I encountered what seemed to be a blitz of Dawnguard quest-starting propaganda. I got the guard dialogue the second I walked into the Temple of Mara courtyard in Riften, then on my way out of the city,
Spoiler:
Two Death Hounds and a Master Vampire attacked, only to be put down by the guards and Durak, who also suggested I visit Fort Dawnguard. And also, after exiting Dimhollow Crypt with Serana, I visited the Hall of the Vigilant and discovered that it was indeed a smoldering ruin.
Start the groove.

I didn't the first time (the bugged time) but I did when playing through with another character who didn't exhibit the bug. This is the member who tells you about the Hall of the Vigilant.

I visited the Hall first this time, then went to Fort Dawnguard. This seems to avoid the bug.
Oh... I recently went and slaughtered every Vigilant of Stendarr there with both characters I plan on doing DG with. When I get DG on friday, does anyone know if this will complicate things? :?

Does Dawnguard take place in Skyrim, or are any new towns outside of the main headquarters added?

So, without spoiling anything for someone that won't be able to play Dawnguard until Thursday, did Dawnguard exceed your expectations?

Spoiler:
He states he was in kvatch when it was attacked. Just the links to all the games are making me happy. AND he has the original husky voice of the dunmer.
Well I'm chuffed.

New AI animations and follower movements pretty immense too. Exceed all expectations so far.

, is a GREAT companion. Seriously, like, so well done.

Actually has AI and interacts with things, and doesn't say "OHH LOOK A CAVE" every 5 seconds.

Only encountered one real nuisance. When going between vamp lord and normal form the game equips all but one item. I usually never realize untill I'm oom and trying to cast 8+ incinerates into a crowd.

edit: anyone else have a hard time last hitting mobs to fill out the perk bar or doing power attack bites?

Omg. I have found a bug. I think. Not sure if this was prior to update but I can't purchase an alchemy room for breezehome anymore. It lets me buy it again and again but never gives it to me. Never encountered prior to installing... HMMMM.

But I have to agree with above, greatest companion there is.

In other news, I need help on DG.
Spoiler:
Can anyone tell me how to retrieve the Dragon Elder scroll? It just tells me to go to the College of Winterhold but then sets me prematurely on the trail of the elder scroll you get in the MQ. Is that the one I need or what?

I have to say this may just be the best DLC i've ever played. SO worth the money.

Not gonna spoil anything, but i will say that there is a MASSIVE side quest with has nothing to do with the main DLC storyline. It's huge. I don't even think i'm a quarter of the way through it yet. Been doing it for a while too.

I cannot stress how good this is.
