They are probably just going to start releasing all the stuff from game jam (except dragon mounts most likely)

Re: Unsatisfied with Hearthfire?
Would it be terribly inappropriate of me to hope that with adoption being added, they'll also add children for the other races so one can have a pet lizard and/or kitten (that is 'hey, they're not pets!')?
It would also be nice if you could take your new kid on field trips... after all, there are a few that might be interested in checking out the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuaries. Or less darkly, might get into trouble taking a vacation at the College of Winterhold. Or if you can adopt before getting married, maybe the kid could be integrated into the ceremony as ringbearer or something. Or you could adopt multiple kids and send them off to various locations (like the Temple of Kynareth so they can train to be an initiate, or Castle Dour to be someone's shieldbearer, or Cidhna Mine or whatever, with the location determining some kind of bonus or occasional item for your character). Or something analogous to The Gift, where you can turn your kid vampire and have a whole happy undead family.
Also like the beekeeping. Not enough beehives in Skyrim.
Falmer hives, yes, beehives, no.
Also also, if you can build some stables that'd be cool.
Someplace to keep that horse when you're not riding it.

Re: Unsatisfied with Hearthfire?
I'm not much into house building, since I only use them for storage, anyway. Also, there's already a mod out that let's your build and design your own home. Interestingly enough in about the same way how it's working in Hearthfire.
And children are the most awful thing about Skyrim, so I surely don't wanna adopt those annoying, useless creatures.
Definitely not gonna buy it.

Couldn't have said it better myself. This is great. Instead of releasing a bunch of different house mini DLC's they are releasing one that lets you build whatever you want. I hope you can buy multiple houses. My presence will be felt everywhere in Skyrim!Hissien wrote:And the part about "and a few smaller dlcs to hold you over untill the larger ones are ready" flew right over people's heads? Im satisfied because it is only five dollars. Also it lets me make a house that i want to make, that way i can make it unique to each of my characters.

Re: Unsatisfied with Hearthfire?
I'm pretty satisfied with it. I hope there is a decent variety of children, though, and from VARYING RACES. All I've seen is Nord/Imperial/Redguard children. How bout some Orc, Bosmer, Altmer children?! Cmon, Bethesda! Better have some variation, here, or I will not be adopting a single snot nosed brat! ...Maybe a girl.
Customization, yesss. I hope you get to actually choose WHERE some things go, that it isn't just like "Okay, I buy this, and it automatically goes HERE."
Looks like we can buy shrines to the Divines? Yusss. I just hope we get to pick and choose, too. And that there can be one for Talos!

The only child design in vanilla is a nord. They just darkened the skin for the family in Markarth (albeit not very dark).Baloth-Kul wrote:I'm pretty satisfied with it. As for the "here it goes". Look at the trailer books. It even shows where it will go.
The only thing I hope, is that it is like fallout and you get to choose the theme of your home. I personally want a dwarven ruin or deadric spire... not some house design taken from whiterun and thrown into the three "homeless" holds.

Re: Unsatisfied with Hearthfire?
From what i've learned from beth's marketing team, you take them at their word.
They've mentioned 3 places that you could place your new home. So those are the 3 spots that you will get from this mod.
It also sounds like you can buy all 3 per character, so hearthfire is essentially all of the oblivion house mods rolled into one.
Like it or not, their sales will reflect that, but that is what you can purchase

Re: Unsatisfied with Hearthfire?
I wonder if we can choose one of our followers to become a housecarl of sorts.
I think Erandur would make a good one.
I like the idea and it's only 5 bucks. Now me and Brelyna can have our own little tyke.
And a personal bard? Yes, please.
I have just about 120000 gold on me right now and I've got nothing to spend it on. Building my own house? Yes, please.
Too bad I'll probably have to wait an extra month or four since I'm on PS3.

"Unsatisfied" is one word for it. I'm really disappointed, Bethesda made a ton of money with Skyrim, and Dawnguard's price is already hard to swallow, but 5 bucks for a house mod? NO. Never. This game is fun and all, but Bethesda won't have my money on this.

As long as I can adopt a Khajiit child, I am willing to pay all the money.

Aaaaaa , dont even mention that ...
Dragon mounts is , in my opinion , the dumbest thing they could possibly do to Skyrim ....

Adopting bratty children aside, I'm looking forward to it. Sometimes I feel like I was one of the only people who enjoyed the housing dlc's in oblivion, and this seems like all those rolled into one.

I'm totally satisfied with this, why wouldn't I be happy that Bethesda is adding more content into Skyrim? Anyone who is [&@%!] off because a company is releasing new content is really ungrateful, you should be happy that they're continuing to support the game and it's fans.

Re: Unsatisfied with Hearthfire?
i agree /\
as far as building my own home in the land is concerned, i think it will be great fun - much better than horse armour lol
as mentioned above oblivion did more or less the same thing (i know there were mini quests but..) only we were charged several times for the honour by releasing the new homes as the mages tower, thieves den, fighter stronghold, etc.. to you could say this dlc cuts to the chase and gives you your den without the faffing..
so yes, i like this and in the context of dlc on the market elsewhere, this is reasonably priced and has solid, useful and fun content
lol todd plays a lot of minecraft , seems like

It actually seems fairly large on content, just not quest content.

What is with all the "this console only" crap?
They have the ability to release it on all systems at once. Others shouldn't have to miss out on content purely because of their personal preference in game console.

I know, isn't it so obvious that the base idea of building houses came from minecraft. By the way, nice day in my box-house community today.legoless wrote:^This.Mattbott wrote:lol todd plays a lot of minecraft , seems like

Re: Unsatisfied with Hearthfire?
You must be really gullible, to be polite. Do you really think Bethesda does this out of "respect" for us? If they really supported gamers, they would cut all this "XBox exclusivity" nonsense (especially since the franchise only exists thanks to PC players) and they wouldn't make us pay for something a single, amateur modder managed to do months before them. They do it for the money, nothing else.Imperfect Three wrote:I'm totally satisfied with this, why wouldn't I be happy that Bethesda is adding more content into Skyrim? It certainly didn't come from a previous TES game.Vendetta wrote:I know, isn't it so obvious that the base idea of building houses came from minecraft. By the way, nice day in my box-house community today.legoless wrote:^This.Mattbott wrote:lol todd plays a lot of minecraft , seems like

Re: Unsatisfied with Hearthfire?
There was mining in Morrowind and Oblivion, too. Skyrim just added a pretty animation to the process. Crafting (except for smithing) isn't new to TES, either. House building? A lot of people already enjoyed the strongholds they built in Morrowind. All these things existed in TES games long before the development of Minecraft even started.legoless wrote:It certainly didn't come from a previous TES game.Vendetta wrote:I know, isn't it so obvious that the base idea of building houses came from minecraft. Anyway, as far as house building goes: Why would a PC user spent $5 on a DLC that is nothing but a variation of the Build Your Own Home mod, which is free and probably offers more variation than Bethesda's DLC will.
Re: Unsatisfied with Hearthfire?
Blimy some of you folk are damn fussy, Bethesda are giving us a role players dream, to buid your own home! Your own design! And for only 400ms points, for us xbox users, Look at what games like Call of Duty charge for a few stupid maps which are just remakes. Personally I am over joyed with Hearthfire, and think it is a bargin at such a low price.
Alos I am sure they will make a SI type DLC soon this is just to give us a bit more fun, its a bit like a mod for the PC this whole house thing.
Rant over.

Re: Unsatisfied with Hearthfire?
yes, i see no reason for a PC player to pay for this dlc if it essentially does what a mod does already, which is probably why they're going to feed it to console users first

Re: Unsatisfied with Hearthfire?
How is it that the idea of building houses originated with Minecraft? Doesn't anyone remember Harvest Moon 64?
"Keep your arrows in their archer" *quiver*
Re: Unsatisfied with Hearthfire?
I think the reason some people are getting in a twist about this is not because they don't like the idea but because they think the amount of money Bethseda will make off this dlc is well out proportion to the amount of work that was put into it. Dawnguard may have been flawed but I wouldn't say there wasn't a fair amount of work that went into it. Though all things considered was it worth a third of the cost of Skyrim?
Spoiler:
