And what "anecdotal evidence" is that spiney? Grasping at strawsn again. The FACT I'm at least twice many of your age isn't "anecdotal". Another fail at misappropriated logic.

This is the 3rd thread that, quite frankly, your going to get locked. Why are you that guy who jumps on the alter and says God is false.

Your the one who jumps into the middle of the party and says NO DRINKING IS BAD!

Your the one at Woodstock who says WEED KILLS!

Just, why waste your time? Why write novels on the "facts" ?
I don't care if they're facts that will win me a million $ on who wants to be a Millionare.

Take your straight edge crap and preach it to someone else. By the way it sounds, your older then mostly all of us, and can't handle the fact that your life experience's have taught you the true way and people aren't grasping it.....im sorry, my mistake is not listening to your mistakes....sue me. Cuz i'm totally good with it.

oh get over your age....your really really starting to sound like a grumpy old man.....i can see a 28 yr old saying that to a 14 yr old, because they're young enough to be caught up in the "i'm older then you" thing..... but come on...you just sound like 40, 50+ [&@%!] off person.

It's just, annoying.

Goddamn, I thought most people grew out of their insecurities. If you're that much more experienced, and your opinions are more valid, why haven't you shot me down? Why haven't you posted something I can't find a fault in? Surely you should be able to put forward a flawless rational argument... unless, of course, your experience is completely worthless when it comes to debating. And if that's the case... why do you still have that superiority complex?

As I said in the other thread, cool it with the ad hominems. I'm sure the fact that I'm 19 instantly makes my argument invalid in your eyes, but I doubt many people see the world as you do, and your 'appeal to authority' fallacies won't be working here.

For what it's worth, while you guys debate I'm going to go see the blues brothers live and drink beer :D

At the show they play in the movie at Bob's Country Bunker, the 9 of them rack up a $300 beer tab. In 1980. That's like 20 beers a person. If it's good enough for the blues brothers ...

I had this dream that I chugged like 4 bottles of vodka throughout the night, and had no ill effects from it. I think it was a sign. It was crazy, I was just drinking all night, and nothing at all happened.

After being on vacation last week, and being in a mostly constant state of semi-buzzed, I'm hankering for a few beers. I've gotta work tonight, but this weekend, I think its going down.

@Clotted, in my experience beer is one of those drinks that you either really enjoy, or can't stand. My brother mostly hates beer, and doesn't ever really drink it. I on the other hand really like the taste of most beers, and prefer it over other alcohol.

I didn't like beer at first....but, I've grown fond of it.

Plus....it's much more manageable to have a few beers, and keep it together....then to have a few liquor drinks.

hrm, let's back up and hit the rewind button for a review of the facts, shall we?

and for what it's worth, I sent this to Cam ...
Ragnarok wrote:... hopefully, you can understand the whole drugs and legalization issue is one of my many "hot button" topics. I've travelled the road and done the AA and NA thing. I've personally known and cared about many who've been through the wringer with drugs and lost everything, some even their lives after losing the fight. nothing [&@%!] me off more than listening to a bunch of crap about the real effects of drugs from a bunch of kids who apparently haven't ever had any real or practical experience with the dark side of it. they think its funny and something to crack jokes about and make fun of. trust me, there's nothing funny about any of it. maybe there was back when I was a dumb inexperienced kid, but that was before I damn near died myself from somone giving me some bad crap they'd stepped on with carpet cleaner. another friend of mine almost OD'd when someone sold him a joint laced with crank, and there's plenty more such stories where those came from. none of them are funny, glamorous, pretty or romanticised. I no longer have any delusions or illusions left about the real cost of drugs and I hate pushers with a passion. I consider anyone who advocates for drugs as "pushing" considering the fact they're effectively promoting it. let them walk a mile in my shoes, see the things I've seen and see if they can still justify and rationalize all that BS.
yeah, I've been through the wringer and I've known many other such people. friends and family. my grandfather drank himself to death as I watched my favorite grandpa kill himself as a kid, so before you hop on your "drugs R good" soapbox, maybe you should do some actual research. go and talk to people who have lost friends and family to OD and drug and gang wars and turf disputes. walk a mile in some else's shoes besides your own. maybe its fun now for a few of you. hell, I had fun too, but nothing is ever free and there's always a hidden cost. I hope your arse can cover all those checks your mouth is writing. I've seen the worst of the dark side of alcohol and drugs. I stated my opinion on the matter, not necessarily directed at anyone specifically, just stating my opinion and got ganged up on and attacked for doing so and then criticised for firing back. I'm not the one who needs to take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror, but its always easier to point to finger at the other guy isn't it, spiney, hat and rhyme? its easier to make a big joke out of someone else's misery and laugh about it, right? cause that's exactly what you did. like it or not, its my opinion and its not going to change to suit you so deal with it or get used to it.

Yeah, cool sob story you have there. Too bad it doesn't change anything anyone here has said. The fallacies you made are still fallacies, the personal attacks you made are still personal attacks, and the evidence you ignored is still being ignored. If only 'appeal to emotion' was also a logical fallacy. Oh wait - it is.

Hat, he does have a right to post in the thread, seeing as its purpose is to discuss anything alcohol related. The best thing to do if you don't agree with what he's saying is just to ignore it, and post like you would normally in this thread. It's become apparent that neither side is going to agree with the other, and the back and forth arguments will just get it locked. Ignore him, and he might stop posting. If he keeps posting, he's allowed but if no one is responding, there is no argument to be had and the thread can continue with him still being allowed to post his opinions. If he annoys you that much, just block him. And I'm posting this here so that everyone can see it, not just directing it at you Hat.

In fact it is viable but I am a bottle short of the feat. I guess those slavic genes turn up for some sort of immunity to alcohol. Still I sometimes surprise myself how much I have drunk in a night with some proper good company. Still vodka isnt that hard to drink, spirits and schnaps are much more of a kick imo, especially those strange multiherbal thingies...

An advice, be cautious about the Terrano Liquor from my region, it tastes divine but comes with an afterkick that makes of Hiroshima a walk in the park.
