Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition
I think this game deserves an entirely separate topic from the orginal Minecraft topic, since Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition, is, almost an entirely different game. I bought it this morning, for 1600 Microsoft points. I wasn't sure what to expect, I hadn't seen much gameplay. I started it up, and the Main Menu UI was much different from the PC, I wasn't sure why I was expecting a carbon copy of the PC Version. I started a survival world, and the first thing I noticed was the complete absence of any kind of lag whatsoever, it must have been maybe 60 fps, no mater where I looked or what I did. You start out with a map, oddly enough, but you don't even spawn at the center of it. I got some achievements, an not long after is when I realized it's greatest flaw, no InfDev, the world was bound, it was a square cluster of islands, limited space, hopefully they change that eventually. It's kind of confusing, actually, the game isn't based on one version of Minecraft, it's really more of a mixture of Beta and Alpha elements. I really like it, though, it's not dissapointing, besides the lack of InfDev, the only flaw...
So, did you get it?

Re: Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition
Minecraft for the xbox has everything that was included in minecraft up to the Beta 1.6.6 release im used to playing with a keyboard and mouse so using a controller is a bit strange but after 8 hours of playing it yesterday I got the hang of it.

Re: Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition
What I'd like to know from anyone who tries it out: what do you prefer more, the PC version or the 360 one? I think I'll stick with PC (because I play on a server where we "roleplay" and I own my own kingdom, of course), but the 360 version could be fun.

Re: Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition
I prefer the PC version, but that might be just because I haven't quite gotten used to the 360 version yet. The controls are kind of hard to get used to.Avron the S'wit wrote:What I'd like to know from anyone who tries it out: what do you prefer more, the PC version or the 360 one? Re: Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition
Of course, if I could play the PC version, I would definitley prefer it over the 360 version, for now, at least, but once they introduce InfDev to the 360 version, which I hope they do soon, then it should be close to the same level as the PC version.Avron the S'wit wrote:What I'd like to know from anyone who tries it out: what do you prefer more, the PC version or the 360 one? I hate the xbox controls for minecraft a lot. I don't know why they feel so sluggish, but maybe it will get better.

Hahaha. That is a major flaw. Might just be a bug.

Re: Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition
The 360 one is not the full version, and just the Beta.
That makes it inferior to the PC one.

Oh, that's cool. Now my file got corrupted somehow and completely crashes my system whenever I try to load it. That's a real shame, I just got some Diamonds and Obsidian. Now, I gotta do it all over again.

Re: Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition
I'd suggest ya'll go over to the Minecraft Forums, as they've been really up to speed on everything that has been going on, and any bugs that are out there. My experience with it has been great, besides the bug where, and remember this so you don't repeat it, I selected "Exit" then "Save and Quit" and most times it will freeze, corruption your file. So remember, save manually before exiting your game.
As far as controls go, they're definitely new to me, but I'd much rather sit comfortably and play this for hours at a time than sit a computer for that long. :3 The developers say that it definitely will be patched constantly, but mods are confirmed to be NOT in the game. Here's the Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition sub-forum, in the Minecraft forums, and it has been very useful since I signed up today.

*1024x1024. It's obviously much smaller than infinity, but they have confirmed it will be updated soon, and even at the size it's at, I still love it.Cardbird wrote:i would get it, butttt 1000x1000

Re: Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition
I wonder, when the InfDev update comes out...would the 360 have the same glitch as the PC where chunks don't load sometimes?

Re: Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition
I had been looking at getting it since I play it on my Mac right now and having many problems. Thanks for the info though because I was not sure how it was going to be and didn't want to get it if it was not going to work correctly.

So, today myself and Baloth-Kul discussed perhaps starting a UESP members-only Minecraft: XBLE world. Anyone else have this game and would like to be in?

Re: Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition
Seriously, don't start that, Spiney. I have Minecraft for the PC and the Xbox, and that goes for a lot of people. We just like playing with our XBL friends easier, reliving the fun of the updates (it's on 1.7 as of right now), and because it's Minecraft.Spiney wrote:Hehe, you console players have to buy skins.

HAHAHAHA! That's great.
Also, lol you have to buy skins. Seriously, I just don't understand why you guys put up with things like that. Creating a skin takes half an hour, tops. Hell, I have a gallery full of skins I've created, and I suck at drawing.

Re: Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition
Meh, it's M$, what you gonna do? 2 bucks for 40 skins isn't that bad, either, compared to what Lionhead has gotten away with. It's really great fun to sit down on the couch with four of your buds and play some splitscreen Minecraft. Plus mulitplayer is much simpler.Mars wrote:HAHAHAHA! That's great.

I don't see what's complex about PC SMP, but okay.
Also, I didn't realize it was that cheap. Still, custom skins rock.
