Im interested in knowing what my fellow PS3 users are doing to pass the time while we wait for ANY DLC (if there is any) for PS3 users to come out. Ive been roaming Skyrim killing off people that are jerks to me or trying to discover new locations.
How about you?

Of course PS3 user's will get it. From what I understand, they have come across a few bugs on the PS3 which they want to iron out before releasing anything. I think a bit of patience is in order, I am sure you will get it eventually.

Yeah of course the DLC will come out for the Ps3 players, Bethesda won't do that to it's customers (I hope). Also random side note: All the people who commented nicely are Xbox/PC players.. Hmm..

Re: PS3 users
As a PS3 user I do hope they release them. I had always thought it would be released on PS3 but now, a month after we were expecting it, the "bugs" have not been fixed and i wonder if they may just give up on releasing the other DLC's to PS3, it could just be too hard for them.

While Bethesda is (probably) working hard on PS3 DLCs, I'm writing in "my" thread Back to Morrowind.
I'm considering if I want to spend my money for any more Skyrim content when I see how Bethesda treats their players...

OH MY GOD, merely ten minutes after I say they may give up on releasing the DLC's, I find this article on IGN.
http://au.ign.com/articles/2012/08/31/s ... ver-happen
Apparently they are struggling to fix Dawnguard and they "are not confident" that PS3 may even recieve Dawnguard.

To recapitulate - No Morrowind on PS3, no Oblivion trophies on PS3, not all official plugins on PS3, probably no Dawnguard on PS3. Bethesda should tell us why we should continue to buy their stuff...

I bought PS3 because of some exclusive games I wanted to have/play. It became my main gaming system, this is why I bought Oblivion and Skyrim for PS3. But as I see it now, I will probably think hard about buying next TES game. What a shame that Bethesda ruined thmeselves (the games are rather ok, but Bethesda's approach is ... confusing to me - at least).Imperfect Three wrote:And this is why I don't buy Bethesda games for the Ps3, I don't see why it's so hard for them on there. This is just because of money. Why should they make three (same) games on each system and optimise each of them and spend a lot of money on it, if they can just make one game and somehow get it working on all three platforms and have the same income, but reduced costs? And PS3 and Xbox users still have to pay more for it. For the game which runs worse than on below-average PC.

This is disturbing news indeed. What if Dawnguard is simple to make for the PS3 and Xbox is just bribing Bethesda to cease production of Skyrim add-on content for Playstation and 'broken' dlc is just an excuse. It certainly wouldn't surprise me if Microsoft were using dirty methods to damage the competition.

What you say may be even true. But this will put dirt only on Bethesda, because each platform has its own games (ie. PS3 has GT5, Final Fantasy series, ...) that will keep their fans.Tiber-Septim wrote:Mr.Argonian wrote:OH MY GOD, merely ten minutes after I say they may give up on releasing the DLC's, I find this article on IGN.

I think we will see DLC on PS3 (max. 3 months from now), but I personally will be so disgusted by Bethesda's approach that even if it brings me something like Shivering Isles did to Oblivion, I will not buy it.

I think most likely, considering the amount of time and money invested in bringing Dawnguard to PS3, we will get it, but most of the other big DLC's they will simply not bother because it is just too hard, too expensive and too long and they would most likely not make a profit from it.

Re: PS3 users
That's not just a complaint you can throw at Bethesda though—all companies who release multi-platform games follow this same pattern. It is no doubt partially because of money (nothing wrong with that, as it doesn't affect the games too much), but also due to time constraints. I would imagine it would take a terribly large amount of time and man-power to release three separate games that are really all the same, when they could otherwise modify the "same" game to work for three systems. The latter is the much smarter move. If companies did the former they would never make any money and then we would never see any games.Pavouk106 wrote: I bought PS3 because of some exclusive games I wanted to have/play. Re: PS3 users
I disagree with you here, Skyrim is already available on PS3 and you have not yet paid for Dawnguard meaning they have not "screwed" you out of anything. You paid for Skyrim and they have produced that game and supported it to the best of their ability. Would you prefer they rush the release of DG and have it contain many game breaking bugs (most of which I believe are performance wise) or hold off and actually fix those bugs? I think the latter sounds more like something from a company that "values their players" than if they where to release it straight away and not care how poorly it runs. Adding to this when people that use PS3 have comments like "And yes - I won't buy DLC for Skyrim even if it comes out" probably doesn't inspire Bethesda to work on that content rather than something people actually will buy.Pavouk106 wrote:![]()

Bethesda should be ashamed of themselves! They might as well make all ES games exclusive to XBOX/PC since they refuse to release DLC to PS3 users. And I doubt we will see any DLC.

Re: PS3 users
Look what they did with Oblivion. Xbox had trophies - why PS3 didn't? It can't be that tough to add them... They even came out with 5th anniversary edition which, surprisingly, had not trophies too.GoatLiver wrote:I disagree with you here, Skyrim is already available on PS3 and you have not yet paid for Dawnguard meaning they have not "screwed" you out of anything. Skyrim - other players (Xbox/PC) can play Dawnguard for month now. This simply tells me, that Bethesda doesn't care about PS3 players. Yeah, they may be working hard on it, but they should do that before the initial release for the first platform...
They should simply release it on all three at once. Maybe they would have made second DLC meantime and they could get them out both at once.
Performance problems and mounted combat... everyone knows.
They are going down pretty fast for me. The game is not that bad, predecessors are great too. Bethesda's approach is the bad thing here.
And I'm adding one more thing to "I won't buy any DLC" - I will think hard about buying next TES game. They will have to impress me much more to even think about it. And if I buy the game in the future, it will be for sale-price, not pre-order (like I did with Oblivion Collector's + DLC + Shivering Isles and with Skyrim). I will simply wait for late reviews.
And I have registered at Bethesda forum. I have something to tell them.

Re: PS3 users
Look while this situation is not ideal, and I really do wish Bethesda could fix all these problems, I do think GoatLiver has the right idea. While they released Skyrim with many game breaking bugs, they continued to support it and now it is fine. If Skyrim was held back for, say a month, on PS3, can you imagine the outcry from so many PS3 users around the world. Bethesda would have so much hate. So they released Skyrim and continuingly supported it.
Now with Dawnguard, Bethesda do not have to give it to us, they are doing their best to give us something that everyone will enjoy, and all these negative comments are really not helping. Saying you are disgusted with Bethesda's treatment of PS3 users and declaring to never buy any Bethesda product, DLC or game, is not helping anyone. Comments like that will only increase the likelyhood we will not recieve the other DLC's. And if there is a DLC relating to the war with the Thalmor, I am sure we will all want to play it. And any way, not matter what you say, when TES:VI is released I am sure you all will most likely buy it anyway.

Re: PS3 users
PS3 may never get all of these DLCs, or at least no where near their release for Xbox and PC, but this isn't Bethesda's fault I don't think. Sony is truly at fault for making a console that just isn't well optimized, and is damn near impossible to develop for. Another thing is, you really shouldn't be playing on PS3 at all if you have the option. From the first day it came out it had issues, but I'm assuming that most PS3 players play it on the PS3 because they don't have a gaming PC or and Xbox 360, in which case they're stuck with what they have, and/or they bought the game on release like most of us, because we all love Skyrim, and we still will, I hope, no matter how much DLC isn't released for our platforms of choice.

Point #1: The one common denominator seems to to be the PS3Pavouk106 wrote:To recapitulate - No Morrowind on PS3, no Oblivion trophies on PS3, not all official plugins on PS3, probably no Dawnguard on PS3. Bethesda should tell us why we should continue to buy their stuff...

Point #2: How will Bethesda make any money if they don't offer a product in the first place? If Beth could sell all those wonderful things to you, I bet they would.

For real it is NOT Beths fault would you rather realze a bug DLC that is no where near as good as 360's or PC's version?

Re: PS3 users
I gotta agree I see a lot of hate being directed Bethesda's way when it really isn't there fault. I don't want to play the PS3 sux and Xbox pwnz card, I got over that fanboy crap many years ago, that said I think Sony's design of the PS3 is to blame. If you argue that other games run on the PS3 without problems just remember that these games are probably less than half the content or complexity of Skyrim and that probably makes a huge difference.
Why though do you think they should delay releasing the DLC for other platforms to release them all at the same time? Assuming that there is an even split of customers, then 2/3rds (PC/Xbox) users have to wait for content so problems on the PS3 can be fixed to keep the PS3 users or 1/3rd of customers happy? This is would make no sense and more importantly to a company like Bethesda it makes no profit.
I just think you're judging them too harshly. Just because its not at the same time as other platforms doesn't mean Bethesda don't care about PS3 users (assuming they make 1/3rd of their customer base). Not working on it at all or releasing a bugged version that doesn't work would be a reasonable indication they don't care.Pavouk106 wrote:Skyrim - other players (Xbox/PC) can play Dawnguard for month now.
