Least Favoured Guild
Its got to be the Thieves Guild for me , I like the early game-play but the fancy suits and practices conflict to much with previous Thieves Guild , I preferred the thugs and gangsters of the Oblivion Thieves Guild

Re: Least Favoured Guild
I disliked the majority of the new factions, but the Thieves Guild was the worst. The questline was too much of a mess to take the faction seriously.

Agreed about the Thieves Guild , it changed from a crime syndicate focused solely on money and power to some kind of religious orderlegoless wrote:I disliked the majority of the new factions, but the Thieves Guild was the worst. The questline was too much of a mess to take the faction seriously.

It's just business, they clearly tell you in game that it is not religious, your soul is for barter(even though you cheated Nocturnal.) And I hate the Companions so much wasted potential.HorkerPatrol wrote:Agreed about the Thieves Guild , it changed from a crime syndicate focused solely on money and power to some kind of religious orderlegoless wrote:I disliked the majority of the new factions, but the Thieves Guild was the worst. Re: Least Favoured Guild
Bard's College is stupid, lol... I wouldn't even call it a guild. As for the Thieves guild I actually like it a lot more. It's way better than the Robin Hood's of Morrowind, and I've completely forgotten the Oblivion Thieves.
It's stupid you have to give up the Skeleton key for some powers though. :/

Re: Least Favoured Guild
I voted for the Legion but Stormcloaks are nearly the exact same so I am talkig about both of them. I feel like they could have added so many different quests into the civil war factions. Something other than taking over forts. What about a full scale invasion into Dawnstar. Or recruiting more soldiers for your dwindling army. Or assisting some outnumbered troops in a battle for supplies. The Jagged Crown is a good example, recovering a rare artifact to increase the publics opinion of you. But I think they needed more.

Stormcloaks. Darn racists. Rawr.
But seriously, becoming a bard who DOESN'T PLAY AN INSTRUMENT? Bethesda better be adding in usable drums, flutes, and lutes, or by Akatosh...

I adored the Thieves Guild.
Dislike the Legion because I'm just too Stormcloak-inclined.

Re: Least Favoured Guild
Well, I voted for Bards College, but they aren't even a guild IMO.
Probly have to say my least favourite is the Companions. It's just to easy to move up the ranks.
3 quests and I'm a werewolf, and one of the most trusted members? WTF

I voted for the companions, since there doesn't seem to be much to them. You show up, then do what you do normally as an adventurer and eventually get the option to become a werewolf. At least the thieves guild does more than punch people out in the streets.
Then I remembered there was the bard's college... So companions are my second least favorite.

No you don't, just go to the Waterfront. And I was joking because it doesn't even matter. They get right back into their problems in only two hundred years.Yaije wrote:you had to get thrown in jail to officially invited to join.Br3admax wrote:There was a Thieves Guild in Oblivion?

Armond Christophe never let me in until A certain letter made it into my possesion, which never happened until getting out of jail. Even If meeting them at midnight in the meeting location with everyone present.

Re: Least Favoured Guild
I only voted for the Bard's College because it's so terrible, but my least favorite "actual guild" is the College of Winterhold. Why do both the colleges suck? The quest-line is just so damn short; you join up, spend three seconds getting a staff and then bam! Done.. By far the most anti-climactic quest-line ever. I'm surprised nobody voted for it after all the hate for it right after release.
Re: Least Favoured Guild
Difficult choice as in my opinion there are only 2 guilds in Skyrim (College of Winterhold & Dark Brotherhood) the rest are either non starters like the blades and bards or cluster [&@%!] like the thieves & companions. Bethesda dropped the ball as all the guilds are far to easy to progress without the player having to use any appropriate skills to complete them.
I voted for companions as I dislike the werewolves aspect.

Completely agree! But then again, most of the guilds were too short. College of Winterhold felt the shortest though.Imperfect Three wrote:I only voted for the Bard's College because it's so terrible, but my least favorite "actual guild" is the College of Winterhold. Re: Least Favoured Guild
Although I don't have a least favourite, per se, The Companions were a bit of a let down for me for two reasons. Firstly, they weren't really a Guild of Fighters (warriors), they were really just a glorified Werewolf questline masquerading as a Fighters' Guild replacement/substitute, and that frustrated me as a player because I didn't want to go Lycanthrope from an RP perspective, thus I had to stop completing Companions' story quests, limiting how far I could go in the questline. Secondly, the actual storyline of the guild seemed to me to be the shortest of the lot, although perhaps this was due to a lack of interesting sidequests. The DB was prolonged by the assassinations quests, which didn't feel as much as a chore as the Companions various template Radiant Story quests; the College had various interesting sidequests such as the many related to the different collegians; the Thieves Guild had the job quests which, while similar to the Companions' quests in that they followed a template, also did not seem as monotonous to me as a player, and were diverse in that there were so many options which actually felt different (rather than, go here and kill that - I mean you had pickpocketing, theft, forgery, the whole kit and caboodle). That, and you became a member of The Circle after what, one or two quests (if memory serves), and after that point the story was not exactly exhaustive (6 story/primary quests in all, compared to 9, 14 and 12 for the College, Brotherhood and Guild respectively).

Re: Least Favoured Guild
My least favourite is the Thieves guild for it's poor storyline and it's side quests which were repetitive garbage that became even more annoying with the fact that I never fast travel or use carriages. constantly travelling from Riften to Markarth on foot only during the day made me almost give up on my thief RP. Another thing that annoyed me was the fact that you could run through the quests 2H barbarian style, with no consequences if you wanted to.

I have to say the thieves guild. I've been playing Skyrim since the day it came out and I still haven't been able to finish the thieves questline. It's just... boring.
Very much unlinke the oblivion Thieves guild, which was the best guild in the game ...

Re: Least Favoured Guild
fighters guild is too short, i don't even bother stopping in to jorvaskr anymore, if I want a warrior guild i'll play oblivion, the thieves guild was a buggy mess and i hated that too. I barely met Karliah before I was speaking to nocturnal, not mention the skeleton is better than some crappy powers i'm never going to use

Did you miss the part were they even say "its not about religion its about business" they don't worship Nocturnal, and she doesn't want to be worshiped, she just gives them powers.
But as to the OP's question... the Bards College I guess.

Re: Least Favoured Guild
Hate the blades because they are lame... end of story.
In Morrowind and previous games the blades had major roles for the Player Character,
Oblivion they were a homebase in a time of strife, but you got to see the characters develop the entirety of the Main Quest.
Skyrim, meh. A nutcase and a paranoid ol' lady. Both are trying to manipulate you into doing what THEY think is right. The blades SERVE the dragonborn, not the other way around. I respect council, but to tell me that they wont help me unless I do something for them goes against the purpose of their order. Yes, they were dragon hunters originally, but for over a 1000 years they were the guard and agents for the Emperor. That is what should be upheld.
As for the rest. BEAUTIFULLY written.
The only thing I "didnt like" is the separation between side quests and the main quest.
They had exactly what morrowind had, they just made each guild function like two.
If you recall, morrowind had you do little boring quest jobs. Then you had the cool story growing quests when you reached the proper skill to accomplish the task. In Skyrim, it is the same, except now there are no longer any skill requirements, so they made the main quest more excess-able.
The thieves guild was in the beginning of Morrowind, thugs and thieves, but as you progressed they were businessmen until the "end" when you met the master thief gentleman Jim Stacy who tries to recruit you on his little religious robinhood style Bal Monger [or something similar] quests.
