Most Difficult Fight in Skyrim
What was the most difficult fight in Skyrim, for you? It can be anything from a boss fight to a mob of powerful enemies swarming you with no concievable way to escape.
On my newest character, the most difficult fight so far was during the Black Star quest, which i started a little too early. The three dremora inside swarmed me with fireballs, had a ton of health, and i died several times.
In the end, i won by going beast form and slaughtering them all like cattle, rather than trying to compete with them magically.

The hardest fight for me was when thugs came and then I was near bandit camp so the bandits attacked me then I died.

Re: Most Difficult Fight in Skyrim
So far, I had a really difficult time with the final battle. Not going against Alduin himself, mind you, but going against the armies of draugr death lords and wights before that. I thought I would never get through them all, especially because I had no healing potions.

Re: Most Difficult Fight in Skyrim
I have to say it was the same fight as you. I don't know if it's from a mod I've installed or from the updates, but spells like Fireball and Ice spike throw me into the air... It takes like 5 seconds to get back up.Winterborn wrote:What was the most difficult fight in Skyrim, for you? I couldn't even kill one of the dremoras without being pushed. So many fireballs going against me :p
I had to summon a fire atronach to capture their attention and sprint past them... Since the atronach is immune to fire, but not the stagger it couldn't fight back, but it wouldn't die either. I had like 40 seconds to kill Malyn... ahah that was a fun quest indeed.

Yes, very challenging, and yet so rewarding. It being so hard is what made it fun. Having to plan my attack rather than running in swinging my sword and screaming was a nice change. I felt like such a champ when i stood over their mangled bodies and ripped out thier hearts.strobacaxi wrote:I have to say it was the same fight as you. Re: Most Difficult Fight in Skyrim
It's a tie between the hordes of Draugr Deathlord Archers (using Ebony) on the way to Alduin's portal to Sovngarde and the battle(s) with Sigdis Gauldurson.
Those blasted Deathlords kept flinging me backwards and, since there was around five of them, they had me pinned to the ground. Certainly made me wish I had Spellbreaker with me.
I remember the battle with Sigdis Gauldurson went much the same way and I had to keep trying again until I managed to get a sneak attack for 30x damage on him.

Anything you do at too early of a level. the dremora in the Black Star was one of those for me. climbing the 7000 steps and fighting the frost troll was also bad

Hired thugs in Riverwood at level one, right after I had sold my weapons and armor for the gold to make a new set...
One iron sword yanked off a thug I punched to death and two awkward kills trying to avoid hitting chickens later...I got a "No lollygaggin'" for my work

Re: Most Difficult Fight in Skyrim
krosis at level 1 on a pure mage, although teleporting gauldurson is a close second especially for a pure melee.
Re: Most Difficult Fight in Skyrim
Anciet Dragon at level 56 whilst playing as a Vampire Lord, just melted my character in one breath, which is how a dragon attack should be, luckily I had just exited a building at COW and was able to reload, took me 4 attempts to kill it eventually swapped to bow and stuck it full of arrows whilst sneak round Winterhold sticking to cover.

Re: Most Difficult Fight in Skyrim
Normally I'd agree, but there wasn't anything especially difficult about the Draugr caves since I was so experienced at dealing with them by that point. No the hardest fight for me was the battle with Tsun to get into the Hall of Valor. That beast moves fast and he hits like a car crash, and for a squishy wizard and an expert archer, he was a bit too much of a challenge.Mod-Loving Wood Elf wrote:So far, I had a really difficult time with the final battle.

I was playing as an Assassin, and I did the quest to restore the tree in Whiterun WAY too early. I probably died 23 times in retrieving the dagger.

The dragons on Dawnguard, as a melee character they really screwed me over....

Re: Most Difficult Fight in Skyrim
I've had two . . . at a low level, my thief exited the Honningbrew Meadery after taking care of some guild business, and was attacked by three thugs. That was so difficult for some reason. And the other was with a magic-using character versus the Hagraven at Hag's End. . . took me about an hour. She kept healing, and I used my magic up for healing, so I had to attack her with an iron dagger. Not fun.

I remember fighting him in a low level too... It's funny how fast you run down a hill when you're this close to being killed ahahaggie wrote:krosis at level 1 on a pure mage, although teleporting gauldurson is a close second especially for a pure melee.
It was with great satisfaction that I returned 30 levels after and had my revenge muahahah
Re: Most Difficult Fight in Skyrim
i finished him at 1, was a lot of run, let health/mana replinish make another guerilla attack and dash.
i think last nights was harder. pure melee orc, had never learned a new spell or used any. hadn't learned a single shout either, but my axe was doing its job. just after i got dressed for a party down comes mr. blood dragon. luckily a few guards dropped quick, and they didnt need their swords anymore, but it was a tense time.

Re: Most Difficult Fight in Skyrim
My absolute least favorite fights are against vampires in any close quartered area. That being said, I play on master (& w/o hud) and typically plan ahead with a lot of potions and a handful of damage and health boosters. Well, I went into the particular fort with a mage follower, and a bunch of scrolls complete with restoration, destruction and a few storm atronach scrolls.
The entry way was guarded by a handful of reject vampires and thralls that I easily dispatched with stealth and patience. I reach the boss chamber. 5 vampires. 4 Fire jet traps. And a handful of corpses. Still sneaking I toss a few fireball volleys with scrolls right at the head vamp. Each hit their dunmer mark. My companion charges in. I summon a storm atronach (scroll) and a bound bow after making a ring of protection with a scroll. The blood-suckers charge in, the boss summons a frost cloak and starts unleashing lightning bolts. The 4 minor vamps quickly dispose of my follower and resurrect her to fight against me and combined they banish my next 2 storm atronachs. And my protections and potions are nearly depleted. The master vampire charged through the flame traps seemingly unscathed. Having to depend on spellbreaker to ward off the drain life effects I get a lucky shot with dawnbreaker turning the fiends away. Deciding to press the attack I kill the remaining minions. The boss nearly defeated, I continue the attack after the turn effect wears off. He immediately equips a cloak and tosses a single bolt... the only way my death could have been better was what happened after I respawned and eventually did kill them all... completely out of potions, and things to help... I go outside and enounter a dragon that snaps at me right at the turn of the level (when you just get the next hardest dragons). Unfortunately I had to turn the difficulty down to kill the beast. :/

Re: Most Difficult Fight in Skyrim
Definitely The Draugr Death Overlord in Volskygge.
-It took two hits to notice any change in his health (any change in the pixels of his health bar).
-I was melee based, he was melee based
-He could 1 hit me no matter what - even if I blocked. This forced me to rely on dodging his attacks or shield bashing him before he attacked
-He could use maxed out unrelenting force, which was an instant kill since he could hit you before you got up
-He could use disarm, and I only had one shield (which was basically essential to bash him and prevent attacks)
-I was level 21.
-Master difficulty. I had about 5 minor healing potions. That's all.
-No werewolf mode.
And to top it all off, the dragon priest after him (Volsung) could snipe me from afar with ice spike and it was (obviously) a one hit kill.
It was technically impossible, but I managed to get away, get the atronach stone and come back. It helped a lot since it absorbed half his shouts.

As a pure mage this [&@%!] from Peryites quest, Orchendor, was the hardest. My magic had no effect, so I brought him down with summons + my bowskill (never used before this fight).
