So many choices...veteran advice please?
I've been messing with MODs for the past two days now, officially jumped into the forums with a glitch thread, and am now looking at the lists of mods here. I am not very far into my game, and am considering a new MOD collection. As far as graphics, my old collection is terribly outdated, and the eye candy I am seeing is making me feel like I just bought the game again. ^^
My curiosity is this: Out of the options of Povuholo's ToMorrowind, BTB's Morrowind Mod List, Morrowind Expanded, and Knots' Mod Guide, which seems to be the overall favorite/best for replacement and feel? I am also looking at the INI tweaks, and of course the Hall Of Fame mods.
That being said, could I adopt one of these lists and add other mods, or make an amalgamation of my own choices from all these sources with little to no adverse effects? My time in PES and other places is slight compared to those of you I have seen on here thus far, and my knowledge of dirty mods or incompatibilities with other mods is somewhat limited. Trial and error, as it were. I love weapons addons, dungeon/area addons, and it seems most lists are focused on graphic replacement. Also, I am wondering with the Sticky List here, have the mods listed therein have confirmed capability with the highly suggested mods on these other lists?
My goal is to play through TESMW, Ob, and Skyrim, and then move on to the MMO. My Skyrim is actually still in the shrink wrap on my desk... XD Anyways, I'm just looking for the best experience possible, and I'd like to have more than just the graphics non-vanilla. Thanks!
Edit: Any good lists of install order out there? Or general basics on it?
2nd Edit: As I know you guys ask for performance, I'm running an HP dv7t Quad (I laptop game because I travel for work a lot) with an [email protected], 8gb ddr3, Radeon 7690m XT graphics w 2gb dedicated graphics. The rest is unimportant bells and whistles.

When I awoke this morning, no one was on the boards so I just started nailing the links suggested by some of the sources above. MGSO has definitely been downloaded, but I thought I read something about it conflicting with MGE?
EDIT: Disregard, that was MWSE.

Re: So many choices...veteran advice please?
Ah, thanks for the clarification on that! I found a great online list to check mod compatibility with as well, so I'm essentially downloading what I want, and I'll check before I attempt to install, mlox, and wrye bash it into submission. ^^ I think I have all the big ones, LCV, MGSO, TR, etc. I downloaded the additional islands and most mods in the sticky posts. Some I have had a while (Better Bodies for example), but redownloading for the sake of making sure I have the latest version and the world is no longer on dial up. =) Thanks!

About BB it is an "Extra High Resolution Pack Female Textures for Better Bodies" out there somewhere, authors Cappucine & Westly, can´t link here but TES Search might do,or bigger sites like PES or something,I dunno
http://www.tessearch.com/
Otherwise I pick separate packs from several authors probably mentioned in the guides, almost have to see for your self in a proper program, for dds-files any dds viewer do,easier than open it up in a full blown editor like paint, gimp & gimpshop or photoshop anyway, even if photoshop have the option to browse easy through files with the dds plugin installed.

The rings will add a nice touch, to be sure thanks! TES search seems to just not function at all for me. Even the word "better" brings up no results. As of yesterday afternoon, and through today so far, I have been unable to connect on ElricM's site...which is a shame, because he has pretty much anything PES doesn't have anymore. There's been some scouring to be sure. I spent an hour or so on a completely foreign page to get some of Westly's and Vurt's mods. The interesting part will be running them through the ringer. Probably double check them against a nice mod list on the net here, then go through the painful process of Wrye Mashing and cleaning what I can't use.

Checked my self, looks like TES Search have trouble now, have been down occasionally before too,but only for brief periods of time, maybe Yacoby is busy.
When it works it is great.

Yes, PES is having issues left and right with files not being there (404 errors) or trying to DL as rubbish. I'm assuming and hoping it's due to the archiving of the site. There's a few left on my list to try and I'm having a terrible time hunting them down...

Uhm, there is still mods to be found outside the huge sites as nexus, pes and so on,modders have their own sites and what not,got some of those bookmarket at least,so you could send preferably a not so long list either here or pm,and if you got lucky I know about a mod or two,if not there might be alternatives, plenty of them mods out there for sure
(if you list it here use spoilers if it is a long list, besides others might have some input too)
As PES goes, new people that apparently don´t have it easy,so don´t blame those poor buggers who tries to do a good work there, the problem is higher up.

Re: So many choices...veteran advice please?
I will most certainly do so. I'm not sure how to use spoilers, but was essentially just making a install and load order sample once everything works out. Currently I'm completely hindered on MGSO for some reason that I have quite ironed out. I found one sample list online at all that referenced (as best I could tell because it was mentioned by the OP) MGSO, although an older version. But it still gave me an idea of what can work. A lot of mods I've found are/were on PES and other major sites, but I have found some on other sites that were no longer available anywhere else. Elric's was great for the hard to find mod, but it's been down about a week.

Yeah, I will post them now, although I planned on doing so once everything's running alright, that way I don't mislead anyone.
I am on a laptop, simply because I travel 6 months out of the year for work. It's an HP dv7Quad with Win7 64bit, Intel core i7QM @2.20 GHz on each end (reflects 2.20GHz twice in my system specs), 8GB DDR3 RAM, and ATI Radeon HD 7960M XT standalone graphics w 2560MB of dedicated RAM. For those who bother looking at system scores under Windows' Control Panel, mine is a 5.9, only because I have a mechanical hard drive, next lower score being a 6.6 on graphics. I run a 17" widescreen with 1920x1080 native resolution, which is a 16:9 aspect ratio. If you're curious as to any other specs, just ask. ^^
