New city mod
I have started making a new city mod, and I'm wondering if anyone is interested in joining the team. The city is located in the mountains of Hammerfell, across the border west of Chorrol. Deandra is already working on houses and NPC's, but we could use some extra hands. Even if you haven't modded much, you should still sign up. Ideas are always welcome. If you wanna join, please visit our forum.
I used to play Oblivion, then I took an arrow in the knee.

As far as what will set it apart, I'd say the fact that it's made by UESP members!
Even if you can't commit to a huge contribution, any level of help is appreciated, and will help make this mod be great. Even if you don't have Oblivion on the PC, you can still stop by the forums to do brainstorming, give us feedback on ideas, and help design quests.
A lot of group projects end up failing for a variety of reasons. Burnout, mismanagement, being overly ambitious, or simply not having the follow-through to get things done. None of those will happen with this project, though, because we're going to make sure not to get in over our heads. Part of that means that the scope of the mod will be determined by what people are actually willing and able to contribute, and that's ok. We're not writing a total conversion here, just trying to build a city and have fun while doing it.

I don't have much experience in modding, and no experience in texturing, but I'd be glad to help in any way I can.

For the Uniqueness of the City. Make it a living City, in that you start it, and make it grow.
1.) Add a Merchant to Anvil.
2.) Buy a plot of land from them.
3.) Buy Supplies to build a house from them.
4.) Buy Supplies to start a farm from them.
5.) Build a Coral/Stables.
6.) Have Wild Horses, that once you catch them & Ride them, you become the owner.
7.) Buy or catch wild sheep.
8.) Impoving your farm allows you to sell stuff.
9.) Hire a merchant and build a General store. Then every week you get a few hundred Gold. The more improvements mean more items to sell, and more gold each week.
10.) Someone else asks to buy a plot to build a home. Then someone else... ect.
11.) A Priest asks to build a Small Chapel (Caldew Chapel Size).
12.) It becomes a village.
13.) A few more Stores are built.
14.) build fences, upgrade to walls, then higher walls.
15.) Hire Guards.
16.) It becomes a town.
You can have money, time, & events be the triggers. Also types of upgrades have to be done, before others are available. i.e. need 4 Families before the Priest shows up. If you grow Wheat, then you can sell beer. If you grow grapes, you can sell Wine. Then you can have a Bar/Pub.
When you get sheep, you can sell mutton. When a Hunter moves in, you can sell Venision & Boar Meat.
As the town grows, so does your rank. You can become Mayor, or Count.

I'd be happy to help with the flavor writing. Letters, newspapers, quest explanations, whatever. Might be able to help come up with ideas for quests too.
My oblivion is broken though, and I'm too lazy to fix it, so I can't do anything that would require significant ingame testing.

Help? Help with what? They don't make a cure for stupid. You'll just have to play through the game all over again. - Butterknife
