but I don't have any strange weapons, because I don't open crates.

Do I dare break that condition.. Sure.

And am I weird for liking the Atomizer?

A lot of people adore the Atomizer. I say these people are silly, but to each their own.

I'll take unopened crates for the Quick-Fix.

I like hats, I just don't like basing my entire game and bank account around getting them. Scrapping my terrible weapons to make three refined metal isn't really going out of my way to get them.

Which is false, but whatever. >_>

I have no idea how weapon unlocks and trading works, as well as hats, but it seems pretty cool. Haven't played too much TF2, so could someone give me a brief explanation of how that stuff works?

Basically you'll unlock certain specific weapons by earning a number of achievements for each class, and can find random weapons in 'drops' which appear around every hour of game time. This stuff can be traded with other people for other things.

Re hats: You will almost definitely come across the Ghastly Gibus first. Do not wear it. Eventually you'll either get very lucky and find a hat in a drop, craft one by sacrificing a lot of your dropped weapons or by being a shmuck and paying a load of money for them in the online store.

If anyone manages to get their hands on a Strange Market Gardener and doubts they'll ever use it I now have a Strange Equalizer I'll be willing to trade.

You can run TF2 with launch options to have it run with no gui and to join a random server. You just let it sit in its command line window for a few hours and next time you launch TF2 - tada!

Or, ya know ... just play the game. If you want to cheat, there are (or were) achievement servers that give you ~300 achievements and you get the associated item drops

That is the point of the loadout. It's SUPPOSED to blow so that I can [&@%!] off the morons who act like you are dirt if you happen to be using one of these items by dominating them using this loadout.

The Shotgun's hardly a noob weapon. Pyros with that kind of setup are exactly why the class has such a bad image among other players.

It's always kind of strange for me the times I played TF2 on PC. I mean, how do they keep the weapons balanced as much so as the vanilla, which was perfect? Like you guys have mentioned, there are some terrible guns, but what keeps people from getting better guns from being more lucky?

Mhm. Heh, I was playing on the Xbox the other day, and it was Engineers vs Engineers. Good times. It ended in a huge stalemate though...
