Banus Alor (Dunmer), Gogron gro-Bolmog (Orsimer), Arquen (Altmer), Telaendril (Bosmer), Gabriella (Dunmer). I can only assume there would be more Mer in predominantly Mer provinces.

Oh, wow. How did I miss those?

Though, can we all agree that:

Hammerfell
Valenwood

I am wondering how it would work in Cyrodiil? Do you think the real Black Hand would allow it?
are both good?

Is the black hand still in existence? I haven't heard anything about them in Skyrim so I assumed they disbanded with the decline of the Dark Brotherhood.

I would assume Cicero was part of it, and I doubt the in game information tells us everything.

Are You sure Morrowind is a viable option? I'll have to look for sources but according to the Lore page of the Morag Tong it states that though they disbanded they plan to rise again. I don't think they would be too happy with the DB in their homeland.

The Dark Brotherhood did historically make a bid for power in Morrowind, but this ultimately failed and their 'Night Mother' in the region, Severa Magia, was slain, along with many others. However, if ever there were an opening for the Brotherhood in Morrowind, it would be in a time such as the 4th Era, when the Morag Tong and other such factions, did not have an established hold on power. Chaos and turmoil being good for business for those who follow he who is the opposite of Creation and Order.

Re: Dark Brotherhood (Club/Faction)

Well, as you can see by my username, I'm a fan of the Brotherhood. So I'm joining here. My preferred rank would be Speaker or Executioner, but anything above Murderer is fine with me.

Now, the survey:
Spoiler:
1.What made you want to become an assassin for Sithis?

Roleplaying. Sometimes I feel like playing as an Assassin, generally meaning a Dark Brother.

2. Who is your favorite Skyrim sanctuary assassin?
Does Cicero count? After him its Gabriella, close behind is Festus, with Nazir and Babette following.

3.What do you make of Astrid?

HARLOT AND BETRAYER!

She abandoned the Tenets, rejected the Night Mother, and ultimately wants both the Listener and the Keeper, both honored and revered positions in Brotherhood tradition, dead.

In fact, how can she call herself a member of the Brotherhood? She has betrayed everything it stands for. As Festus states, she has reduced the brotherhood to a group of common cut throats.. And somehow she considers herself a child of Sithis!?

4. What are your feelings toward Cicero?

The only source of sanity amidst Astrid's cesspit of madness (Irony intended). He is the only true member of the Brotherhood.

In fact, I say this:

Lucien was right. What that sanctuary needed was a good purification. And even though that would require the Black Hand to approve it traditionally, I think Cicero and the Listener should have been the ones to take such action, and restore the Bortherhood back to both greatness and tradition.

5. Do you hate the Penitus Oculatus?

Depends what I'm roleplaying. If I'm a child of Sithis, then yes.

6. Is there anything special you do when playing a Dark Brotherhood character (roleplaying-wise)?

Join the Brotherhood (obviously). I usually act either as a Brotherhood veteran, who survived Wayrest (being on a contract at the time) and fled, and/or as a descendant of Lucien Lachance. I always perform my assassinations to the letter, and often worship at the Night Mother's Coffin.

7. What is your favorite Dark Brotherhood related quote?

Ohh, there are to many, but I'll leave these rather memorable quotes:

Spill some blood for me, dear brother.
- Vicente Valtieri

Sithis is Master! All hail the Dread Father!
-Belisarius Arius

You know, a good Purification might be just what this Sanctuary needs...
-Lucien Lachance on the Falkreath Sanctuary

Etc Etc

8. What do you think would make a stronger Brotherhood?

More sanctuaries, larger numbers, more experienced assassins, and of course, the Tenets.

I'd have to say, as a first step, I'd have to support consolidating power in Skyrim. Founding a few more sanctuaries, and making political alliances (Like for example, both sides of the Civil War the Thalmor and the Forsworn).

9. Have you ever destroyed the Dark Brotherhood?

Yes, whenever I roleplay a 'good guy'.

10. What did you do with the money you earned from the last main assssination? Did you lie to Nazzir?

Rebuilt the Sanctuary, like any true child of Sithis would.

And what's the point of lying to Nazir? If anything, its breaking family trust, making me no better than Astrid.
Also, with that out of the way, I hope you don't mind me advertising a mod I'm working on, involving the Brotherhood. I'm trying to either bring them back to glory (in Skyrim at least) or allow the player to join the Morag Tong. If you are interested in helping, please visit this page: http://sdbm.userboard.net/ What we need are some modders, and some scriptwriters.

Well, its worth noting that the DB did in fact have a foothold on Morrowind during the Late 3rd Era. In Tribunal, for example, the player is attacked by them, and assaults their sanctuary in Mournhold. Whether or not they held that into the 4th Era is not known, however, it can be safely assumed it did not survive the Red Year.

It's doubtful that particular Sanctuary lasted after the Nerevarine got involved. The death of Severa Magia occurred around the same time, and the Dark Brotherhood didn't have a great foothold in the Province as a whole, as is my understanding. They may have had a stronger presence on the mainland, but the attacks we saw during Tribunal were indicative of real aggression on the Brotherhood's part, due to the relationship they had with King Helseth at the time (he was just a little corrupt and needed someone to do his dirty work, the Morag Tong being perhaps a little more bound by its code).

I agree that this would appear to be a good time since they are not there now but like I said according to the lore page, and I quote "After the Argonian invasion and destruction of Vvardenfell it was said by a former Morag Tong member who joined the Thieves Guild that the Morag Tong disbanded and vowed to rise again one day.". If the DB moved in it is possible they would be setting themselves up for failure in the future.

I'm currently searching for a source.

Both the Morag Tong and the Brotherhood are on there knees. However, the Brotherhood is in a slightly better position (actually remaining intact). If the Brotherhood did make its move into Morrowind before the Tong regroup, they'd have the advantage that the Tong had during Morrowind, an established position.

Also, I wonder how we feel about the idea of us giving each other contracts? For Example, if I were submit a contract on Nazeem's head, and we all go ahead and kill him (in our respective games).

You are in Sam.

About the whole contract thing, maybe we could work it in by doing this:

If someone has a burning hate for an NPC, it will be put in a certain section of the OP, then we could take the name down once the NPC is executed.

Anything wrong with a sanctuary in Hammerfell?

Firstly, I don't know what the 'OP' is.

And it wouldn't just be a burning hate thing. I suggested it because its just a bit of fun.

Also, I'd have to support a Hammerfell Sanctuary. But I still retain my view that we need to consolidate power in Skyrim first. We need an established center of power.

Also, thanks for making me a Speaker. I wasn't actually expecting the rank.

OP = Opening Post

I don't know if Skyrim is a could center of power, with the Penitus Oculatus hunting us down.

Cheers about the minor detail.

Also, I feel that the PO, following the Assassination of the Emporer and their leader, would be recalled back to Cyrodiil. The only reason they actually had an outpost (from my understanding) is because they were required to provide security for Mede's trip (EPIC FAIL).

Furthermore, for the Assassinations, we could go even further. Perhaps we are hired by the other UESP/Skyrim factions (such as the Stormcloak faction and Imperial faction) to eliminate targets. This could be done, rather ceremonially, by a representative of each faction sending you a PM, and then you relaying that to a Speaker, who submits it somewhere.

Maybe, that is kind of turning this thread into a roleplay, which it isn't.

They would be called right back to Skyrim if their were reports of the Dark Brotherhood.

The messages about who to assassinate would never be posted on the thread. You PM one of your speakers the target, and if the speaker feels it's below him he will pass it on to one of the lower ranks.

If the Brotherhood want to gain influence in Morrowind I suggest they do it quick before the Morag Tong gets it's act together

I have no problem with a sanctuary in Hammerfell, but I think the Brotherhood should open a sanctuary in the south of Tamriell before expanding to its north, that way we will be able to cover contracts more quickly.

Well, I know this thread isn't a roleplay, but what if we were to start one in another thread?

Perhaps if we were to put it to public opinion. I don't desperately want one, but I think it can be some fun.

Based on Nazir's comments, it would be safe to assume that there may be some in Hammerfell who think like he does. Maybe a Sanctuary there would be a good idea.

Well, if someone wants to make an RP thread on it, go ahead. That action is prohibited by me, because I already have an Rp.

Valenwood is in the South. Nothing seems to be dangerous to the DB there.

Sanctuaries in Hammerfell, Skyrim, Cyrodiil, and Hammerfell seem good.

Any more that should be added? Any that should be taken away?

We should make a Night Mother thread; where people can perform the black sacrament(post in the thread) and then a member will screenshot there killing of the NPC.

We don't need a thread for that as I said above. Imp picks the target, tells his speaker and if the speaker feels it's below him he will pass it on to one of the other Assassin, yo will then kill the target in game and report back on your success or failure. This will all be done by PM. If anyone wants me to expand on this idea PM me, but it's a fairly simple concept.
