That is a big maybe... I'm still really nervous about the whole war thing... never did an RP with fighting the way Warhammer does...

I'm more used to things like assasinations and theiving

Combat will be... different- large scale combat in this is going to be a big no-no, also you're on Mars after your army has been wiped out.

I'm considering Sisters of Battle, so I'll have to see where I'll go from there... but you will be hearing from me before this thing starts up!

I have this very cool idea of my Farseer just teleporting around and wiping out a small squad.. Would I be able to do that?

Sisters of Battle- very nice.
I'm going to be away for a week though so any characters that are submited in this time will have to wait to be accepted.
Teleporting is all good- but lets just say these aren't normal Necrons.

Name: Hector Nero, Lieutenant of the 515th Moravian Line Infantry

Faction: Imperium of Man

Army: Imperial Guard, 515th Moravian Line Infantry

Sex: Male

Appearence:

Hector is tall but gaunt. He wears the classic longcoat of the Imperial Guard officers, only basically adroned with several decorations befitting his low rank. Under the longcoat he wears a thin flak armour embellished with a silver aquila and with a purity seal, a reminder of the long war against chaos forces on Jutra Secundus.

Around his waist he carries several pouches with ammo clips for his trusted laspistol and several krak grenades. Nero lost his arm to a cultist chainsword and now he uses a crude bionic, a thing of sheer praticality and resilence.

As it is common with the Imperial Guard officers he integrated several other bionics on his person to better fulfill his role as a frontline commander. The techpriests substituted the left eye of the lieutenant with an optic bionic which allows Nero to use the infrared vision and has a crude targeter built in.

Personality:

Nero is a scion of the Schola Progenium and to an extention the Munitorum. He was schooled for the officer role by the drill abbots and trained to act as a staff officer in the many campaigns waged by the Imperium. While the Lieutenant is a gfted tactician and organisator he lusts for combat as all his peers do and he earned several decorations as a duelist and frontline commander.

While very little remains of his humanity after the intensive studies at the Schola Progenium Hector is still not inclined to waste his charges in forlon assaults or for scarps of glory. He is cold and methodical, willing to take sacrifices to ensure victory but unwilling to bow to any petty commander or enact every suicidal order he recives. This attitude costed him his carrer and in over twenty years of service in the Imperial Guard he still has not progressed past the rank of Lieutenant, a harsh blow for one so ambitious but graced with some compassion for his men.

It was the events on Jutra Secundus that changed his perspective of the guard and finnaly shattered his ambitions. He witnessed the massacre of his regiment and the decapitation of its generals. While he is now the only officer left Nero carries on his soul the weight of thousands of dead guardsmen and a legacy of a once proud regiment that needs to be rebuilt.

Background:

Nero is one of the countless officers schooled in the Schola Progenium, the prime institution where the orphans of the Imperial officers are channeled in a series of high ranking roles in the Imperium. While most of his classmates eventually entered in service as stormtroopers or commissars Nero, gifted with a great knowledge of the Tactica Imperium, was selected for the role of staff officer and military advisor.

He obtained his brevet command in the Moravian 515th, a renown infantry regiment that was heading toward the Jutra subsector to quell the heretical forces there ammassed. En route to the distant subsector Nero was extensively trained in infantry combat and he even attended to the brevet trainings for armour commanders.

His first christening in the crucible of war came in the very first hours of the Jutra campaign. His company found itself under heavy enemy fire and in the first moments of the engagements half of the 6th Company officers were dead or wounded. Nero took command and managed to hold the heretics until elements of the 678th Huer Rifles rescued the 6th from the onslought.

When the lines formed up and the situation was clear for the Imperial Guard, Nero entered in service in the staff command of Colonel Vernon and he was instrumental in the planning of several daring raids on enemy lines. For almost ten years the fields of Jutra bleed the Moravian 515th and in this years Nero earned much renown for his cold head and skill in battle, as well as invaluable experience as an infantry commander.

Unfortunately the traitor legions appeared in the salient point of the Jutra campaign and despite the skill of the Imperial Guard more than three million guardsmen were killed in less than two days of the heretic assault, among those guardsmen were more than seven thousand Moravians, their entire officer cadre and they have lost almost all their precious heavy weapons and armour.

Nero and several sergeants were the only command elements that managed to fight their way toward the landing zone and they sucessfully evaquated around two thousand guardsmen of the Moravian 515th. Fighting a fierce rearguard action the Moravians earned a citation for gallantry but their efforts were for nought, Jutra fell to the archenemy and disparate elements of the Imperal Guard were reorganized in combined regiments.

Nero and his men are now enroute to the Sol system where they will be part of the second wave that will be sent toward the enemy forces. Understanding that this is at best a suicidal action Nero is determined to make the sacrifice of the Moravian 515th at least useful for the greater glory of mankind.

War gear:

While Nero is an officer and he has full access to the armory of his regiment he opts for a more reliable wargear setup instead of a powerful one. He never leaves the command bunker without his trusted laspistol and he uses his bionic arm to carry a longlas as his main weapon. When forced in melee, Nero can surprise with well honed skills with his chainsword, a weapon that is always held in his right arm. The complementary frag and krak grenades are always on his belt.

Yeah, my Ork needs a snack before gets down to serious business. Plus those flash lights that guardsmen carry will be handy if there is a power cut.
