What Scares you?
So another thread I dont want to hijack...
So what scares you?
Exsamples
For me, while I can get scared by "non real things" and do very often, the things that stay with me are the things I KNOW casn happen and are there
Like those shows whgere they go looking for stuff, I'm not scared of the big foot, I'm scared of the posin things around there and the things that I KNOW are there etc
*I like to talk about and debate on what scares someone and why, if you dont like me to do please say so in your post and I shall leave it alone.

The Ocean, and to be more specific the deep blue, you know how it is when your so far out in the ocean, and if you where to get in the water and look around and it would be only blue as far as you can see. Just the infinite abyss, and then knowing there are things out their. Like Sharks, it just terrifies me. That and then theirs going blind or loosing a limb. Burning alive sounds pretty bad too.

The dark, I'm just man enough to deal with it. But, seven year-olds were never meant to hear Max Payne. I've been afraid of the unknown, really, ever since. Though it has gone away considerably in the past decade.

I telling you, it's not the darkness, it's what's lurking inside it. Some I'm fine in my own home, but random noises in the streets can mean coyotes now. And they are fierce. But I'm too old for these kind of fears now, so I'm mastering it.

Hey, I said I was braver, not stupid. I enjoy all of my skin and appendages. Why kick them, when I can punch them instead.

it's much easier to kick them under the jaw, you endanger less body partsBr3admax wrote:Hey, I said I was braver, not stupid. I enjoy all of my skin and appendages. Why kick them, when I can punch them instead.

Seizures, Blood (to an extent), memory loss, tsunamis, tornados, lightning, Ghosts, demons, darkness, zombies and avalanches to name a few.
Some of these i fear from my own experiences, others i fear because of their raw power and one i dont actually know why i fear it.

Clowns, for real its one of the few "irational" fears I have
But twisted metal as a kid did not help

I'm an amphibiphobe. Frogs freak me the hell out. Seriously, I'm like, deathly afraid and want nothing to do with them.
I also have a fear of the thought of eternity. I have really rough existential crises because I'm afraid of the concept of 'forever'.

Robots scare the rams out of me... In the future (hopefully not), we're going to invite robots into our homes and when you're least expecting it, they tear off your skin and wear it as if they were acting like you...

Re: What Scares you?
This isn't a FEAR, per se, but mannequins...Unnerve me. There's something about them. Their presence. I can feel their presence has the general shape, air and sound wave distortion as the average human would, but it is not all the same as the presence of another human. It's just a bit freaky.
Actual FEARS? Hmmm...Some bugs (but I think all bugs are REALLY cool), ...I am totally fine with animals, but bears...Intimidate me. I have many dreams of being mauled by, or fleeing from bears. Death by having a major vein/artery punctured or slashed. Veins gross me the out a lot, and I get antsy as hell when I imagine my wrist being cut. I'm a BIT wary of drowning. I had a bad experience at a beach when I was younger. I'd generally say I'm pretty brave with most situations. Fight before flight. Oh, seizures, strokes, heart attacks. They sound especially scary to me because of the suddenness. I don't like to be surprised, especially with pains (and potentially life threatening conditions, of course). My dad's side of the family has a track record of like 95% of male deaths being caused by heart attack/failure. As of right now, at least, my heart is in incredibly good condition, despite the fact that I'm a total couch potato. That's all I can think of, really. TL;DR...
-Some bugs
-Bears kinda
-Veins/heavy bleeding
-Drowning (a little)
-Heart attack/stroke/seizure
Oh, and if you've seen videos of that weird robot mouth, or robots talking...It's creepy.

Re: What Scares you?
^ About the mannequins it is called the "uncanny" it is when an object or being looks almost identical to a human but it is missing that last little bit and it unnerves us.
Lol i meant the emotion. Not just the appearance. On that note the veins fear is one we have in common.

Re: What Scares you?
Nope. If one were to say that it's uncanny, or more specifically, THEY HAVE AN UNCANNY RESEMBLANCE TO HUMANS, then...Such would be the case. But unnerving is just as appropriate, as it's not the look, the appearance, the physical resemblance that unnerves me. PRESENCE. The PRESENCE. I can feel them nearby, feel that they have the general shape of a person, but that it is not a person. It's uncanny, it's unnerving--not an uncanny appearance, but it's just...Strange.
Sorry.
heh.

You know, when I really think about it, the very process of being alive frightens me sometimes. knowing I'm stuck, trapped and eventually will meet my inevitable doom, and nothing I can do can slow down time.

Oh my god, that one horror movie where some girl gets her achilles cut with a pair of pliers. ...House of Wax or something like that, I think. Ugh. Makes my ankle hurt.
Yeah, my body disgusts and horrifies me sometimes, too. Feeling all the bodily processes, how rotten and gross and painful it all is. ...That's why I prefer to think a lot more down-to-earth

I'll keep it short and say I'm afraid of A LOT of things with a low chance of happening, but I constantly think they will happen
Oh, and frogs. And my future. And the fact that I constantly feel the presence of someone when I'm alone.
