Re: Fav. Female-Led Rock Band
Lacuna Coil are very cool, although I have to say I find their ballad's can be a bit boring.
I like little bits of Nightwish aswell, but my favourite is probably [&@%!](Rock-word for female dog).
I've never heard any of their songs, but they perform naked soooo.....

Probably Joan Jett and the Black Hearts.

Re: Fav. Female-Led Rock Band
Mine would be Siouxsie and the Banshees- other faves which loosely satisfy such requirements would be The Cranberries, Lush, and Eurythmics.
I've never heard of Superchick or any of the groups which Jeff offered links to, admittedly.

Have you explored The Cranberries' most recent album, HotW? Given your neglecting to mention the group, I thought perhaps that you've simply not enjoyed their tunes in a good while; such a fresh release would surely offer apt opportunity.
Cocteau Twins is another excellent female-led band which I myself was so rude as to leave unacknowledged!

Re: Fav. Female-Led Rock Band
Kids are still listening to Nightwish and Lacuna Coil???
Anyways, I was obsessed with chick-fronted goth/metal bands back when I was little, and (briefly) played keyboards in one. If I had to be serious, it'd probably be either Nightwish or Theatre of Tragedy, for sheer nostalgia and the total catalogue (for the record, yes, I like the pop-dance ToT, and no, I don't like the post-fattie 'wish), although my single favorite album was probably either Ambeon or After Forever's first release. But I guess it really depends on what you mean by a "rock" band. My favorite straight up rock act was Veruca Salt. And of course, mad props to No Doubt, who only released two albums, but oh what albums they were!

I knew you would disappoint Jedi, I could never remember the name of the group you poseted a few weeks ago: Arkona
Dang, I forgot Otep.
Before there was Flyleaf, there was: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfv8YBkJBko
Some better tunes here: http://www.myspace.com/miphix
Flyleaf and MiPhix were both from the Fort Hood, TX area, and I use to see them at local clubs before they made it.
Doros... if you liked chick-fronted goth bands, how could you not mention: Johnnete?

Re: Fav. Female-Led Rock Band
Well, two things: one, this is about our favorite. As in, absolute top end. I could yammer on all day about chick fronted rock bands I have love...
Lacuna Coil
The Great Kat
Nina Hagen
Arch Enemy
Switchblade Symphony
The Gathering
Rasputina
Within Temptation
Sinergy
Etc etc etc. Also, I'm not a huge fan of "proper" goth bands. I don't mind the stuff, but it's a bit before my time, and I can't help but associate it with the goofy older guys I knew who hung out around goth clubs in the city. I, I hate to admit this, but I don't even like Christian Death... except for the stuff with the chick, the stuff that all their "real" fans hate.
And this isn't even touching on all the chick fronted stuff I wouldn't really consider "rock" per say, like Bjork, or the stuff that I like but can't list here because it'd be too out of place (how can I mention CSS in the same post as The Great Kat?). Are we allowed to name drop any of them, too?

Embedding a Youtube screen behind a spolier tag is the same as embedding it out in the open— you're not saving on anyone's bandwith/processing issues there.
Same goes for pictures. It's not a clever way to get around the hyperlink rule.

Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Re: Fav. Female-Led Rock Band
I'm confused, this is female-led Rock Bands, why are people including all female groups? I'm going to go with Paramore, although I only like one of their songs, just don't like female singers, too many of them use the Witney Wobbly Wail for me.

If it's an all-female band, who leads it? Is it... a female? I don't know. I can't think of any all-female bands with a male frontman, can you?

Re: Fav. Female-Led Rock Band
Cranberries definitely rule.. Well that one song does.
Linda Ronstadt. Well, she's not known for rock but good God does she have a voice. I can't stress how incredible she is. I will propose to her if I ever see her.

Click on the 2:30 mark. If you don't agree she is incredible I will fight you.
Why can't I find a gal like this? *looks to god* Come on dude stop messing with me.

I posted two Concrete Blond tunes...
I was only willing to go back to the 80's (and just barely). I didn't think anyone would be interested in the 60's & 70's stuff.
Then we get hit with Linda Ronstadt and Heart.
