OMG... the sky is falling...???

Oh, wait... it says several times "Judge or Jury". It does not anywhere say that the prison has a say in the matter.

I repeat: Judge or Jury. It also say that it is done on an annual review basis.

...but wait, that's not all. If you order now, you can get:
Prior to release from state confinement, the ESRC will request a forensic psychological evaluation to determine whether those offenders who appear to meet the definition of a sexually violent predator do in fact meet criteria for civil commitment.
...but wait, there is more:
Civil commitment referrals are reviewed and processed by the King County Prosecutor’s Office SVP Unit or the Washington State Office of the Attorney General SVP Unit
And don't forget: Annual Reviews, and Judge or Jury.

You're right. Judges and/or juries won't ever rely, nor have ever relied, on anything the staff of the prison have had to say. Current prisoners, whom psychologists have already cleared, haven't been held indefinitely, anyhow. It's just a bunch of hyperbole based on events that have haven't happened.

Sorry to bust your balls, but this is past-tense. These abuses have already taken place, and there have been numerous offenders who've served their time fairly and honestly, trying their best to reintegrate, only to be snatched back up a year or so later and thrown back in--without an explanation, and without any due process or recourse.

I'm all about catching the ass holes that commit actual crimes (I wouldn't be in the career path I'm in if I weren't), but I'm also about fairness and due process.

EDIT: See this article for starters.

If you do not want people to point out the errors of the Hyperbole that you are making up, then stop posting them.

Seriouslly... bust my balls...??? ...on the internet...???

You need to stop taking yourself so seriously.

(Says the man with his name all embellished on his profile ;) )

. . .I'm not? You need to stop reading posts so dramatically in your head? Sheesh..

And, problem is, nothing I said was hyperbolic...it is/was true. I was being facetious in my response to you, nothing more, nothing less. Not sure how you read it, but I was more joking with you than anything.

The link you posted from Wash State did not support what you were saying. ...thus, you were making it up.

If you would have posted the one from Virgina instead, then my response would have been different.

...as for the signature and avatar, that is a joke, from earlier today. Anytime I have them, it is for a joke. I do not do signatures and avatars. :P

I see where you're coming from. On all three lines. Hope you understand where I'm coming from, now, too :D Maybe my sense of humor doesn't translate well online, sometimes..

But as far as the first link in the first post about this topic, I'm used to reading into the implications of certain laws as they're written. The law, itself, leaves far too much room for subjective interpretation from which abuses can arise. There are many laws that have this flaw, but relatively few that are being auctioned-off to private, for-profit, firms such as in this case in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and has already been done so in the state of New Jersey--even fewer that deprive people of their freedoms so easily and permanently.

House of the Wolf wrote:For any who are unfamiliar with what a debtor prison is: "A debtors' prison is a prison for those who are unable to pay debt."

The US Supreme Court ruled against these types of imprisonments in Bearden v. Georgia, 461 U.S. 660 (1983): "A sentencing court cannot properly revoke a defendant's probation for failure to pay a fine and make restitution, absent evidence and findings that he was somehow responsible for the failure or that alternative forms of punishment were inadequate to meet the State's interest in punishment and deterrence, and hence here the trial court erred in automatically revoking petitioner's probation and turning the fine into a prison sentence without making such a determination."

However, it seems that, now, many states are circumventing this through other means to imprison people, essentially for being poor.

MSNBC discussed this the other day. I know Doros would be delighted that the "goals of the proletariat are meeting full", but what do you think of this?

One - No two things we should all be familiar with.

Charles Dickens and...
You don't have to be white to have European in you,
We must remember that white is not a 'color' but rather a 'condition of political and economic access in comparison to other peoples. More specifically oppressed minorities in White Settler States'.

While European and White are typically homogenous due to the fact of Europeans of Western European orientation and origin setting up and populating these white settler states - typically there can be a 'No'.

For example - the Irish and Eastern European immigrants in America were not white up until their (USA) need to use these peoples as fodder both to make sure that there would be NO legitimate threat posed by the African American population and to create a new-Labour Aristocracy that would remove the final elements of the slavocracy civilization the South had set up. (Har har, pseudo-Romans)

They then 'became' White. Case in point - could you name one example that the US decided to stop or halt any assaults on chinese settlements both before and after the Chinese Exclusion Act(s)?

Likely there was no halting, there was reporting. Reporting on making the chinese immigrants look like Opium Lords whom took innocent white females into harems and made them into sex-slave. (oh-so ironic for the US did this to apache females they captured. Derp de derp)

You're more than welcome to take a look at how the Polish treat immigrants (particularly "non-white"), and tell me that you have any actual ground to stand on. While you (at best) are devolving, as a society (giving you any sort of credit that you potentially evolved, at all), the US has evolved relatively rapidly. Things could still use a little fixing, but we're nowhere near as backward as many of the Pol's..so worry about your backyard. :D
