I think that is just a gameplay mechanic, we never actual did the true blackening, that required us to coat the bow, not arrows, with Serana's blood.Hissien wrote:It like putting a lense over the sun, blocking out the harmful magic that hurts vampires but allowing the life giving magic to continue forth.

Re: Question about magicka regeneration
It definitely seems like brainpower to me. If you used up all your magicka, then you'd feel woozy and maybe faint.

Re: Question about magicka regeneration
That also implies that all warrior only people are stupid, or at least less smart than mages, which just isn't true. Magicka isn't brainpower, it's a power from a god, and that is in the lore.

Re: Question about magicka regeneration
So if it's power from the gods, how are some able to "channel" it and others not? What does a mage "have to do" to be able to cast spells?
For instance, a warrior has to lift weights and exercise to maintain stamina in fights. Mages just read books and somehow concentrate like you'd see in some spiritual meditation? This sort of thinking would rely less on brainpower but a more 'spiritual'-like method, right?

Re: Question about magicka regeneration
You have to learn to store, and then channel the energy. Look at the inspiring mage. He could do neither of those things, the college said the magic was in the staff, not him. There is a process.

Re: Question about magicka regeneration
Spiritual power is more like a priest thing. Mages draw on the magic that leaks from Atherius through the sun and stars. They probably just learn to store more and more of it as you study the arcane and also the more you deplete the more full of magicka you become the next time maybe?

Re: Question about magicka regeneration
Hm, perhaps spiritual was a bad choice of word. I was talking how they would practice concentrating similar to like how Buddhist or asian religions do their spiritual mediation (hummmmm).
But you're right, mages have to 'channel' the magical energy. Asking how they do this is probably asking too much, nearing the impossible. I was thinking, as a mage as a circuit. Magical energy passing through all living things but some are able to control it into a circuit: a loop of magical energy within you...thus you have mana.
Which asks the question: how do you get more mana? Control the loop better or can you increase the input you receive from the stars?
