Can anyone help me find mods like this?

Post by SuperShmowzow »

Can anyone help me search for any of these Morrowind mods?
Ok, so I have recently (finally) installed Morrowind for PC with both Tribunal and Bloodmoon. I really love the game, but there's always been things missing. It's a good thing there are mods!

The thing is, I can't find the ones I want. I'll list the ones I am searching for (not the mods specifically, but what I want the mods to do)

- LESS GENERIC DIALOGUE
A mod or mod(s) that will make all of the dialogue much less generic. Not just random things, I want the thing being said by the certain NPC to reflect off there disposition towards me. ( I have the Less Generic NPC's mod, but all it does is give some NPC's in certain places unique background stories, and don't get me wrong, I think it's amazing, but still, it doesn't help the fact that whenever I ask for a ' little advice ' it's most likely going to be the same thing with every NPC)

- HOUSES
A mod that has a house in almost every (or every) city/town that HAS to be bought in order to live in. And I certainly wouldn't mind if there was also a shack or two that was in some random secluded part of Vvardenfell that could also be bought by someone. I'm just sick of finding house mods and not being told that you have to buy them, which means that you must just get it for free. I don't want to except things like that for no reason, it makes me feel like I'm cheating, and I feel like I did no work, and frankly, I feel like not playing the game that much. Oh and maybe you have to work for the house, maybe do a quest or something, kinda like the strongholds of the 3 main houses (which, imo, take a bit tooo long haha)

- HAVE TO BUY MAP
I know this probably isn't possible, but a mod where you have to buy, steal, or trade to get your map would be pretty cool. It'd be very realistic and would allow me to immerse much more.

- MORE FACES/HAIR STYLES (NOT ANIME!!!)
I have seen plenty of those anime faces and hairs that have been added in some mods, and I am definitely not the type of person to be interested in that. It's not just that I'm not a fan of anime, it's also the fact that it makes downright no sense. Anime in a western rpg? I know there are some people that like it, but please, whatever you recommend in this category, I beg you don't send me anime face/hair mod links.

- MORE IMMERSIVE GAMEPLAY
It would take me a while to think of all the things that make Morrowind slightly less immersive, so I am just going to add this. Anything that would make it a bit more realistic, just one of those small things that really make a difference. Things that not only make the game more realistic, but also more fun. So if it makes it more realistic, but a bit less fun, I don't think I'd be that interested, because I want it to be more fun!

Thanks a million, everyone. Tried this question on yahoo answers, what was I thinking? :D

Let's start from the beginning here.

LESS GENERIC DIALOGUE:
Check out the LGNPC mod. I quote from their website:

"Less Generic NPCs, is a project that aims to replace all the repetitive Morrowind dialogue with more interesting and engaging conversations. We want each NPC in every town, village, or camp to have his or her own personality and back story."

You can download the entire pack, or the individual mods based on geographic regions. As far as I know, LGNPC is considered the best dialogue altering mod out there.

- HOUSES
I've never heard of a project this ambitious. The best advice I could give is for you to select individual house mods that you feel are the least exploity. Personally, I don't use any house mods, as I have yet to find any that I find to be fair, balanced, and in keeping with the flavor of the game. And I don't mind sticking with the Great House strongholds.

- HAVE TO BUY MAP
I don't think there's anything like this out there, but I could be wrong.

- MORE FACES/HAIR STYLES (NOT ANIME!!!)
I'm 100% with you on this one. The last thing I want to see in Morrowind is anime schoolgirls. Ugh. See below.

- MORE IMMERSIVE GAMEPLAY
MORROWIND SOUND AND GRAPHICS OVERHAUL. Absolutely the MOST CRUCIAL mod for you to get. It's a mod compilation that revamps so much of the game that I won't even bother to get into the details here, but you can download the mod list individually from the above link if you want. You can also look it up on youtube to see some breathtaking examples of what it looks like.

Hope that helps. :)

I forgot to mention a couple things.

You will definitely want the Morrowind Code Patch. It includes innumerable bugfixes that weren't addressed in the official Bethesda patch. And it allows you to manually select each fix you want to install so you can tailor the game to your liking. Also, I'm pretty sure it's required for the Morrowind Overhaul.

Also, if you're going to install the Morrowind Overhaul, make sure you read the installation guide first. You may need to update your .NET framework or your DirectX drivers, but it's well worth the extra step.

Finally, you asked about mods that foster more immersive gameplay. Truthfully there's a lot of them out there. Living Cities of Vvardenfell, Morrowind Comes Alive, Animated Morrowind, Necessities of Morrowind, Morrowind Crafting, Children of Morrowind, Ecology of Morrowind, the list goes on...these are just a few that come to mind atm. Note that all of these mods may not be compatible with each other - always be sure to check your load order and mod compatibility with Mlox (an essential tool that you should download if you haven't already).

I'm not going to post links for all of the mods named above, but I'm sure you can find them all on Planet Elder Scrolls. Good luck and happy modding! :)

Thanks Scozzar, I forgot to mention Wrye Mash. It's essential, especially if you're going to be playing a heavily modded game.

I also forgot that Mlox comes with MGSO. Guess I wasn't as on-the-ball as I thought. :?
