I'm working on a Druid where for role play reasons he only uses "nature" magic as taught to him by his cult. This means I will want 100 conjuration to summon two familiars to act by my side. My question is, are they affected by the elemental potency perk, and what would their maximum health/damage be?
Thanks
Keith

Re: Conjure familiar spell: classification? Maximum potentia
I've never tried it, but I don't think they are affected by the elemental potency perk, since the Dremora Lords aren't, either. But even if they were, I doubt they'd last long in battle. Conjure Familiar is a novice level spell. Thus they are extremely weak and fragile.

From looking through the CK it looks like the only perks that affect familiars is Dual Casting and Twin Souls.

You might just want to take the necromance perks in the conj. tree and then go get a couple cave bears. Shouldn't be that hard to role play the idea. Maybe cast a soul trap, then you could "know" the animal on a deeper transcendental level. then raising the creature could just be reintroducing the soul into the body. A deep, yet dark, nature magic.

I LOVE this idea. Just instead of a gimp only summoning familiars, I will only raise undead animals with dead thrall. I'm totally getting Barbas too. The idea is to be an elemental (fire, frost) spell caster that can shapeshift into a werewolf at any given time with the ring of Hircine. So I'll have my dogs following me everywhere, ill try not to use AoE spells. Oh how I wish there were wind or earth spells. That would tie it in nicely.Draast wrote:You might just want to take the necromance perks in the conj. tree and then go get a couple cave bears. Shouldn't be that hard to role play the idea. Unfortunately, Dead Thrall only works on humanoids.Mr.smexy113 wrote:I LOVE this idea. Just instead of a gimp only summoning familiars, I will only raise undead animals with dead thrall. yeah, you can only reanimate non-humanoids with the lesser raising spells, and unless you use a staff they'll reduce to ash.

So I just have to use a staff of revenant or dread zombie or something, To retain their corpse and summon them again?
