I think that having massive battle scenes would be awesome. Going one against many (perhaps hundreds). It would, of course, be for when your character is rather developed and strong.

Also, I would love to see the variety of weapons and armor like there were in Morrowind. I loved the chitin and bonemold armor and weapons. I do miss the spears. It seems like it guards should have spears and halberds.

Also, it would be nice to have massive bosses that you have to take down a certain way. Aim for weak points in the armor with arrows or a well placed blade. In Morrowind and Oblivion you just had to whack at them long enough and they would die. While that may sometimes offer a challenge I would like to think on how to take down a boss.

I personally would like it to be set in the Summerset Isles, but since Elsweyr is a desert that would be awesome. But they need to make the map feel as large as Morrowind.

Also, it would be nice to have the hero do something without the support of the population. In Morrowind you had the support of the Ashlanders and Vivec. Oblivion you had the support of the Empire and everyone who didn't want to be eaten by daedra. It would be neat for the hero of whatever to be fighting everyone and just have the support of the Elder Scrolls or the Daedra Princes and actually make an outcome be for the good of everyone.

This is somethign I really hate. I really dislike games with bosses that you have to target weakpoints to hit them.

"Erm... I just used the strongest spell in the game on you and you did't eve feel it."
"Oh... You have to target my weakpoit. It's placed right at my back. The problem is, I always sink into the ground whenever you go behind me."

we had Mehrunes Dagon in Oblivion, you could kill him with wabbajack but tbh TES isn't about scampering up god's legs and punching them in the crotch until they sink back to hell roaring

i think the biggest improvement to immersion would be to make the stories unfold in a way that didn't always feel like you're on a scripted plot path and doing things in the wrong order or accidentally mixing the wrong quests together means the game broke. (lol i am sure this is probably what they are constantly trying to improve with each game but..)

I dont think there should be any npcs who are unkillable (we dont need kids in TES imo, skyrim is kind of proving that to me), I am sure a game could be written where the main plot had alternative npcs who could get you through the story so if you kill one then you seek out another (or better still, what about a main plot where all npcs can do is make things easier for you - none of them are actually vital to events and the story proceeding so the story never breaks if you kill someone)

when npcs die, replace them a couple of weeks later.. eg Belethors brother comes up from Valenwood after you killed him. This time he's looking to avenge his brother.. or maybe he thanks you for killing his hated brother and allowing him to inherit the store.. If you wipe out a city, an army arrives to investigate, and the place is a military garrison until peace is restored. And why not have the garrison commanded by a captain who's so rock hard, your maxed out character is probably going to get pwned and arrested..

In other words make npc movements/reactions to the hero more dynamic

i suppose making the consequences of some actions more profound in the game world, is what i'm looking for.. i think most people tend to want to mess with the game cos it doesnt allow it

More alternatives to fast travel, it is something i rarely do but when i start it is much harder to stop. This would not be the case if i could cast "teleport" and go anywhere i pleased. Other games do it i dont see why bethesda cant jump on that bandwagon. Plus im tired of waiting outside of stores to sell my loot.

More summons not based purely in the realms of oblivion. Maybe a summon spriggan or even a summon bear spell. I have always wanted to make a druid and this is a good start.

Shapeshifting SPELLS. Not lycanthropy. Not vampirism. I want to turn into a slaughterfish or possibly a saber cat when the mood strikes me not a floating undead vampire just short of being a lich or a feral beast that only wants to fill its stomach.

Flying mounts. NOT dragons. Possibly a griffin or two or maybe even a... cliffracer *chuckles*....

Lichcraft maybe? Not likely but maybe an endgame treat for those of us who wield the darkest magic?

Bring back birthsigns. Bring back classes, we miss them. As you can see from the roleplay or "skyrim character thread" we still enjoy having a character with an identity.

Bring back proper roleplay and lore elements. Bethesda you may be surprised by the large number of us who actually read the in game books and like to be more immersed in our character.

And more race specific dialog, this is least common in skyrim as opposed to morrowind or oblivion. Contrary to in game evidence a wandering war party of nords is not going ask an altmer for help in retaking their keep. Make me earn their trust or even make them attack on sight. The town of dunmer is most likely not going to welcome me with open arms if i am not one of them and even then it is unlikely.

That is all...... FOR NOW muwahahahaha!

BUT will there actually BE a TES VI? Again, I thought they are just going multiplayer, that means they will not make anymore single player, no?

I'm sure there will, the MMO is independent to the SP

I would like them to tweak alchemy. The labs is a great idea and is good for serious alchemy work, but imo you should be able to get a mortar and pestle for 'in the field' mixing. Especially since in game ingredients found close to each other tend to share effects, which you would think indicates an intention for you to do alchemy on site and which would make sense. The idea of taking an alembic etc around with you on adventure is silly, but a mortar is plausible imo

'true' clairvoyance spells, ie when cast you are able to see a different location. This could be via the crystal ball type set up or even a familiar through whose eyes you would look. A chrystal ball might act as a cctv camera with a fixed set of locations, or a mage-assassin for example could have a wasp familiar and be able to stalk their prey by flying around near the victim, avoiding cobwebs and cats etc. A mage with counter clairvoyance magic in place might also be able to see when someone was spying on them, and put anti spy spells up round certain locations and even 'follow' the invasive spell back to the source. Thieves guilds would have a clairvoyance specialist on staff, as would princes/queens/generals etc.

It would open up a whole area of intelligence gathering in the game and de emphasise combat based gamplay (which i think itself would be a big thing for computer RP games). The combat/stealth/magic structure is great, but there are very few stealth/magic things that arent directly tied in with combat tho

I'd like an expanded magic system. It's been getting more and more simplified from one game to another and I don't like that. What I'm thinking is this - there's a chance we'll see parts of Tamriel we know very little about. There are major differences between various races and cultures of Tamriel, so it makes sense that there would be more than one way of using magic. Something like ritual magic (that requires extra ingredients to cast spells) or runic magic (a different way of using enchantment) would be really nice to see.

And the more room for custom spells and enchantments, the happier I'm going to be. Several lore books on magic make it clear that the spellcasters of Tamriel don't begin their work with pre-formed formulae, they begin with defining the effect they're going for and finding a way to achieve it. So the (unreachable?) ideal is that you can do whatever you want, as long as you figure out how to combine your skills in different schools of magic. You could combine Destruction with Conjuration to create a little flying bug and give it the ability to poison your enemies, for example. I know there are limits to this, because the creators of the game can't predict and include everything the players might want, but I don't see how taking away any possibility of "open magic system" could be considered the right way of dealing with the problems this concept presents.

yes! custom spells would be great

the conjuration/ destruction idea is great.. (lol you could also make a summoned [&@%!] of healing, it sits on your knee and purs you back to health)

and also why not magical ingredients usable in enchantments - for example you get some ice wraith teeth and fine they are good for keeping your beer cold or grinding down for a potion, but if you set them into a mace or carve shards into an arrowhead, you could do frost damage.. combine that with some enchanting magic and you might multiply the effects (so frost damage becomes frozen to the spot like in ice form) or increase them.

Really you wouldnt even be adding new game mechanics, you would just be allowing the existing effects to be combined or adding applications for existing items

^ By D&D rules most magic requires reagents anyway........ The only one that comes to mind is that diamond dust made a force field.

I was thinking about something like Frazer's "contagious" and "homeopatic" magic - the first follows the law of contact (things once linked remain linked and one can be altered by altering the other), the second is based on similarities (like affects like).

It would be really cool if there was a different school of magic that worked like this and you'd have to do something like hunt down some family heirlooms to cast a powerful curse on someone. Or search for the right set of reagents with properties similar to what you're trying to achieve. Of course that doesn't work for the quick and dirty kind of magic so it wouldn't help with combat, but I think it would make being a spellcaster in Tamriel much more interesting and would open the way for many original and interesting questlines.

Huh. I bet my anthropology professor never imagined that's what I'd be using her lectures for... :D

For TES:VI I really like Bretons, so why not have the next game set in the ancient High Rock? It is a land ruled by fiefdoms and small, middle ages-y kingdoms and half-man/half-elf people. The Orc homeland, Orsinium also exists in the High Rock Interior.

The Aldmer used to live there, and the oldest structure on Tamriel is the Adamantine Tower. If I recall, wasn't it built by the gods, or maybe the aedra, to imprison Lorkhan? That would be a cool plot device, right? The trickster Lorkhan, prominent in, like, every religion, returning to do whatever.

It could be set a little after TES V and involve a possible invasion by the Aldmeri Dominion. It would be somewhat plausible. The Concordat could be breached/violated, and seeing as High Rock remains true to the Empire, the high elves might want to invade it.

Yeah. I only played a small bit of it, but I think a lot more focus could be put into VI maybe. Was Adamantine Tower or the Orc Nation explored in Daggerfall?

I'd like to see at least one quest about a major battle between the empire and thalmor. Also after you pick a side and start gaining rank you should be able to use it to command other NPCs.

I would like it to keep with the theme of moving provinces, as we can have potentially unlimited Elder Scrolls games, instead of bundling all into one game and ruining the chance of another game,. Yes it would be nice to be able to from Cyrodill to Valenwood and then to High Rock, but it would get boring as it would be with limited unique story lines and then all the repetitive side quests Skyrim has.

Also Bethesda just wouldn't do it because releasing one game with most of the content they have created in would create a lot of income at first but then once it's died down and it's gone where do they go from there.

Listen, you are confused. Zenimax own Bethesda, but Zenimax has another branch of different developers called Zenimax online, who is developing Online, while Bethesda Game Studios, and branch of Bethesda and Zenimax, also a completely different group of developers, are developing the Single Player, Elder Scrolls games. Do you get it?

I did not know anything about Zenimax, never heard of them. So Zenimax is the one doing Elder Scrolls Online?
