Not only am I satisfied with the Hearthfire DLC, I'm excited about it. There may be plenty of house mods for PC players, but if you browse the comments you will find most of them are buggy as hell. While I'm assuming Hearthfire will be buggy upon its release, I'm also assuming those bugs will eventually be corrected by the folks who gave us the Unofficial Skyrim Patch. My experience with Oblivion mods tells me not to expect house modders to do the same for their own, so I'm really looking forward to this.

Although you can own all three if you wish. That's okay with me though because those are the only areas that you can't have a home besides Winterhold, but it's dead anyway. I've always wanted a cabin in the woods :D

I was hoping for Whiterun for its central location but Falkreath will do.

Hopefully I'm wrong and those are only a few locations, but at least they chose new spots.

I like how they are also adding the ability to adopt children.

Yeah, this.

I'm satisfied. While I'm on PC and can download a lot of mods with same features, I would still rather have the official thing since many mods are a bit buggy and you always have to be careful about mod conflicts. I also like the overall idea of this DLC. It helps the roleplaying aspect since I can customize houses for each character. I also like the chance to adopt. When I was playing as my first rather evil assassin type character, I suddenly got this urge to make him adopt the kid who was trying to contact the Dark Brotherhood. I found it to be a rather nice touch to his character although I couldn't actually do it. Now that I can adopt (although probably not that particular kid), it makes the roleplaying more fun.

I'm satisfied with Hearthfire. I like the idea of being able to create my own home!

I only hope that they release the other races of children.

If anything he PC players should be happy that Bethesda chose to waste Microsoft's Exclusivity deal on Hearthfire. What if they made a giant DLC that Xbox got first again?
I'm not sure I saw anyone saying Bethesda already made enough money. I do know that I said that I believed that Bethesda could provide more content for the same price and still make better profit margins than they did for Skyrim. The main motivation for my little rant, I've bought a total of three PC games in the past 10 years so the current state of the gaming industry is coming as a surprise to me. I did most of my gaming during the 90's. Perhaps my memory of games at that time is idealized but as I recall things when companies sold additional content for games this content added enough play time to the game to justify its price or it flopped.

I admit that $20 for Dawnguard and $5 for Hearthfire is fairly small but with future dlcs on the horizon the price will add up. The gaming industry has always done everything it could to squeeze every penny out of early adopters but seeing how far things have gone is disappointing. There is a good chance that I may buy future dlcs for Skyrim but if this is a reflection of how Bethesda markets it's content I will be doing more research when I'm ready to buy another game whether it's from Bethesda or some other company.

It's true that game companies seem to be trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of its customers these days, and it may seem like Bethesda is just trying to put a logo and price tag on the house-building feature that's already available from mods, but I think their main market for Hearthfire is console gamers like me. This is my first opportunity to build a house/adopt kids in Skyrim, and I'm happy about it. I certainly won't have a problem in handing over a meager $5 (or 400 MS Points).
Start the groove.

A bit of weirdness regarding the adoption thing. One of the children in the trailer, Lucia, seems to be a new NPC added by Hearthfire. The other child, Gralnach, already exists in Skyrim at Heartwood Mill. Although his father, Leifnarr, is dead, Gralnach still lives there with his mother Grosta, therefore he isn't an orphan. I'm wondering if he's just a beta-version NPC used to test/develop the DLC, or will he become adoptable somehow in Hearthfire.

I'm definately going to buy it. and any and all DLC released afterwards and any and all TES games released after that. Why? Because I enjoy the series and the whole experience of it. I don't care if Bethesda make £10 million or £10 billion from games as long as I don't have to pay excessively for them. And for 400 ms points I am happy to pay that.

One possibility is that if a child's parents are killed by a dragon or vampire attack, the child will become available for adoption. I hope that's the case. It would make for interesting RP.

I am satisfied. The Arch-Mage deserves his own place on the glacial fields of Winterhold near enough to the College for it to be easy, but he at last gets some peace and quiet.

This is how I feel about it in the end. I think I'll give up on joining in to this type of thread for awhile, because at the end of the day I really couldn't care less what other people think of the games and content. As long as the series continues and I can play the games I'm happy. Seeing how other people are displeased makes me think too much about the negative sides of things and I'd much prefer to focus on the positive.

I'm only "satisfied" with the price I have to pay. :) Obviously I cannot comment on the content as all I have seen of it is in a short video. But I doubt it is the same "reasons", It might be because of the same rationale but to be fair, I'm only nitpicking ;) But honestly, I don't understand the negitive responce to this small DLC. It's not even a year since the game in itself has been released and there are 2 DLC's so far. In my opinion thats good going seeing as Beth has other games on the table at the same times. And no doubt are developing more content/games for the future. Yeah, not everyone likes to play with an RP style and yeah it doesn't appeal to everyone. But thats the beauty of DLC's, if YOU don't want them, You don't HAVE to buy them! (Shocking isn't it!?! ;) ) People are expecting alot in a relatively short passage of time. Yes, it is a content that is already in a mod and thats great that there are mods(for PC players) and yes some mods are extensive and gorgeous looking pieces of gaming and great add-ons to a great game. But honestly, how often do you get a mod the size of say, Dawnguard, from a fan modder that has other projects on the go at the same time? I'm not saying you can't or don't, but it is unusual. Basically what I'm saying is, no one is going to be overly surprised by this DLC and no one is going to be "hoodwinked" into buying it. So basically, if you don't like the look/content, then you are under no obligation to purchase it. :)

*Edit* I should say also that I have always been satisfied with bethesdas work in TES in the past and the cost associated with it and therefore have no reason to expect that Hearthfire will dis-satisfy me. Like Dr Phil says "The best indicator of future behavior is past behavior." :D

I don't have any problem with Dawnguard (well except maybe the price) but I don't intend to spend 5 bucks for a DLC that brings such little content. I don't see why people are so butthurt over the fact that some of us don't wanna give all our money whenever a DLC is released, no matter how useless it is. I spent 55€ for a game that I played for around 400 hours, I'm not spending 5 more to play for, what, 2 hours?

If you wanna buy Hearthfire, that's fine to me. But I don't like it, don't want it and won't buy it.

I think the problem here is thinking, play time = how much game should cost, in that case solitar should cost billions of dollars!

I can respect that you dont want to buy it but do you get that I belive Beth is not trying this for "add more hours" but rather add something MANY of the fans want.

Why would anyone (apart from maybe PC users) be dissatisfied with this DLC? It adds more content for barely any cash. If anyone 'expected more' your a moron. They just released a BIG expansion a couple of months ago. They don't grow on trees.
