The Temple of Hircine
Welcome brothers and sisters. With the news that both the children of Hircine and of Molag Bal will be receiving new gifts in the coming DLC I thought it would be nice to have a place to gather freely. A whole new Hunt is on the way. Glad we have been blessed once again. I'm sure we'll know more in the coming days as to what powers we will be granted. Holding out that our cousins, the bears, will be joining us soon.

Re: The Temple of Hircine
Ah, I love werewolves and Hircine. Having werewolves in Skyrim is great and I really hope we get werebears too. One thing though that bothers me is that the moon has no effect on the transformation. I don't like the timed transformation and the changing at will. Werewolves are night creatures and they should stay in that form for the whole night, like in Bloodmoon. I know I said this before, but it really bothers me. Oh, and I wouldn't mind getting another Bloodmoon-like expansion, the quests were great and Solstheim has great atmosphere. Oh and another thing - WILD WEREWOLVES! There should be at least a few werewolves in the werewolves in the wild, not just in the Silver Hand bases (hope this changes with Dawnguard). Sorry if this post was too werewolf-oriented and not much about Hircine
Twice and twice shall he be marked, twice to live and twice to die.

Once the Dragon, for remembrance lost. Twice the Dragon, for the price he must pay.

Re: The Temple of Hircine
Great post, Werewolves and Hircine go hand in hand and should always be lumped together. I don't mind changing at will (being a Werewolf: The Apocalypse fan and all) but I do wish the moon had some play. I prefer the Bloodmoon werewolves in almost every aspect though I like the roars and I can't complain since they were totally absent from Oblivion so at least we made a come back. I would love to see another Hunt take place but I think it's hinted at that the events of Ill Met by Moonlight took place during the Wild Hunt.mulder wrote:Ah, I love werewolves and Hircine. Re: The Temple of Hircine
There was supposed to be an active effect in the game called "Full Moon Rising" which would enhance your stats when the moons were full though it doesn't work. As mentioned above I think Werewolves once transformed at night should be able to stay in wolf form for the entire night and call real wolves to help them hunt.
I would love to see the other were creatures mentioned in the lore, especially WereVultures as they are the only possible way your character could be able to fly, Id also love to see a diving kill move. A majority of my characters are hunters and the only Deadra I will serve is Hircine so a Werewolf/Hircine orientated Dlc in the future would be great.

Wish that was still in effect that would have been amazing. Yeah I use the Brotherhood totem exclusivly but I do wish it called real wolves or better yet the Caenlorn Wolves from Bloodmoon.Velvet LeChance wrote:There was supposed to be an active effect in the game called "Full Moon Rising" which would enhance your stats when the moons were full though it doesn't work. Edit:
I'm sure it won't be anytime soon or anywhere near Skyrim but it'll be nice to see the Vultures as well.

Is Hircine actually an ally of Molag Bal? It seems, to me, that they have extremely little in common.

Re: The Temple of Hircine
I don't believe they would be allies. I only mentioned him as a way of further expressing that though Dawnguard is vampire heavy we were not forgotten. As I've stated else where unless Hircine commands us to destroy/work with them for whatever reason I have no concern for the affairs of vampires.House of the Wolf wrote:Is Hircine actually an ally of Molag Bal? Edit:
As I was just discussing the artifacts of Hircine i'm once again hoping spears return and I would liek to see not only the Spear of Bitter Mercy but also the Hunter's Spear from Bloodmoon return as well.

Re: The Temple of Hircine
Be aware that the Wild Hunt is actually a separate event from Hircine's Hunt. The Wild Hunt is a religious event of the Bosmeri pantheon in which the participants permanently transform into mad beasts to track down a quarry. Hircine's Hunt is when a group of Tamriel's strongest heroes are gathered on Solstheim and fight against each other in order to escape the hunting grounds and receive Hircine's boon.Huntershound wrote:I would love to see another Hunt take place but I think it's hinted at that the events of Ill Met by Moonlight took place during the Wild Hunt.

Re: The Temple of Hircine
Does this differ from what is on the Lore page? As it sits currently it states "Hircine hosts a great hunt every era, pitting various prey of his choosing against one another. The exact nature of each hunt varies from era to era.", does this need to be updated? Thank you for the information.Gideon Dragontongue wrote:Be aware that the Wild Hunt is actually a separate event from Hircine's Hunt. I enjoyed the tales of the Wild Hunt and I'll be more careful with my words in the future. Wonderful!

Re: The Temple of Hircine
Yeah. The Wild Hunt is what the Bosmer commenced in the murder of King Borgas in the early 1E. Lycanthropy is a big part of the Bosmeri religion.

Re: The Temple of Hircine
I dont think the Bosmeri were Lychantropes but that turning it into creatures during the wild hunt is just an ability that they naturally have. Its described in A Dance in FireHouse of the Wolf wrote:Yeah. The Wild Hunt is what the Bosmer commenced in the murder of King Borgas in the early 1E. Lycanthropy is a big part of the Bosmeri religion.
"A flood of horrific beasts , tentacled toads, insects of armor and spine, gelatinous serpents, vaporous beings with the face of gods, all poured forth from the great hollow tree, blind with fury"
Also unlike Lychantropes the Wild Hunt does not seem to have the ability to change back and turn on each other once the prey has been eaten. I also do not think the wild hunt is a religous thing as the only two time (to my knowledge) that they used it was in defence against the Khajiiti invaders after they had attacked the Bosmeri after what was supposed to be a truce and against King Borgas who was trying to rally support against the Bosmeri

Re: The Temple of Hircine
While picking through the Werewolf page I just found out that females are smaller than males in Beast Form. I did not know this previously and I now wish I had the mod to make Aela enter Beast Form and stand beside me.

That, and females are usually a bit lighter in colour, something closer to brown than black.

Still think we should scrap adoption and go straight for birth...or both I guess...either way I would like the option of having my child Hunt by my side in service to Hircine.

Re: The Temple of Hircine
Ah, I do enjoy werewolves. Glad they decided to give them a bit of an expansion; of course, I'll be doing a lot with the vampire aspect too.
All I've heard on the topic of werewolf perks is that you move up the tree by the number of mauls you have. Shouldn't be a problem for my main character/Khajiit werewolf.

I like how on the other wiki it erroneously states that you can make enchanted bolts, but when you listen to the video they cite as a referance you can tell that somebody misunderstood the guy talking and it was little more than wishfull thinking. 3:35 or so.

Re: The Temple of Hircine
@Hunter: beyond what they're listed as on that wiki, I have no idea. I could probably guess, though.
Re: The Temple of Hircine
It will probably be untill beta before people know the other lycan perks, the ones that are know were gathered from the e3 vid they kept showing for interviews. The only reason the vampire one is known so completely is because people who got hands on time were playing as a vamp lord so they paused to check out the menu and wrote it down.
