Hello everyone!
I have a question about obtaining certain thralls in Skyrim. For the last couple of days I've been trying to find a couple of Master Vampires that I can reanimate. The thing that bites (pardon the pun) is that since my character is level 81, the boss vamps I'm running into are Nightmasters, Volkihar Masters, etc., and those cannot be reanimated even with the Necromage perk. I ran into this same problem while trying to obtain a pair of Dremora. By the time I obtained the Dead Thrall spell and the Necromage perk, my level was such that the Atronach Forge created a Dremora Valynaz which couldn't be reanimated. I needed the Markynaz to appear, but my level was too high. This has also been true of the Dremoras that spawn at the Shrine of Mehrunes Dagon. I gave up on them, and decided that I would just use a Fort. Conj. potion and summon two Dremora Lords for a long time. Now, I'm running into the same thing with these darned vamps. I actually found two already dead Master Vamps in Fellglow Keep, but they are equipped with ragged clothes and such. Of course, thralls will only wear the exact apparel they died in, meaning that I cannot give them anything cool to wear. So, I'm wondering if anyone has come across a location where enemies like Master Vamps are likely to spawn even at high levels. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Are you deadset on Master Vampires? There are many other powerfull thralls available to you. Because of Skyrim's reliance on player character level to spawn enemies, there is no place guaranteed to have Master Vampires. My advice is save outside a vampire lair like Maras Eye Pond or Haemars Shame and run through and keep reloading until one appears.

I would suggest some named powerful mage characters too. Some of these have unique abilities which they maintain as a thrall and most have a level cap so you should still be able to thrall them. I don't want to spoil their locations for anyone so check them out from the UESP wiki.
Malkoran
Drelas (should respawn after long periods of time)
Kornalus (my mage is currently having him as a thrall)
Orchendor (his location will never reset so you can always go retrieve him even if you killed him a long time ago)

Re: Locating Thralls...
Thanks to everyone for the advice. I thought about using other people as thralls, and I even collected a bunch of permanent corpses (like Orchendor) that I keep at Windstad Manor. I just like the Vamps because they have the glowing eyes and retain their dialogue. It just seems that they would be so intimidating to face. The plan was to get a couple of Master Vamps and then get purposefully arrested which will supposedly upgrade them to the immensely powerful Volkihar Master Vamps. This trick is the only way to obtain them as thralls. I'll take Mr. Argonian's advice and just wait around one of their lairs and see if I can get a Master to spawn. I also heard there are certain stretches of road that have been known to spawn them. If things become too tedious, I'll probably just thrall the two standard Volkihar Vamps that appear outside Movarth's Lair. They're pretty powerful as is, and I can tinker with their apparel to make them even more fearsome.

Be carefull when using that glitch. Once they die you will not be able to re-thrall them and will have to find two more master vamps.
