Started Over and noticed something new...

So Im now an XBOX360 owner and started a new character last night. I was poking around Dragons Reach last night collecting gold from all the end tables and dressers and i came across a locked door by the Jarl's quarters. The door cannot be picked and requires a key. Does anyone know what that door leads to?

the only locked door i know about is downstairs in the kitchens and relates to a daedric quest

I believe it is related to the Whispering Door quest. If you're still level 1 you can't start it yet.

actually im quite proud, bought skyrim after work and after all the updates for both the XBOX and Skyrim, i had enough time to get to level 5... and cant wait to get home to keep going.

speak with Yarl Balgruf's kids (you will need to get a rumour from the barmaid in bannered mare first i think) and you will find out what the door leads to..

I think you need to be at least level 11 to get the rumor, maybe higher.

I was level 15 when I got the rumor. I talked to the owner of the bannered mare, and she told me that one of the Jarl's kid was acting strange. Then go to dragons reach, talk to one of the boys, and he will tell you about the door. Then you get a deadric quest.

I just read this at the wiki and was about to clear things up. Sorry for the giving the wrong info!
