So this morning, I made crepes for breakfast. Which I pronounce like the French crêpe (hearing it as "crape" irritates me, for some reason) but then I add an s at the end, cause it's plural, and plural words have an s at the end, right? :D

I know how to say it correctly in both English and French, but in the end I pronounce it like my parents did, because for years they were the only ones I heard talking about them. My childhood friends only knew about American style pancakes.

If you mean the names for the manners and places of articulation, once you learn to understand the mouth, throat, and vocal chords, it all makes sense. All sounds are categorized by three things: where they are made in the mouth (place of articulation), how they are made (manner of articulation), and whether or not your vocal chords vibrate. :D

The symbols suck, and vowels are confusing. But it's very straightforward.

Rant: Why do they have to call them stupid names? Why couldn't they call them:

Back of throat, far back of throat, could be back of throat but we don't really care etc.

I hate my new Religion teacher , i mean most of them are a bit irritating (DEATH TO AMERICA!!! types ) but this guy is an absolute [&@%!]

for example : While taking a lesson about the supposed Perfection of the Qur'an , i asked a question about how ''even if another Book similar to it came along , Muslims would refuse it'' however , instead the guy childishly repeated that ''They cant , They cant , but they cant , but they never did , but they cant'' before eventually telling me to be quiet and saying my question wasnt relevant to the lesson .. anyways , a couple of minutes later we were still on the same lesson , and another guy raised his hand and asked the following question : ''Is Masturbation Haram ?'' ... and the teacher went into a long answer about that ....

right .. and I was off topic .. :x

Random story:
My daughter was asking me about vowel sounds in Spanish, and I told her that they don't really distinguish between a German e sound and the English short e sound. Somehow the conversation turned to dipthongs, and I explained to her that in English, there are some sounds that are two vowel sounds glued together that get treated as a single vowel. I said the English long A and the German e sound so she could hear the difference. And then my boyfriend told me how they both sounded the exact same, and that I was crazy for thinking they sounded different.

He only hears them as one phoneme. I probably would, too.

Rant: 500 words is not big enough, professor. I thought this was graduate school! How am I going to condense this all into 500 words?

People that don't understand what "RPG" means. Is n Role-playing game. As In what skyrim and what almost every single other Bethesda game is.

What do you do in a role-playing game? Well, this is a wild guess but I'd assume you roleplay... So quit complaining about the lack of content or boasting about getting all of the achievements..

HA! You and me both. I've had an issue with my school this week that has enraged me to no end. I haven't even called the lady back I am still so angry at her. I just wish PEOPLE WOULD DO WHAT THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO DO! Especially in a professional setting and when it has to do with MY money. [&@%!] jerks man. I already have the homework stressing me out because we are almost done with our first year, and now this [&@%!].

And its not like I can be rude to them because well, they are Yogis. That is the worst of it, that they should be more ethical in the way they handle people's money.

Now I need to go to work. With a bad attitude.

Down here people have a nasty habit if saying "that's because" when they mean "in spite of the fact".

Example: Look how much signal I have on my phone, and that's because I'm inside!

No, idiot, it's in spite of the fact you're inside.

Yeah. Language is pretty awesome. I find non-native English speakers really struggle with the idioms and colloquialisms, not to mention the dialectal stuff. My British friends always say things that I find hilarious and nonsensical...I wish I could recall some of the better ones, now.

Cup Cakes! Paid £2 for a cup cake so small a mouse fart would blow it to Australia. Not bad enough that it was small the butter cream tasted like it was wrung out of the mouse's butt hole and the actual cake base was stale.

It annoys me when people are talking about a show I like but due to no fault of my own I am far behind them. They end up spoiling loads of things. They usually aren't doing it on purpose just to be [&@%!]. They assume everyone present who cares about the show has seen the latest episodes. I mean if you are talking to your friend next to you on the bus it would be unreasonable to expect you not to talk about it in fear that someone behind you overhears the conversation. Really it annoys me more on the internet. There many more steps can be taken to avoid spoilers. Of course by the time I catch up to everyone else they are probably just about to get new content so I can't talk about it. To be honest the whole thing makes me feel like Roy in that one episode of the IT crowd. It is not my fault RTE just finished showing series 2 of The Walking Dead and I won't be able to see series 3 for at least another 8 months or so. The same is true of Dawnguard, it is not my fault Bethesda haven't released it on PS3 yet. If you are talking in "The Walking Dead" thread or some kind of Dawnguard discussion thread then unmarked spoilers are fine, just avoid spoilers in the title of the thread. Also after a few years have passed it is generally fine. I just hope people *cough* Baloth *cough* won't spoil stuff on me before I get to watch it.
