I have to say, I now realize why fantasies are always ruled by kings. Damn, it's so much cooler than a republic. Much more drama and intrigue. I began creating a character for Aurora who wanted to take power, but I'm reduced to saying she has to campaign in her home city for title of Councilwoman in a democratic election. Boring.

I keep thinking about making my own roleplay, though I think it would be too much damn work.

I've been thinking about the possibility of a Halo roleplay. Be a marine, an ODST, or possibly even a Spartan (maybe limited spots for Spartan?), on some sort of mission(s). I think about making it, but it would be a pain in my ass, especially with my laptop out of commission. Should anyone feel sufficient drive to commit to such a task, I would be happy to help with storyline/background, character sheets, whatever.

Senatorial backstabbing! Intrigue! Secret bombings meant to look like a terrorist organization!

And if you want them to take power...then they murder their opponents and become Speaker of the House, or Grand Chancellor, or whatever other Grand Poobah title you invent. Or, they muster an army and take over violently!

I'm thinking, for a stat/attribute system, perhaps Fallout's SPECIAL. I have no idea how the combat would be decided, especially with Luck. I think that Spartans should have more points in other stats, but only a 1 in Luck. Spartans make their own luck. (And all but like 2 or 3 [arguable] of them died, so...Not very lucky.) I think the specializations would be neat--yknow, you have your engineers and demo guys-I see Spartans lugging around mines and rocket launchers, for the demo guys-and CQC specialists, with shotguns and SMGs, and of course snipers. Seriously. Anyone interested in DMing or something, let me know.

For the Halo RP you should make up your own skill system. Like:

Hell, I dunno. I'm writing stuff up and then throwing it away.
