Yeah I doubt the beta testers are going to keep their secrets for long.

If you pause the video right at :54, you'll see that it's an axe. Possibly a dragonbone axe, or maybe a weapon specific to the Dawnguard, as it's shown to have the symbol of the Dawnguard on it's head (Although the handle does look like dragonbone).Elenath wrote:I've been away from the Skyrim fandom for a week. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE....
EDIT: ...Sorry, I'll be more mature now. Does anybody else think that the weappon at :54 looks sort of like a sickle?

Re: Dawnguard.
I've seen a lot of debate over whether the weapons we've seen in the trailer are the new Dragonbone weapons. I highly doubt that. Wouldn't it (lore AND gameplay-wise) make more sense for the Dawnguard to use silver weapons? My money's on them being a higher grade of silver. Kind of like Skyforge Steel VS regular steel.

Wood handles, silver blades is what I'm seeing. The silver damage to vampires is lore and not just gameplay, right?Argonanza wrote:Meh, looks like wood to me.

Yep.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

Re: Dawnguard.
It's common sense! Why would they put the best weapons, of the many new ones being released, in a trailer? They want to surprise us with these dragon one weapons not show them off before the game comes out. Plus if you see a dawnguard symbol on it, its they're brand of weapon. It is not dragon bone I'm 99% sure

Re: Dawnguard.
I wonder how they will present the dragon bone smithing, will we have to beat the DLC and learn from some dude? Or will it be added just to the perk? I mean, why would you get all the other weapons if you already have Dragon bone?

Re: Dawnguard.
It'll probably just be integrated into the Dragon Smithing perk. If the player is skilled enough to create Dragonbone armor I think they'd be more than qualified to make weapons too.
Re: Dawnguard.
I'm hoping those weapons are just more silver ones, or ideally, a higher quality type such as nordic silver from bloodmoon.

They are an "ancient" group of vampire hunters so they could've been around for Bloodmoon or even before.Rootmars wrote:I'm hoping those weapons are just more silver ones, or ideally, a higher quality type such as nordic silver from bloodmoon.

Re: Dawnguard.
I know it probably wont happen but I hope Dawnguard tweaks some preexisting monsters to make them more fun............. i mean, some vanilla monsters become super OP at high levels...... I am looking at you briarhearts.
As for dragonbone weapons they will, as mentioned before, most likely be placed in the dragon smithing perk.

Re: Dawnguard.
I doubt the ones the dawnguard use are Dragonbone weapons. Not many people have that kind of Smithing ability, and even if they do, they wouldn't have time to craft them.

I too was saddened by the lack of Goldbrand. It and Chillrend are my two favorite Elder Scrolls weapons. Since Chillrend was part of such a minor quest in Oblivion I didn't really expect it to make an appearance in Skyrim. I actually shrieked with joy when I saw that blue blade in Mercer Fray's display case.DikaSmausha wrote:I hope in some DLC they bring back Golbrand. Best weapon ever.

A guild main quest is hardly what I would consider minor.RedDeadFred wrote:I too was saddened by the lack of Goldbrand. It and Chillrend are my two favorite Elder Scrolls weapons. Yeah it was my favourite weapon in every TES game i've played (since Morrowind), plus if they brought it into Skyrim via a DLC that means Goldbrand has went down the family tree, as if Boethiah shimself is watching over my Dunmer.DikaSmausha wrote:I hope in some DLC they bring back Golbrand. Goldbrand was mentioned in "The Great War" as being in Titus Mede II's personal armory and being wielded by him on the battlefield during the Battle of the Red Ring. How he would have come to possess such an artifact is an interesting story in and of itself, I'm sure, since the Artifacts usually choose their own master and getting one of Boethiah's usually involves bloodshed...
