Don´t see how Silgrad Tower and MGSO would be incompatible, haven´t seen any packs for graphics there specifically.
But I don't use mgso and it has been several years since I last played it.
As for the mod it is almost finish as quest goes, worst case you have to do some console-magic if they get stuck.
The big hurdle is it takes over gnaar mok and rumours until you get done with "the pirate attack" and choose side with either the pirates, or the guards, side with the pirates gives you transport with them over to the silgrad region, and you might get a death warrant with a bounty, side with the guards and you have to swim,or just go to gnisis to get to ebbedin ,alternatively walk from blacklight, transport to blacklight was from dagon fel iirc, besides it is some cool stuff there too.So I wait to run the mod until I´m done with stuff in and around gnar mok =it is some quests there.
In the silgrad region it is some freeform quests, and settlements like ebbedin have a few,and of course park reichkeep and silgrad tower got plenty,it is transport between those two at least.
Quest givers is often either redorans or imperials,so it is a little easier for redorans I think.
In Silgrad Tower it is shops to with stuff hard to find elsewhere, and as quest there goes,it is a billboard with quest to start with.
edit: lost as in lost directions ? eventually you would likely get to a road or anything, and thus see a roadmarker, it some of them even in the silgrad region.Almost easier from Ebbedin since you get onto a road at once with directions.

Re: Silgrad Tower and MGSO
Ones tries to help you know
Kidding,as I said it is some time since I played S-T.
It is easier to get a ride with the pirates on the spot,as loot goes the pirates have more special stuff that the guards don´t have, more or less ordinary bonemold armour on the guards iirc. Then there is eventual roleplaying aspects,so some of my characters sides with the pirates, other characters sides with the guards.
As transport goes, the arrival location is better with the Gnisis-Ebbedin route, while the pirates pretty much drops you off in nowhere.
Eventual bounties is taken care off with regional known criminals,so one can pay of fines everywhere, preferably in a region yuo don´t have a bounty on you.
Without it is difficult to return to gnaar mok if you got a bounty on you there, find it hard to avoid that regardless.
edit: one could just remove those rumours in the cs (I did),problem solved

yes, it takes over all rumours, can mess other things up,and it is a bit annoying after a while imho.

Re: Silgrad Tower and MGSO
Loaded up S-T in the cs as active after I had take a backup of the original, browsed through dialogues and removed it->save.
(there is probably more efficient methods, like changing its priorities but I´m on very deep water with that,so gone with it)

Re: Silgrad Tower and MGSO
Minimap and compass + eventual directions ?
Sorry, don´t remember that many details,do remember that blacklight included some running around and checking with npc´s,and some empty buildings similar to havish-style with none decorated houses and such.
Iirc could try an intervention, take it with a grain of salt but I seem to recall it is some of them there,at least there is one to fort frostmoth(divine),and almsivi from there takes one to gnisis, and ebbedin next
(normally)
