The Pocket Guide to The Empire and its environs http://til.gamingsource.net/pge/ is about the most complete single source of knowledge on Tamriel. But there are quite a few books detailing separate different regions.

well i guess ive found out some of what i was looking for but i was wondering how often (if ever) the other continents are talked about, akavir is mentioned alot in oblivion (well a bit i guess) but besides that i havent heard about any other continents. ive read a bit about akavir and even less about yokuda and nothing about atmora and was wondering if beth has even created the other side of the planet other than a few brief explainations, im not trying to sound like im talking trash but if i was creating a fantasy world i'd have every continent ALL on ONE BIG map and it's not like the world outside of tamriel hasn't been explored to some extent. sorry bout all the questions ans run-on sentances...there's probablly more to come anyways
It ain't easy being a sload :(

Mundus have been explored to -some- extent, yes, but more is unknown than known, and outside of Tamriel only Akavir is known to be civilised, so with vast unexplored areas of Tamriel remaining to be used, there's no interest in deeper exploration of the rest of the world.

As for creating the world, the moment you draw the last line on the map, you can't add anything more. There are finished, polished and complete worlds like Tolkien's Middle Earth - but authors of TES consider uncompleteness of Tamriel's world a feature - they can invent, add, create new things as they go, claiming they were either unmentioned or undiscovered earlier. The description of the world is incomplete purposedly, blank spaces "reserved for future use".

Hammerfell is the Redguards home.

But what about Wayrest, Daggerfall, Sentinel and Orsinium, as described in Warp in the West, The(http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tamriel:Books/ ... est%2C_The)

And between, there is the place in which the Skaal lives, described in the book Story of Aevar Stone-Singer, The (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tamriel:Books/ ... ger%2C_The) Ofcause this might be Tamriel.
I came, I read, I wrote.

Wayrest, Daggerfall, Sentinel and Orsinium are all part of High Rock, right? four kingdoms.
The Skaal live in Skyrim. Its another name for the Nords.

But, Atmora also is civilised. It has to be.
ITS WHERE HUMANS CAME FROM!
not all humans left, so its pretty certainly inhabited by humans.

Yokuda is destroyed. Redguards came from Yokuda.

And of course, Akavir. Also inhabited. Nerevarine went there to do ...
i dont know.
A single dedicated mind can cause about the greatest destruction. That, or goblins, goblins work too.
