Yes, this would make sense. I recall on one of my characters a few months ago, my second-hand weapon (a dagger, don't remember details) actually did appear on my left hip along with my primary on the right. But then I changed my armor and it disappeared again.Spiney wrote:I wonder how hard it would've been to make it so you're second weapon when dual wielding doesn't just disappear when you sheath it?

I've always wanted those!DarkEastwood wrote:A stronger stealth system. I know they improved it plenty from Oblvion but I just can't get enough >_< This would include more escape routes and certain places that are difficult to rob. Also stealth-oriented arrows would be cool.
I was hoping they would add darts (for archery) or throwing knives (archery as well, maybe the skill should be renamed Marksman or Ranged).
Throwing knives = silent kill, long windup and big stamina drain. Hard to aim but lots of damage.
Darts = made for specific effects, not killing. Almost undetectable (unless found throwing it) and untraceable. Effects may include poison, tranquiliser, frenzy, calm, any spell effect really. Paralysis seems like a really nice one
I've got so many stealth ideas...Can't wait until someone makes some kind of overhaul for stealth (like they did in Oblivion).

Re: Easy-to-implement things you wish Skyrim had
I love those stealth ideas. I was pretty underwhelmed by what they ended up doing with it. I miss darts, too.
I've got a few "minor" things having to do with items:
-No (or at least fewer) levelled items! Exploring dungeons becomes so, so boring when you know there's no chance of finding anything really nice or an artifact of some sorts. Please hand-place more things and not just have everything be level-scaled. I still remember how excited I was walking into a random tomb in Morrowind and finding the Bow of Shadows. Though to be fair, Skyrim is better and more subtle about it than Oblivion.
-Related: More artifacts! I HATE how ALL the artifacts in Skyrim are quest-related, and there doesn't seem to be any other type than Daedric. So, Daedric artifacts are pretty much the only unique items. Like I said before, it makes treasure-hunting boring if everything you find is random, generic and level-scaled. Sigh.
-Also related: Unique magic item names! I know it sounds weird, and I'm pretty sure I brought it up before, but I would have loved it if they just had a guy take a day to go through the generic magic items and give them actual names. Am I really the only player who just fails to be excited when, after slogging through a huge dungeon, is rewarded with a "Dwarven Sword of Burning" or an "Elven War Axe of Harvesting". It just starts to sound stupid after a point. They didn't need to have such a huge variety of enchanted items if only they made each sound more unique. I'd much rather be swinging a "Shardmauler" than a "Steel Warhammer of Frost".
-OK, this would have been time-consuming, so not really "easy to implement", but I would have loved more Skyrim-specific armour and weapon types. Funny that Skyrim, with the exception of the Ancient Nordic weapons, has pretty much the same materials available as Cyrodiil. Don't get me wrong, I love the Norse spin they put on things like the Steel armour. But almost all the higher level stuff just doesn't feel...Skyrim-y. Why isn't there some kind of Trollbone armour, for instance? It was in -Morrowind-, FFS. There aren't even trolls there.
Oh, and you know what makes me really mad? Quest markers. Or rather, the fact that you NEED quest markers, whether you like to use them or not. Sure you can turn them on and off, but it doesn't matter, because the quest giver will literally just NOT TELL YOU where you need to go to complete the quest. I would love to turn them off and just go by following directions, except nobody gives directions.

Other than spellmaking, I want to be able to have my dog settle in my house (Maybe have an option to have your housecarl take care of it). I mean, I like having a dog, and Meeko is extremely cute, but it's just too much trouble to protect any dog that isn't Barbas in a serious battle.

This, a thousand times this. I hate having to be a total miser with ebony arrows, and I have yet to use my daedric arrows at all because, I don't know when I will find more (I have like 30 on my level 50 thief at 36 hours of play). And without the regular use of he strongest arrows a available, I cnb use my archery to it's fullest potentialderp53 wrote:did anybody mention arrowmaking cause i'm pretty sure alot of us would love that

On topic:
I'd love a way to swap out perks (without console commands). You know you might look at a perk and it sounds awesome but you realize it doesn't work exactly as you expect, or worse it might even conflict with other perks! (Shadow warrior from stealth and atronoch in alteration for me on one character... it gets absorbed)
Some more uses for unarmed combat. Didn't realize it's only really good as a Khajiit before lvl 10~ and can't be boosted aywhere enar as much as a dagger/bow dmg can.
Spell making and spell scaling. It's really sad that I'm scared to lvl on my mage for fear of out pacing my spells to quickly.

I agree completely. Whenever I walk by a cave/dungeon at first I think, "wow...what could lurk in there and what rewards might it hold?..." then I realise I'm probably getting some kind of random enchanted weapon which may or may not appear in the local general store the day later.Casper wrote:I love those stealth ideas. In Oblivion we had generic/repetitive dungeons but well designed and unique loot.
In Skyrim we have unique and well designed dungeons, but generic/repetitive loot.
I guess we will never have both, but for the record, I prefer Oblivion's system since then I'll actually explore the dungeon rather than leaving it alone. I explored maybe 80% of Oblivion's dungeons/caves. In Skyrim, maybe 15%, and that 15% was before I knew how bad the loot is.

You basically read my mind, I completely agree (especially with the dragons part since that hasn't been mentioned before, but I've always thought about it).Theificka wrote:better dragons, it's hard for stealth characters, and they make no sense that they fly everywhere, they have to have a place to stay...
Craftable arrows, and a better smithing system, as in, no ores, you have to smelt the item to get the material
Oh and better organized inventory, the favorites is the only thing thats alphabetized.
Area shot recognition, adds another level to marksmanship
I don't get your smithing system idea, however. Do you mean you would have to melt down a weapon in order to get its material?

An arena. I can't fathom why there isn't an arena in Skyrim.
Wood-chopping seems superfluous without the ability to craft arrows.
We can craft armor, why can't we color it? I'm sick of wearing brown all the time.
Cloaks to wear over armor. Would've been perfect for my warrior/thief hybrid.

Two things:
1. Reduce the distance when NPCs starts talking to you. It's so annoying and unrealistic, listening to a person's speech, for example, and then someone strolls by saying: "I'm the captain of the guard..." or "Have you been to the Cloud district..." Imagine if you were walking in the city in real life and every person you meet starts talking to you about what they do and feel. It would drive me nuts!
2. Remove quiver when switching from a bow to a melee weapon. Why would I need a ugly quiver on my back when I want to use a sword?

Actually, if you look in the "Creation Kit", there exists a worldspace called "WindhelmPitWorldspace" that contains a little arena and there's even a faction for it. My guess is that the idea was scrapped or that they might add it later on, but I doubt it.antixx1990 wrote:An arena. I can't fathom why there isn't an arena in Skyrim.

Re: Easy-to-implement things you wish Skyrim had
I really like the idea of seeing your character in the menu, like oblivion.
I would also like to see more role playing options, such as farming. The ability to buy your own farm (or Aquire it through a number of quests) which would bring you in a certain amount of gold per day, depending how established you have it. Spend money to buy new facilities such as a barn, windmill, or horse plow and then take your goods to market all over skyrim! Defend your farm from bandit raids.
I'd like to see a physical map model for the player to take with them, as well as the ability to create your own markings on the map, such as for passes through the mountains which are hidden and unmarked, until you can discover and place them.
I'd like to see a build-your-own house mod too, and if not at least give us some castles or towers or something like the houses from oblivion!
Edit: I would also love it if somehow, I DIDN'T escape from Helen in the beginning. I'd like to run aground in my captains ship east of dawn star and get marauded by bandits. I'd like to be part of a Kahjiit caravan escaping thalmor influence to freely trade goods in skyrim. Or perhaps I am a thalmor justiciar inquiring here and there for talos worsippers. I want options!
PS I am on Xbox so if these mods already exist, I can't get them but here's hoping!

I was looking through the CK the other day and found a series of roughed-in quests for the "Pit" as well, with fights against NPCs, wild animals and even a giant. Plus an alternate version of a Dark Brotherhood quest that apparently required you to get thrown into the Windhelm jail, and then kill your mark in a pit fight.Thrymjabjorn wrote:Actually, if you look in the "Creation Kit", there exists a worldspace called "WindhelmPitWorldspace" that contains a little arena and there's even a faction for it.
