult.

"We're going to Denerim. We may find our companions there first." Arathir said to the elf.
"I hope you're right, Hali... I hope that Loghain's men value your heritage over your affiliation with the Wardens."

"They don't have to honour my heritage." Hali said, with a faint smile. "They need to respect the dragon on my shield. They'll be looking for anyone but their own men."

"I could do one better." Hali said with as sunny a smile as she could muster. "We could take a sea route to Denerim, rather than the road. We can go to Gwaren and speak to them ourselves, before disembarking."

Hali glanced at Gideon for a brief moment, before immediately looking away. Every day since the battle, she regretted her rashness with the man more and more.
