Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
What if the RP took place before the events of Skyrim and Ulfrics capture and explored the beginnings of the conflict and how each side acquired the Holds they begin with in-game. That way we wouldn't need to worry about the Dragonborn and the alternate universe idea might not be necessary. And as long as neither side wins than it wouldn't be all that lore breaking. I mean must the defeat of the Stormcloaks and unification of Skyrim be the main goal of the RP, maybe some other goal and conflict could be involved.

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
I'd prefer an RP that was set in the Civil war, because we know more about the main people and main events on each side of the war and for the reason that how the great war ends is canon, with the signing of the The White-Gold Concordat and the Thalmor forces withdrawing from Cyrodill, whilst in the Civil war either side can win as the outcome has not been decided yet.Anonymous98223 wrote:Must an RP be about the Civil War in Skyrim, perhaps it could take place in the Great War. Or any other conflict the Legions been involved in.
I would prefer there to be no Dragonborn as he's just too powerful and can sway the outcome of the war in any direction he chooses. Though it would be nice to still have Dragons and it would be interesting to see how players react when a dragon comes upon a fort they are attempting to raid or a patrol comes across a Dragon on a march across the Whiterun plains and has to defeat it. All in all they would make good filler material so we don't just go from battle to battle.
My question is, is who would DM ?

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
I think the three Legates and the OP of this thread should all co-DM and share ideas, to keep it balanced.
Also, I like the idea of finishing the war more than setting it up, personally. It would be a very anti climactic ending otherwise.

Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

There would be literally nothing to do in a Legion RP set during that time except to continually lose, since the Legion was all throughout Skyrim before the events of the game. It's stated that Ulfric took several holds in the months leading up to the game. If we did an RP for that time period it would consist of a lot of dying and retreating and not much else. I can't fathom much of a way to do that right. It's like torture [&@%!].

I have effectively defected from the Stormcloaks. There may not be a Nord, or anyone of Nordic descent, on the Imperial throne, but it's still an empire of Nords.

Welcome, soldier.
We could use more local recruits. Helps show the people of Skyrim that we are of kindred blood, something they often forget.
Between you and me, I'd keep those views on Talos to myself. I won't turn you in, but if the wrong ears hear that message it could mean court martial or worse. Just looking out for a fellow soldier.
For the record, you may be interested in reading the biography of Attrebus Mede. Some people call it the "Infernal City" saga. A lesser known historical account which was overshadowed by the events preceding and following it, sadly. Attrebus settled down with a very courageous and resourceful Breton girl. Our very own Emperor Titus Mede II is at least partially of Breton blood, as were many of the Septims. The Nord blood also runs strong in Old Colovia. Did you know my dear old dad was at least half Nord? I'd wager Titus I had more than a little Nordic blood in his veins. In any event, this promises to be an interesting campaign. Perhaps you'll be assigned to my unit.

I have some news from the east. On my way from Windhelm, I noticed an enemy encampment along the southern banks of Lake Yorgrim.

Although I believe Morrowind is claimed by the empire by the time of Skyrim. Hence the relativity I guess.

During the time of the Infernal City sure. But there's been talk that they had left Morrowind by the time of Skyrim or something, and that they're invasion force wasn't occupational. And somewhere I read that the Imperials lay claim to it.

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
The Argonians never occupied Morrowind. They invaded, sure, and drove Dunmer out to humble them, but they really only settled into the Dres territories in the far south. Also, there's a ton of dialogue from at least a half dozen Dunmer characters in Skyrim indicating Morrowind is being rebuilt and repopulated by Dunmer. I'd say it's still a nation, but a weakened one, and an ally of the Empire. If not for the way Dunmer are treated in Windhelm, many of them would possibly support Skyrim, though, since it was Skyrim who independently offered them sanctuary after Red Year.
The IC stuff, I'm not gonna get into TOO much here. I think it'd be better to save that for the actual RP. I did my little thing to welcome a new player into the clan.
edit: If you want a reference, seriously just play the game again. Do missions for Dunmer. Talk to as many Dunmer as you can. The way they talk about Morrowind makes it pretty clear it's still a thing, not a piece of land occupied by Argonians, but a nation of Dunmer.

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
To clarify about the state of Morrowind, since it's worth discussing since some of our soldiers might be Dunmer, there's no proof Argonians don't still occupy parts of northern Morrowind, but the fact that several organizations of Dunmer culture seem to still be active, such as House Redoran and on Vvardenfell no less, and there's dialogue references to Dunmer returning to live in Morrowind again, I'd say if there are still Argonians there, they're not resisting the Dunmer settlements too much.
Honestly, I don't think they ever intended to claim the land as part of Black Marsh. It was more to teach their oppressors a lesson and it was largely driven by direction from the Hist. It was more a show of power than anything. I don't think the Argonians have the numbers or resources to maintain a large population in two provinces.

Also , i vote No on the Dragonborns involvement , UNLESS :
we do a comedy RP , in which five recruits each help each other to fight a Dragon in a cave , all are knocked uncouncious during the fight but the dragon dies from its wounds afterwards , and then after they are awakened by reinforcements , they discover the dragons flesh to have dissapeared fom the bone , marking the loss of its soul . thus begins a massive adventure involving each of the five going through mad things due to the sudden suspision that one of them could be the Dovahkiin , and the possible stories that follow ,and their superior officers deciding how to handle the situation
i dunno , it sounds fun to me
