NPCs in Temple of Dibella Disappearing?

Hello, first time on the board, and it's because of a strange bug I encountered and can't find any info on anywhere.

After being promoted to Initiate in the Temple of Dibella, I saved my game inside the temple. When I reloaded, the quest-giver and all the naked or semi-naked chicks disappeared. I went to another city's temple of Dibella and saved inside the temple again. The vanishing repeated, same characters. None of the males disappeared.

I tried it in the Temple of Kynareth, but nobody disappeared.

I reinstalled Daggerfall, but the issue persisted.

Any ideas what the issue could be and how I might be able to fix it?

UPDATE:

Went to yet another city's temple of Dibella. Saved outside BEFORE going in, this time. Went in, the NPCs were there. Reloaded game. Entered temple again. The NPCs had vanished. Going to uninstall, then reinstall then restart.

Are you keeping your old saved game files when reinstalling, or are you starting a new character?

Also, which installer package are you using, or where are you getting the files to install the game?
