Wyre Bash "Unable to start Wyre Bash..." Please help.

Post by Morrowjb »

Hello. I have been trying to install Wyre Bash v296 in order to work with Oblivion (I have Shivering Isles installed and the Shivering Isles update installed also) for the last 2 or 3 hours and can not seem to get it working.

So far this is what i have done:
1. Python25 installed (on C: drive)
2. Wyre Bash installed (inside my oblivion folder on D: drive)

When I run D:\Játékok\oblivion\Mopy\wyre bash.exe i get the following message:
Error! Unable to start Wrye Bash.

Please ensure Wrye Bash is correctly installed.

I have reviewed various websites and tried to navigate a few forums but without success. Can someone more familiar with Wyre Bash guide me to a topic that already addresses this specific issue or, if that's not available, could someone simply walk me through how to resolve this issue? Thanks a lot everyone for your help and time.

(p.s., I wasn't sure if it matter that python and wyre are installed on different drives---thus I included that in the above info)

Try having them both, Python and Wrye Bash, on the same drive. And, oftentimes games / programs have problems if they aren't in C drive, or if the CD / DVD drive isn't named D, when you play the game from a disk.

I'm not an expert, but it seems like parts that rely on each other can't find the necessary counterpart. Thus, the re-orientation? :)
