It is the year 301 of the First Era, the reign of Emperor Vier the first. It has been over three hundred years since Queen Bekar of the house of Vimire drove out the Daemons of the Void, but the world is still a turbulent, wild place. A shadow looms over Mithraleeth, cast by the ever-expanding Mithraleenean Empire. Even worse, the Witches of Mortock grow ever stronger and the Lyncanthropes of the Shrine of Braeburn have howled again. The Dwarves of Kha have chosen to ignore the rising threat and have retreated to their caves. It is up to the Great Loch Clans to restore order. Will you be a great leader? Strong and ruthless, robust and merciful? Destined for greatness? Or will you be weak and fall to your enemies? All it takes is a weak rule and then the pieces fall into place. It is a time of darkness. It is a time of war.
Setting
This RP is set on the world of Cerceres, a fiction world made by me. It is filled with many races, from the humble Ael'nonuvah to the imperialistic Iberius.
Mithraleeth is a large, hilly country, located in the Mith Peninsular. It is filled with mystical and magical beasts, from the noble centaur to the magestic Kelpie. It has many highland forests and its mountain ranges are famed for being huge. It is a very divided country, both culturally and geographically. The great Mith River cuts through the centre of the nation, spawning the great lochs on the shores of which the Clans reside. It's population is mainly made up of Hardeteels and Iberius, with elves making up the minority. In the north, there is a significant Nargd population.
It is surrounded by four countries: Mithraleen (home of the Empire), Fjorr (a snowy, forested country), Miraleen (an unremarkable country) and Donton (an agricultural, fertile area).
Gods
Lokve:
Lokve, also known as Lokvia, Lokvius or Lokvre, is the chief of the Lokvian Pantheon, the gods of the accepted religion in the Empire and across many parts of the world. Lokve was the first dragon to become a God at the start of the universe. Everyone on Cerceres is said to be crafted from a part of his body. He has many enemies, who he battles in celestial wars. Alitura and the God of the Howling are two of his many godly enemies.
Factions
Mithraleeth is seperated into many factions. Most of these factions are clans.
Playable
The Clans:
Clan Braeburn - The largest and most prosperous clan. Despite its wealth and size, or perhaps because of it, it has gained attention from the Empire. It is also waging war against the Lyncanthropes and the Witches of Mortock. It has lots of forest and a few mountains. The chief settlement of the clan is Braeburn. It is situated on the shores of Loch Braeburn and it is surrounded by the Brae Forest. The clan dominates the snowy, forested region of the Brae, which takes up a large section of northern Mithraleeth. Its ancient ally is Clan Tiberius, however Clan Tiberius' involvment with the Mithraleenean Empire has strained the relationship. It has resisted the Empire's advances into Mithraleeth. The historical Brideias (kings) are the rulers of this clan and they hold much sway over the country. Brideia Mjurgu Brae is the ruler.
The Toils of are Labour Bring us Peace as the Reward
Clan Tiberius - The most strong of the clans. The clan's capital is Tiberius. It is situated on Lake Tiberius, the only Lake in Mithraleeth. Tiberius is an ancient, stone city with giant walls circling it. It is allied with the Empire. It has many forts and castles and has the most dominant military in Mithraleeth. Its ancient enemy is Clan Vettach, a clan that they have warred with for many years. Warlord Tiber is the chief of this clan. He resides in Castle Tiber.
Through Battle and War only can Peace be Achieved
Clan Mordach - Clan Mordach is situated in the mountainous regions near Loch Mordach. It is at war with Clan Strabo and the Mordach Bandit Clan. It has a Lockkit and a few forts and castles. It has been at war with Clan Strabo since both clans were conceived. Cadus (king) Hjurgid Mordach is the ruler. Its navy rivals Strabo's.
Proud and Ancient, We Stand Firm
Clan Strabo - Clan Strabo is a small but strong clan. It is one of only two clans to have a Lockkit, a fort that stretches across the loch, stopping enemy boats from passing. Strabusia (queen) Alumia Strabo was the ruler, however she was killed recently and King Orion came to power. He resides in Strabo, a great city made out of stone from the Khazak Mountains. It is the dominant naval power in Mithraleeth, despite having the second smallest loch.
Through Control of the Rivers, The World can be Conquered
Clan Frod - Clan Frod is the smallest clan, however, it owns a Magic Well and is in Mithraleen. As such, it is remtoe and hard to attack. It has lots of forest and mountains. It is allied with the Dwidorians, who are employed as warriors. It has only a few settlements and towns. The capital is Frod and Queen Malomia Frod lives there.
Size Matters Not, When you are at War
Clan Bruma - Clan Bruma is a small clan located on the shores of Loch Bruma. It has lots of forest and mountains. It is allied with Clan Strabo. The capital is Bruma. The loch is connected to the River Brum, which leads to Lochs Strabo and Mordach. It is allied with Strabo and, as a result, they are at war with Clan Mordach. Its ruler is Brumarus (king) Jorji Brum.
We Place our Trust in Lokvius, in the Hope that it will Pay Off
Clan Vettach - Clan Vettach is very strong and wealthy, almost rivalling Clan Tiberius and Clan Braeburn. It is situated on the shores of Loch Vettach and has the Vettach Forest around it. It has little mountains and very little minerals. It is almost as old as Clan Tiberius. Its power has waned after several years of bad rule and mismanagement. Its ruler is Vettachius (king) Vamorus Vetta, a young king of only twenty.
To be Renewed, You Must First be Old
Other Factions:
Lyncanthropes of the Shrine - These Lyncanthropes worship the god Howlock, ruler of the Howling. They are stronger than most other Lyncanthropes due to their worship. They are eternal enemies with the Witches of Mortock. They have no need for minerals and forest. They are well-guarded by a mountain pass. Their God grants them the power over the lesser mortals and they can use fear to command a vast army. They are ruled by Femrash (king) Vhryyjk of the Howling.
We no not Fear Death for we do not Intend to Meet It
Witch Clan of Mortock - The strongest of all ancient witch clans, the Witches of Mortock are vile and repulsive, unless they use their Nature Magicks which can absorb beauty from their surroundings. They are in touch with nature and can call upon animals to fight with them. They possess the Brae Magic Well, something that Clan Braeburn wants. They have lots of minerals and forests in which they can brew the most vile potions and mixtures. Their poisons can be used to assassinate leaders and their dark magic can corrupt people. They are headed by Matron Sjerrkya. Their Goddess is Alitura, a great enemy of Lokve.
Mordach Bandit Clan - The strongest bandit camp in the Mith, the Mordach Bandit Clan is home to the finest and most brutal warriors in Mithraleeth. What it lacks in defence and size, it makes up for sheer strength and numbers. It has a lot of forests and mountains. It is at war with Clan Mordach, and has been for many years. Its soldiers have the special ability to raid towns an villages unprotected.
Brute Force is our Trade
Unplayable
The Mithraleenean Empire - The Mithraleenean Empire is a great and strong kingdom, governed by Emperor Vier. It controls all of Mithraleen and it has expressed interest in Mithraleeth. It has vast armies at its command. So far, it has been diplomatic with the Great Loch Clans, however its patience is falling and its armies prepare for war. The capital city of the Empire is Crusada, a centre for culture, law and learning. It is a fairly new city, founded on the ash and rubble of a small town going by the same name.
The Dwarves of Kha - An old ally of Clan Braeburn, the Dwarves of Kha have retreated to their mountain caves in search of peace and freedom. They want no part in the upcoming wars. They have a great military and their technology is among the best in the world.
Magic
Magic exists in the world of Cerceres in huge numbers. Many particles of Essence can be found in Mithraleeth's many forests and rivers. Mithraleeth is also home to many Magic Wells. Magic Wells are natural phenomena which causes great eruptions of sparkling, blue Essence to blast from the ground, spraying magic into the air. People and animals that inhabit these areas are born with more natural talent concerning magic. Magic also exists in the blood, attached to the cells that carry oxygen. A living being needs Essence as much as it needs oxygen; it is vital in life. Magic can be used and activated by a simple spell word. As it is a time of ignorance, very few people know how to use magic so mages and witches are prized assets for an army.
Warfare
Since the dawn of Mithraleeth, war has been a key aspect of life. From raids on villages to sieges on cities, Mithraleeth is a very violent land. Warfare is pivotal in securing new areas for your citizens to live, your miners to mine and your soldiers to defend. The outcome of a battle is decided by me, the DM. The outcome of a fight can be decided on many factors: terrain, weather, morale, training of soldiers and tactics.
Resources
One of the most fundamental and important things, resources allow new walls and towers to be built, people to be fed and armies to be stocked. The amount of resources is decided by the amount of land you have, the landscape of that land and the skill of your workers.
Acquirement of Resources
Resources are collected at the end of each turn. They can be used to build, repair or upgrade defences (wood and stone). Metal can be used to make, repair and upgrade armour and weapons. Resources can also be sold. The resources collected by each faction differs.
Alliances
Alliances can be made with most factions, players-owned or otherwise. Certain factions are so different that they cannot get along. Allies are expected to assist their friends in battle and with economy. Alliances are not fixed and they can be broken.
Trade Agreements are like alliances, but they only require one faction to support another economically. Only the clans can do this.
Turns
This RP operates in turns. The length of each turn will depend on how long it takes for things to get done. Each turn is roughly equal to one month. Within that turn, you can, or rather your people can, mine for minerals, cut down trees and raid or attack enemies.
How to Defeat other Clans
To defeat other clans, you must capture or destroy all of their settlements. You must first destroy or capture their forts and castles. Then, you must attack the villages and town. Finally, you can attack the cities. To capture port settlements, you must first achieve naval dominance. To do that, you must defeat the other Clan's navy.
Raids
Raids are like attacks, however they differ in how many soldiers are involved in the attack. Raids can be perpetrated against small settlements and even caravans. The aim is to destroy as much as you can without being attacked. They are quick and brutal.
Spies
For a price, you can hire spies. If successful, spies can alert you of attacks and raids. They can also tell you how much resources your enemy has. Success is decided by a dice roll.

Leader: Clan Matron Sjerrkya
History(If changed): The only daughter of the former Clan Matron and her consort, Sjerrkya was appointed Matron at a young age, when her mother was assassinated by a peasant man. Morgausa was a cruel and terrible ruler, and Sjerrkya was hardly saddened by her death. She didn't have time to be. The fairly large Clan took much of her time to rule. Sjerrkya was trained in battle by the shamans of the clan -- she can wield axe and bow fairly. She was trained by the most powerful witches of the Clan in magic and potion-making. Throughout the years, she has proven a good leader, unlike her mother.
Personality(If changed): A fair yet strict ruler. The Clan Matron is a strong, traditional woman that would do anything for her people. She is magically inclined and isn't afraid to use it. She heeds the words of her adviser Voada above all else . . the wisewoman has proven to be more reliable than others. Unlike Voada, however, she also takes note of her consort Uthyrick's advice, even though the males of Mortock are viewed as hunters and soldiers, beneath the witches. When facing enemies, she is calm and ruthless, and her demeanor doesn't change much when she deals with allies. She isn't above betrayal or sabotage, as long as it is in the best interest of her Clan.

Amanda Valin: She is a young advisor but a strong one. She helps her older sister Gerdur in many ways. Rumours have been going around that Vettachuis had a intimate moment with her on multiple occassions.
Maester Caramir Genory: An old man, known for his powerful mind and wise advice. He is regarded as one of the most influental people withing Vettach. Many refer to him as; "The Knight of the Mind."
(Vettachuis has many other generals and advisors, but they are less meaningful and I will make them up on the fly.)
History of Leader: Also DM entred.
Personality: Vettachuis is a wise and strong king, but becasue of his young age he can be a bit impulsive and cocky. However, he relies strongly on the help of his advisors, but that also means his final decision is a well thought out one.
Skills: Armour production and Military.
Faction - Mordach Bandit Clan
Faction Name: Mordach Bandit Clan
History(For own clan): The clan started as a rebellion from the Mordach clan, and has thrived off the sheer strength of their soldiers since. They maintain their strength by taking over smaller settlements and training their soldiers to become war machines. What it lacks in defence and size, it makes up for sheer strength and numbers. It has a lot of forests and mountains. It is at war with Clan Mordach, and has been for many years. Its soldiers have the special ability to raid towns an villages undetected.
Leaders -
Leader: Farkir the Brutal
History(If changed): As custom, the oldest son of the Overlord must challenge his father to a one-on-one duel to the death. If the oldest fails then in exactly one year, the next son steps up to fight his father. If all the sons die, the current Overlord achieves godship and gets sacrificed and worshipped by the clan. By then, the general becomes Overlord. Farkir's father, Jurgon the Fierce, was Overlord until the age of 44 where he killed 3 of his 8 sons, finally falling to Farkir.
Personality(If changed): He shows no mercy. He has goals, and does whatever it takes to reach these goals. He adheres to all of his clans traditions.

Strangely enough he is working on a way to come to a truce with them as he respects their combat skills.
Personality(If changed): A strong man- he thinks every plan through and thinks of countless contingencies if it should fail. He also likes change as he thinks many of the ancient traditions are wrong and only make the strong stronger and the weak weaker.
Generals/Advisers:
Markus- the head of Willus' elite bodyguards- the crimson blades.
Khayla- Willus' second in command- she is a general without peer and is rumoured to be Willus' succesor.

Faction -
Faction Name: Mordach
History: An ancient clan, situated around the base of the Farach mountains, as the locals term them. They are the producers of the raw iron and processed steel for the whole of the region. Nearly constantly at war with the bandits and the witches, as well as their ancient enemy, Clan Strabo.
Leaders -
Leader: Cadus Ramsay Brock, Sr.
History: While he was a great warrior in his youth, winning many great battles against the bandits, Ramsay is swiftly advancing in his years. Now in his late sixties, he has a bad leg, and bad lungs. His mind is still sharp as ever, however, and he is a hard, demanding, but still effective leader. His wife, Alberta, died more than three decades ago. She left him four strong children, two boys and two girls. Since then, he has remarried, to a lady named Dorah Senjak. His wife was fifteen when he took her hand, and she is now thirty. She bore him a son and a daughter. He has one younger brother and an older sister.
Personality: As is aforementioned, he is strictly traditional, stubborn, experienced. He believes strongly in family bonds, and in the power of blood.
Generals/Advisers: Duncan Brock, Justiciar of Mordach. Ramsay's younger brother, and chief justice of all of those lands administered or claimed by Clan Mordach. Thusly, he is often known to make sudden, unpredictable forays into bandit territory, capturing dozens of men, trying them, and hanging them. The Witches likewise have reason to hate him for his butchery, as none who are delivered into his hands are allowed to live.
Despite his ruthlessness, he is often called Duncan the Just by the smallfolk of the Clan's territory, owing to his habits of making rounds and quite fairly settling disputes. Happily married, with three small children.
Morgan Brock: Ramsay's elder sister, by a few minutes. She is a haggard, but strong old woman, still able to walk unaided. She has a straight back, and her black hair is still only just beginning to be shot with grey. She is the mayor of Ramsay's fortress, and one of his closest advisors and friends. She was rather beautiful and promiscuous in her younger years of adventuring, until she had a [&@%!] child fathered on her, who was named Alfred.
Alfred Brock: Morgan Brock's only son, in his late thirties. The Clan's greatest warrior, and Lieutenant to the Captain of the Muster, his cousin Ramsey Jr. He is considered to be one of the most intelligent men in the realm, but also one of the fairest and most level-headed. Unmarried. He has led several successful forays against the Strabo.
Morgan Ryburn (nee Brock): Eldest daughter of Ramsay Sr, and Lady of Ferricksburg, the clan's holdings' largest town. She married to one of the local minor lords. Has one daughter.
Ramsay Brock, Jr: Captain of the Muster, and an aggressive, dashing young man, if rather stupid. His tactics would be suicidal, if not for the guiding hand of his cousin, Alfred. Unmarried.
Henry Brock: A rather bookish man, who left for the faraway city of Crusada in order to pursue his ambition of becoming a scholar. Unimportant.
Sally Brock: A slow-witted woman, generally shunned. She lives with her father, and is generally hidden away.
Dorah Brock (Senjak): The Cadus' wife, though she is less than half his age. Beautiful, funny, smart, and adored by the people. She has fiery red hair, and more ambitions than her pleasant smile betrays.
Alexandra Brock: A fiery-haired young beauty, daughter of Ramsay Sr.'s second wife, Dorah. She is well-known for her beauty, and rumour has it that the chief is looking for a suitable political marriage.
John Brock: Thirteen years old, well-loved by all in the Cadus' household.
Faction -
Faction Name: The Sword's Hand
History(For own clan):
The Sword's Hand is a military based nation which focuses greatly on swords in combat. They originated from a group of mercenaries, but lost that trait years back, and inherited a more organized structure. They are now a military nation, who all inhabitants are expected to be brave, loyal, and self sacraficing.
The leader before Lord Glaryl was a man Yorgsay. This notorious overlord was nothing like Glaryl. Yorgsay always took what wasn't his, and what was his. Yorgsay was the man of power. A sucessful fighter, tracker, spy, and wizard. Though, he never took part in any battle once he took power. Yorgsay became a man to do the opposite of, sort of a reverse role model.
Next in power is a woman named Larga. She is the daughter of Glaryl, and one of his wives, Warka (The Sword's Hand is engaged in poligamy). Larga is a brave soul, and more of a stealthy type of person than a front line fighter, which is very different for a leader of The Sword's Hand. There is much disscussion if she could even be brought into power. To be brought into power, the heir must successfully win over a battle as an assisstant general, and be on the front lines. Larga will be the first woman soldier, and the first woman leader of The Sword's Hand
Women of the Sword's Hand, by tradition, are always at home, taking care of the children until they are old enough to fight, and then usually training to become medics, or if they do not posses the skill, other non physical jobs, such as trading. The female merchants are always guarded by male guards though. The women by tradition are fed twice the amount of what the men eat, even if they are already carrying a child, because The Sword's Hand believes that the women need preparation also. Due to this, the women are more rotund than the men.
There was no real first leader. The first leader actually classifed as an overlord was Yorgsay. All preceding leaders were war heroes of mercenary times. The heroes still acted as leaders, but just weren't classified as them. Leaders of The Sword's Hand are usually war heroes, so usually are generals (This may not apply with Larga). The leader is reffered to as Overlord, or Lord, since the arrival of Yorgsay. Glaryl wouuld like to change back to the title of General, though again, this may change once Larga comes into power.
Leaders -
Leader: Lord Glaryl
History(If changed): Glaryl aced and excellled in everything warlike, and soon became a war hero, and then a respected ruler. He is loyal, brave, and faithful. This man has led troops to battle on the front lines, even as leader, and hasn't failed once.

Faction Name: Braeburn
History(For own clan): The largest and most prosperous clan.
Leader: Bridea Mjurgu Brae.
History(If changed): DM-made history, again.
Personality: Sensible, a man who always thinks through his actions thoroughly before carrying them out precisely. He is generally on the good side of morality, but may dip if he thinks it needs to. He is rather eager to go to war, however.
Generals/Advisers: He commands his own troops. His adviser if Narf Georl, who counters his warlike side with a calm temperament and cool facade.

History(For own clan): Originally a nomadic family of adventurers that appeared out of nowhere, they settled down only recently, trying to eke out a living in the mountains. Their society is strictly matriarchal, and only females can inherit. All members of the clan share two common ancestors, the original founders of their family, and are divided into 16 'Strands', each having a direct line back to one of the children of this "Adam and Eve"-like figures. The strands are prone to infighting, and sudden changes in leadership is not uncommon.
Leaders -
Leader: Wyrsprinnin Disistinnia II Nirinel-Wyrspryn
History: Tracing her line back to the oldest daughter of the first Wyrspryn's, the 81-year old Disistinnia is both leader of the Strand Nirinel as well as the current leader of the Wyrspryn Clan. This is mostly due to power struggles having killed off many of her former rivals and most of their heirs as well, leaving Disistinnia as the only living remnant of her own generation, with the generation after her is already completely gone. As such, the old lady, who acquired power upon defeating the previous Wyrsprinnin in a duel, is closing in on her final sleep knowing that the clan will be in the hands of brash youngsters once more, and as such she works frantically to consolidate the Strands.
Personality: Disistinnia is calm and collected, having ruled the clan for a record-breaking 12 years, and she rarely makes any offensive decision, relying on defending what they already own as top priority. Her disdain of the younger generation can sometimes cause trouble in negotiations, however.
Generals/Advisers:
Disistinnia Nirinel-Wyrspryn - Heir to the Nirinel Strand and the current Wyrsprinnin's granddaughter. 19 years old and very much detached from the world.
Kyrbye Mallyt-Wyrspryn - Leader of Strand Mallyt. 18 years old and slightly impulsive with tendencies towards violent decision-making. Chief Blacksmith of the Clan.
Assanorilla Wynnde-Wyrspryn - Leader of Strand Wynnde. 18 years old and very calm and calculating. Not overly empathic. Chief Diplomat of the Clan.

Rormyrsa Granydd-Wyrspryn - Leader of Strand Granydd. 20 years old. Very uninterested in politics. Mostly rummages around with magic. Chief Magics Advisor of the Clan.
Passera Dysscaw-Wyrspryn - Leader of Strand Dysscaw. Very religious, 23 years old, tends to overlook reason for religious guidance. Chief Clergywoman of the Clan.
Wyndette Corlyon-Wyrspryn - Leader of Strand Corlyon. 16 years old. Scheming and spinning webs. Highly calculating and unscrupulous.
Koryssna Jueddaw-Wyrspryn - Leader of Strand Jueddaw. 20 years old. Uninterested in the power struggles. Fierce battler and keen duelist. Problem-solving type. Bodyguard of the Wyrsprinnin.
Ambra and Oramya Ilictynn-Wyrspryn - Twin leaders of Strand Ilictynn. 18 years old. Prone to disagreeing on everything. Both very hotheaded.

Gaionosly Fycshire-Wyrspryn - Leader of Strand Fycshire. 18 years old. Badly in need of an anger management course.

As long as you stay within most of what has been set out, you can change whatever you want. Just don't make them tutu-wearing pixies. I wanted Shadow to change the name because Femrash is cooler!
Tutu wearing pixies? I have a idea.
Also on autocorrect that name is gonna be hell, can I just call him Femrash?

Faction -
Faction Name: The Witches of Mortock
History(For own clan):
Leaders -
Leader: Clan Matron Sjerrkya
Generals/Advisers:
Spiritual Adviser - Voada the Hag
Consort and general Adviser - Uthyrick
Military Leader/High Shaman - Ysara
Skills(Choose one other)(Military, Navy, Mineral/Wood/Armour Production, Magic, Survival): Survival [magic as well, right?]
I hope this is alright. I can't wait to get started. Forsworn-esque Witch Clan ftw!
Faction -
Faction Name: The Sword's Hand
History(For own clan):
Personality(If changed): Brace, loyal, faithful
Generals/Advisers: General Glaryl
Same as above Colonel Ugo Major Trugay Captain Vorto Lieutenant Quebyl Wife Warka
Mother of Larga, one of Glarly's multiple wives Adviser Sootha
A woman who is the faithful adviser of Glaryl. She is one of Glaryl's multiple wives Wife Silda
Leader of the Caravans, one of Glarly's multiple wives. Heiress Larga
Daughter of Glaryl, and Warka. Heiress to the throne.
Skills: Military, Mineral Production

Faction -
Faction Name: Mordach
Skills are mineral production and military.
