Upon entering the town center, Jad saw R'anga's body, as well as everyone standing around discussing it. He closed his eyes and began to intone

He then looked up, and pondered. "We draw nearer and nearer to the stalemate that will end us. The list of suspects grows short. Though I have harbored a lingering suspicion for some time, I could not, until now, reasonably make any sort of accusation based on it. Now, however, I feel I would lose more than I would gain by staying quiet. My vote is for Deandra. I would urge the rest of you to think carefully on your votes, and not just to go along with the crowd - our very souls may depend on it."

And so, in the middle of the thunderstorm, the villagers marched Justice the Imperial Guardsman to his death. How funny it would be, they might later reflect, that a man known for being such a stout upholder of the law would be incorrectly identified as a murderer. As Justice drew his last breath the heavens crackled with thunder - and, they were very sure, the deep, haughty laughter of a certain Daedric Prince.

There were but ten people left in the village: six villagers, and four worshipers. If the villagers did not guess correctly come the morning, the game for them would be lost.

Deandra sighed sadly and went home. She noticed that the storm had made many of her plants flop over, their flowers in the mud. She locked the door and spent a few hours in quiet contemplation before going to bed.

When Nanza got home he sat down with the bottle of spiced Argonian wine his uncle had given him on his birthday last year. Powerful stuff. He uncorked it and tried to wash away the angst that had been building up ever since Mayor Avron was murdered. He walked over to the cold hearth and pulled out a piece of Khajiit Jokes Through The Ages that had somehow escaped the hunger of the flames. He read it: "Why do Khajiit lick their butts? To get the taste of Khajiit cooking out of their mouths!"

No amount of buttlicking will salvage our tongues from the bitter taste of death and corruption, he thought to himself.

Nanza went to bed, though he doubted he'd get much sleep.

Mars was in shock. He had been certain that Justice was one of them...and now truth had hit him in the fac, so strongly that his teeth might have fallen out. He went to bed in worry, certain that he would be the next to be sentanced to death by the other villagers.
