None of that made sense to me. How does a grown plant drug become more potent? Unless you mean to say that stuff got added to it, or that we simply measured it wrong.

I'm not a biologist, but plants don't just change like that, I think. I could be wrong.

A lot of these points that I've seen said otherwise in other studies.

I can look through Google Scholar or any other database I have access to, to see arguments for either side saying opposite things.

Also, snip that bloody quote out of your post Hat.

What does that mean, "more potent than ever"?
It's been formulaically grown with the seeds of the strongest MJ they have at the time, with the end result of a more potent substance. Not to mention that a lot of the Marijuana distributed in the US is laced with a little bit of something.

try reading the post

"Marijuana is much stronger now than it was decades ago. According to data from the Potency Monitoring Project at the University of Mississippi, the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content of commercial-grade marijuana rose from an average of 3.71 percent in 1985 to an average of 5.57 percent in 1998. The average THC content of U.S. produced sinsemilla increased from 3.2 percent in 1977 to 12.8 percent in 1997.7 "
Sorry, I was thrown by the superlative-- something else I'm trained to sniff out. "Ever" can hardly be defined as "between 1985 and 1998".

yeah, I've seen the arguments on both sides and the ones from the pro-pot side have been pretty well propagandized taking bits and pieces out of context and subtely twisting them to suggest the research is invalid or overstated.

dude, I haven't smoked pot in over 20 years ...

*edit*

the real question is why are you so desperate to shift the focus to me rather than dealing with the facts ...illegitimate form of attack ... get if from religionists all the time defending their god fix ... they're addicts too, and they always prefer to shoot the messenger too ... seems you two groups have a lot in common ...

I love you so much....

@Rag: You know what that research you pulled out sounds very nearly like in both effects of chronic use and addiction? Alcohol.

You know what it sounds like in the fact that over-use and chronic use have negative effects? Any substance on earth. I'm actually surprised at how low the statistics in your sources are.

Oh my... I don't think I've ever seen anyone besides Doros immediately shoot himself in the face in one post.

nice try again wolf, but the fact is there's little distinction between the research showing the negative effects of pot and other drugs like coke and heroine, as I already stated, so unless you plan to start arguing for every illicit drug, you don't really have a leg to stand on and you know it.

I do like how the points go over the affects of overuse, and use in children.

Well herpa derp, the same could be said of Alcohol and smoking. If you wanna argue that point, by your logic, we outta ban those two substances too.

What's funny about all this is that I'm not the one pointing out who has less to stand on by doing nothing but saying "you have less to stand on".

I think this is the part of the argument where things get cyclical, and I bow out.
