Who here has enjoyed playing Morroblivion?
Who here has enjoyed playing Morroblivion (see http://morroblivion.com/), using Oblivion's game engine to play Morrowind in?

Re: Who here has enjoyed playing Morroblivion?
Tried the old one where it was the best results to use a converter, and tuned it a little in regard to settings based on trial and error.
Was finished "stuff" too but this was early on,main quest only up to sul-matul.
Got told elsewhere it was much more mature nowadays, ran ok on my pc then, when the converter had done its work without issues that could lead to things malfuntioned.
On the other hand I´m perfectly happy with MW+mods on its own,and OB+mods on its own, mixing them up was a huge nostalgic trip but as said it was rather unfinished then.
Besides you where on your own pretty much since it was a somewhat hot topic on forums, with the exception of a few.
Was great fun to see ghostgate and selected npc´s though
Did take a look when I was told about its much more mature condition now,and it looks like it is pretty much sorted out with everything.

Guess this thing is hard to place, but in the end you play it from within oblivion, not my problem, said that a lot lately, liberating actually, works too but it has a habit to get people upset with me,still not my problem as the free spirit I´m
Uggly faces ? maybe if you run it on vanilla, had a bunch of faces so they looked good, suspect they kinda go from what you have.

I'd just prefer to play Morrowind with the graphics overhaul, the mixing and matching of Morrowind dialogue and Oblivion graphics just don't fit with me. It almost takes the uniqueness of of Morrowind.

I agree. To be honest, I fail to see the point in remaking a great game in another great game. They're both excellent as they are, so why mix them? Fine, if it was quick and easy to do, but that's not the case.CerbUn313 wrote:I'd just prefer to play Morrowind with the graphics overhaul, the mixing and matching of Morrowind dialogue and Oblivion graphics just don't fit with me. There is a single installer to create Morroblivion. The unofficial Oblivion patch needs to be installed first for Oblivion GOTY. And of course Morrowind GOTY needs to be installed.ClockworkCadaver wrote:Fine, if it was quick and easy to do, but that's not the case.

I was referring to the mod authors. I'm sure they have their reasons, though.

Interesting. Never heard of it to be quite honest. When I developed my user name it was out of sheer randomness, and I wanted something original. So its not like i was mocking the name of this. Maybe I'll check it out some time.

Re: Who here has enjoyed playing Morroblivion?
I haven't got the mod to install right. The ship is missing and everyone (including me) keeps falling into an abyss. The host they use to provide their site and downloads has banner ads that are infected with a virus that say your computer is infected and tries to get you to click OK and look for credit card info and hose your computer. So I gave up on the Morroblivion thing.MoncarBelvani wrote:Morroblivion was just awful.

I never tried Morroblivion. For me, it is a little like colorizing old movies. Something not right about the whole thing. Morrowind is still a great game, not because of its limited graphics, but partly because of it.

I think Oblivion has much better graphics than Morrowind. And Morrowind has much better artwork than Oblivion.wyldefx wrote:Morrowind is still a great game, not because of its limited graphics, but partly because of it.

Re: Who here has enjoyed playing Morroblivion?
Morrowind is the best. Morroblivion is catastrophic to morrowind. Of course this is open to debate, but I like Morrowind for a number of reasons. First is the way the world looks in the game.. Of course, coming previous to Oblivion and Skyrim, morrowind doesn't have the near photographic quality nearly achieved by Skyrim, and to a lesser extent, Oblivion. Personally, that is what I like though. Similar to W.O.W., which, like Morrowind, doesn't have that photographic look, but the graphics that immediatelly preceded that. They are good enough to make scenery look nice, but not too in depth too the point where it is no longer "escapism", but "realism". Color-wise, Morrowind has this rustic, not overly colorful look to it. That I like as well. To all they're own opinions though on whats best, but to me, Morrowind is the greatest of them all.

Re: Who here has enjoyed playing Morroblivion?
Agreed. I had fun playing Morroblivion, but it just wasn't the same. The graphics and lighting of Oblivion are just too... different. They don't capture Morrowind's style. I mainly played it because, unlike the Morrowind Overhaul, it's conversion to the Oblivion engine gave it physics. Other than that, though, I recommend the Morrowind Overhaul over Morroblivion any day.CerbUn313 wrote:I'd just prefer to play Morrowind with the graphics overhaul, the mixing and matching of Morrowind dialogue and Oblivion graphics just don't fit with me. Re: Who here has enjoyed playing Morroblivion?
I tried it, and though I liked the scenery, couldn't continue it because...the Oblivion faces. In addition to quite a few textures glitching up. It's...just not the same. Going to try Morrowind Overhaul pretty soon, when I do another playthrough of the MQ. It sounds so pretty. Skywind sounds pretty intriguing, though. For all the Morrowind stuff and the scenery, at least. ^.^
