Re: Pokemon!
Yeah, I'm saving my PP Up's for moves like that.
I think I've used one on Charizard's Flamethrower, and that's it so far. I've got about 3 or 4 of them sitting in the PC.
You don't happen to recall what lvl Lapras learns Ice Beam do you?

Re: Pokemon!
No problem, try this site: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Lapras
Use that site to find out pretty much anything to do with individual Pokemon, like their weaknesses, their moves, their locations, their evolution levels etc. it's bloody useful, found it the other day.
Just make sure that when you go down to their level moves you change it to Generation3, as it normally shows Gen4.

Isn't there a steal tm? Can't you make a random Pokemon learn it and keep using it on wild horsea?

I could, but it doesn't really cost me much to catch them. I've kinda given up with that anyway, just going to keep my Gyarados.

Well, my Pokemon Sapphire's Internal Battery has run dry. And it ISN'T just Berry Glitch. I tried the FireRed Berry Program Updater. It failed.
Fortunately, it WASN'T my Gold copy.

Re: Pokemon!
So, while I'm slowly training my team to a respectable level for the Elite 4 challenge I decided to start up a game of Emerald. So far so good, got an Aron, Electrike, Swellow and Kirlia in my team at the moment. I started off with Treeko but meh... not the biggest fan of grass pokemon so he's been benched.
I just want to grab an Absol, but it will be awhile till then unfortunately. The one problem with this generation is the lack of cool fire pokemon in the wild... I think the decent looking ones are in the Safari zone but I can't remember.

Re: Pokemon!
What about Torkoal? overheat is pretty useful with him.
And I think you could catch a slugma in the fire path.

Re: Pokemon!
Slugma looks ridiculous, and Torkoal is a bit... off. I may go for the latter but I don't know at the moment, thankfully fire isn't all that important.

Re: Pokemon!
I didn't realise that it could be found in Emerald, then again I haven't played in years... I may look it into it though, Ninetales is probably my favourite fire type. Thanks for the heads up.
I still think Ninetales should be part Psychic, it has the characteristics of one. I remember it being a bit like a Psychic type in the t.v series back in the day.
Anyway, my decision now is between Altaria or Salamence for my Dragon/flying position, I'm at the place where you can catch both in the game(or should I say their first evolutions Swablu, and Bagon). I was thinking Altaria because it can learn Ice Beam(one of the best moves IMO), doesn't look like it needs to go on a Diet, and evolves sooner. Then again, it does look a bit... feminine, but I'm sure I can get over that.
I'm trying to make a team of effective, but good looking pokemon. I guess Altaria is most likely going to be the one I raise in the end.
I'm thinking about the following setup by end game(although I should have all before that anyway):
Absol(Dark)
Gardevoir(Psychic)
Milotic(Water)
Altaria(Dragon/Flying)
Manectric(lightning)
Aggron(Steel/Rock)
So yeah... perhaps I won't need a fire Pokemon after all.

Re: Pokemon!
They are okay... nothing special in my opinion. I have a Haunter in my Leafgreen game, and it just keeps dying all the time.
Besides Absol is boss, and I don't want two Pokemon with Dark type characteristics in my main party.

Re: Pokemon!
Yeah, good point.
Still, get that Treeko leveled up and use it. Trust me, it will be useful.
Also, work on leveling the Treeko, the Flying Type, and the Electric type. They will be useful later on.

Re: Pokemon!
Noooo noooo starters. As powerful as they are, I hate using them because they take up room for new combinations.
I will be leveling up my Manectric of course though, there aren't really that many 'new' lightning pokemon in Emerald.

Re: Pokemon!
Ninetails is more ghost than psychic. Can't it like bestow curses and it's based off a Japanese demon?

Anyone here who can trade(and trade back) a Shelmet for my Karrablast?

I would disagree.
None are better than any others.

Emerald is amazing!
The only Pokémon Game, other than Colosseum and one for the N64, I had.
