Daedric Princes and Offspring?

Post by Unionhack »

So I've seen allusions to the possibility of the Daedric Princes having children with mortal women (in the vein of the Greek/Roman Gods) in some unofficial sources, and I was wondering; has this kind of thing ever been talked about in any part of the lore? Is it in some way possible?

There's also the young Nedic girl Molag Bal raped to create the first Vampire, although the "offspring" was a hideous disease and not a physical being.

The lore actually contradicts itself repeatedly on Daedra and sexual reproduction. More than one sources states they cannot create under any circumstance, but many stories speak of Daedric offspring, but usually from Princes and not Lesser Daedra. This could also be metaphorical, however, and they could be adopted children rather than blood offspring. Another possibility is that the Prince sliced off a small soul fragment and placed it in a mortal body, making it a "son/daughter", but this contradicts the Daedra's reluctance to lose bits of one's self. Since Clavicus Vile did this to create Umbra we know it sometimes happens, though.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.
