A suggestion, from me, for RP would be Falmer incursion.

That's actually a pretty good idea.House of the Wolf wrote:A suggestion, from me, for RP would be Falmer incursion.
We could utilize Knight-Paladin Gelebor in that situation. Perhaps try to establish a communication line with the Falmer leaders while fighting off their militant forces.
Or it could be an RP for a later time. Maybe the second or third Legion campaign.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
We could also do something where Gelebor laments the actions of the Dominion and shows us some ancient magicks useful to combating them. That might be stretching it, but it's plausible.

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
We could begin the RP straight after the civil war ends, with the Thalmor believing the Empire is as weak as it's ever going to be as it as has no Emperor and has lost many men combating the Rebels. We can be part of a group of soldiers who fight there way all the way from Solitude down to the southern tip of The Summerset Isles. Though this RP would probably be better left until we've done an RP about the Civil and then transfer the characters from one RP to another.

Maybe we could have a PvP RP involving both factions.

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
I was thinking that but who would DM, they would not want to be part of either faction. I would hope it would contain parts similar to Astrum, with some players commanding entire details of men into battle but combine it with players who control the soldiers being ordered into battle.

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
So a War RP? There was a Skyrim War RP before. It was DMed by Duruza.
I think a PvP one would be quite good. Arch-Mage Matt had some good mechanics when he was doing PvP in his RP (the Marukhati).

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
For PvP would we not need a lot of players to make up squads on both sides. Say at least ten on each side. The rest of the squad being made up of DM played characters or we could control more than one character each?
Whatever we decide to do we will probably need to wait for the rest of the RPs to die down.

You wouldn't need that much. It doesn't have to be an army on an army. It could just be a raiding squad vs. a small contingent of defenders.

Sign me up! Now for the survey...
1.Well seeing as half of the Stormcloak supporters and Skyrim are jerks. That kind of sways me. But I also like their uniforms, and their dedication.
2.Legate Fasendil. He knows what the Thalmor are really up too. And I applaud him for that.
3.The Empire is better for Skyrim, because let's look at it this way. The Empire was already in a bad situation with the Thalmor. The Stormcloaks came out and turned that bad situation into a catastrophe. And, the Stormcloaks always say that the Empire was weak for signing the contract with the Thalmor. But that's really not the case. The Empire made a smart move, which would have allowed them, in time, to overthrow the Thalmor.
4.Elisif should be High Queen. For these reasons: she is one of the nicer Jarls, it is kind of her right to be High Queen, and take Torygg's place, and she cares about the people. Unlike Ulfric, who cares about himself, and just himself.
5.Septim Empire, no contest. I think Mede is doing a passable job, but I would prefer a Septim on the throne. It just feels, right.
6.I like to honor my dead comrades who have died in battle. I typically try to arrange the bodies in a position where you can see how bravely they fought. I do it for Stormcloaks too. They fought honorably, and were rather brave, though foolhardy, they were still brave.
7."I don't fight for the glory of the Empire, nor do I glory in the death of my kinsmen. I fight to bring peace and order to my homeland."-Legate Rikke.
8. I really don't like the ban on worship of Talos. For starters, the Thalmor probably just used the ban to incite the rebellion, giving them an excuse to come into Skyrim, so they could basically control it. Second, I admire Talos.
9. Nope! And I don't plan on doing so.
10. Hmmm... I would try to reason with the Stormcloaks, instead of obliterating them on sight. I would unify the Empire and the Stormclaoks, and with our combined might, overthrow the Thalmor.
11. Am I allowed to use my ranger class style, with dual-wielding and Archery and all that? If not than the closest I would have to say Battlemage. I prefer the ranger though..
Sorry if I did anything wrong, it's my first time posting.

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
So I know the RP focus right now seems to be revolving around the Legion vs. Stormcloaks and the events of Skyrim and so forth, but in the future if we ever shifted away from this, how about Titus Mede I's conquest of the Imperial City for an RP? I think that would be interesting, because instead of defending it like in Oblivion, we would be the conquering enemy. The Lord of Souls also mention how the city was controlled by some necromancer named Thules the Gibbering (or something along those lines) before Mede.

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
A war against the Thalmor seems unfeasible, especially right after a lengthy and costly war against the Stormcloaks.
Maybe a campaign to further stabilize Skyrim beforehand would be best.
Suppress or make peace with the Forsworn, the Falmer, and other militant threats.
Perhaps diplomatic missions to Hammerfell, Argonia and Elsweyr to undermine the Thalmor influence and rebuild old alliances.
Maybe an alliance with the Blades.
Thules was a Witch Warrior, which might mean Necromancer, but the way I read it was he was a Nibenese sorcerer elected by the Council because he was their crony and easy to control.
The novel also mentions that a warlord named Eddar Olin tried to take the Imperial City back from Titus Mede after his army took it.
I think an RP revolving around Titus and his conquest would be fascinating.
It could include the campaign to take Colovia first. Perhaps recruit the Knights of the Nine and the Fighters Guild, and recover artifacts like Lord's Mail and Chrysamere for Titus to strengthen his claimant to the throne. Artifacts associated with past Emperors like Talos and Reman, like Tiber's armor and the Boots of the Apostle would be a nice touch.

Would the RPs focusing around the Legion only be able to be joined by people in the Legion faction? Some of these ideas sound cool.

Right. I knew he was something like that. But anyways it could be assumed he dabbled in some taboo magicks. And whatever those structures are that Colin hides in I don't think they where used for things the public was supposed to hear about. But I could be totally misguided on the subject, I find some of Keyes text hard to understand for some reason. But anyways, I don't have the Lord of Souls at hand right now, but there was allot of interesting things said about the Minister, Aylied Magic, and the Synod and College of Whisperers. Perhaps those they could also be involved.Thules was a Witch Warrior, which might mean Necromancer, but the way I read it was he was a Nibenese sorcerer elected by the Council because he was their crony and easy to control.

I would imagine someone in an allied or neutral faction could join too, but that's up to Dika.
Honestly, the entirety of the information we receive about Titus and his conquest of Cyrodill consists of around two entire paragraphs spread across both books. The books themselves don't even mention Ocato being Potentate before Thules took over.Anonymous98223 wrote:

However, the Thalmor is mentioned, and the minister Hierem is implied to be allied with them and the Elder Council, and was part of the old Septim Empire. It's mentioned he has been around "forever" in the government, and gradually been promoted. It's possible Thules was a crony of his and they were both Thalmor agents, and involved in Ocato's death. This could lead up to the unrest where Titus takes over.

Mede's conquest is my favourite idea so far, perhaps it would be best to start with that before moving on to the civil war.

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
I could get behind a Titus Mede I RP.
That would naturally take place pretty far back in time as compared to the other ideas, and in Cyrodill, but it's doable. We'd have to work out the dynamics of how exactly we'd go about it.
The good thing about this time period is that Mede himself would be more of a general-king than an Emperor, and would have a front line position. There's a pretty good passage from Lord of Souls where a Penitus Occulatus agent is sizing the old man up, and determines that Mede would be able to kill him alone without help from his body guards.

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
It takes a while to read two whole novels. More than a few days, really, if you have other stuff to do as well.
I'd suggest reading the lore synopsis of them at the Imperial Library. UESP for some reason never uploaded anything for the second book but has details about the first.
TIL pretty much has all the important stuff covered, though. It's like an abridged version of the books' important parts.

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
For the Mede RP, are we assuming the standard infantry-armor was that of TESIV (Medieval-style), or that of TESIII/TESV (Roman/Greek-style)? One of the explanations for the reversion in style was that the Cyrodiil garrisons used the prior, while the foreign garrisons used the latter, so I was curious which you think we should account for?
